Chapter 537
Chapter 537
Meanwhile, Emma had been trying to reach Allison all day, but she wasn’t answering her calls. Anxiously, Emma hailed a cab and headed straight towards Allison’s place.
On the way, she managed to get a quick call with Patty.
“Patty, I just found an account on Twitter claiming they would expose some of Allison’s dark past at 10 a.m. today. They even posted a few censored preview photos.” RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
The photos had blurred out certain areas, but judging from the facial features, they looked a lot like Allison. However, it could also be someone who just looked remarkably similar.
Patty’s mind worked at lightning speed. She immediately made moves to handle the situation. The person behind this was clearly after money. Regardless of whether the woman in the photos was actually Allison or not, the first thing they needed to do was squashing the rumors. In the age of the internet, black can be made to look white and vice versa if the narrative is controlled by the wrong people.
“I’m ten minutes out from Allison’s place,” Emma informed Patty.
Just under ten minutes later, Emma arrived at Powell Estate, which had strict rules about visitor parking. She had to leave her cab outside the estate and quickly made her way to Allison’s doorstep.
Allison opened the door, looking surprised. “Emma, what brings you here?”
Emma had sprinted all the way from the elevator. She arrived at Allison’s-doorstep panting heavily. Allison quickly stepped aside. to let her in. “Sorry, my phone died.”
Emma pulled out her phone and showed Allison the photos on Twitter. The post had already garnered over ten thousand comments and was still being shared extensively, with up to 30,000 retweets.
Allison took a look at the photos. It seemed as though she understood what was happening. “Did you find out who is behind the account? Did you trace the IP?”
Emma shook her head. “We’re on it. The account was only created 50 minutes ago.”
Without another word, Allison put the phone down and returned to her cooking. She was cooking pasta and seemed unfazed by the photos. After taking a couple of bites, she turned to Emma. “Have you eaten yet? You must be hungry after all that running.”
Emma joined Allison at the table, but her mind was filled with questions. Sensing this, Allison spoke up, “It’s not me in those photos. Don’t worry.”
Emma breathed a sigh of relief.
“This account… if I’m not mistaken, it must be someone from Penelope’s side.” Allison took a sip of her soup. “Those photos are Penelope’s.”
Emma was livid. “This is ridiculous! Last week, Mrs. Flanagan asked for your help to clear Penelope’s name. Now the heat is off Penelope. They’re trying to tarnish your reputation. This is despicable!”
After they finished eating, Allison went to the living room. Although her voice was soft and steady, her fingers clenched tightly. Her face was clean and delicate, and a slight mocking smile appeared on her lips.
“Emma, you must be curious about my relationship with the Flanagan family.”
Emma was indeed curious, but she would never ask unless Allison wanted to talk about it. She trusted Allison unconditionally. Regardless of what Allison’s past was like, she only believed in the Allison she knew now.
