Chapter 296 Visiting the Ancestors of the Bishop Family
Because of all the drama with the Ellis family, Allison got sick again for a few days. Then, Alexander got a call saying that Xavier's wife, Edith, had brought her crew to the restaurant, causing a scene and demanding that Hunter be kicked out so they could take over the place.
Already pissed off, Alexander decided to head over with his squad.
"This is the Ellis family's business, not the Shaw family's. Just because you Shaw folks have money doesn't mean you can take over our stuff. This is illegal, and I'm gonna take you to court!"
"Yeah! The Ellis family has been here for decades. Why should we hand over the restaurant to you? Bring Kismet out here. We want to hear it from Kismet directly!" "Have you locked Kismet up? Call the cops, someone call the cops!"
Alexander showed up with his bodyguards and cleared the whole street. He had Hunter bring a chair and place it at the entrance, then sat down himself. "Call the cops? Sure, Hunter, make the call. Let's see if disrupting someone's business counts as breaking the law!"
Hunter pulled out his phone to make the call, but Edith rushed over and knocked it to the ground. "Don't try to scare me. I'm not afraid. I'm telling you, you have to hand over the restaurant today, or else..."
Alexander cut her off, "Or else what? Kill him? Go ahead! Hunter is the only child of the Shaw family in Skycrest. If you dare touch him, just try it and see if the Shaw family won't come after you!"
Hunter stood proudly behind Alexander, like a peacock. Edith might not have been well-educated, but she knew the power of the Shaw family.
Edith said, "I knew it. You rich people just won't let us live. You sent my husband to jail, and now you want to take over our property. How can there be such evil people in the world?"
A group of people sat on the ground, crying and making a scene. Alexander, unbothered, lit a cigarette, something he hadn't done in a long time.
Hunter, knowing Alexander well, realized these people were in big trouble.
Alexander said, "If I remember correctly, all the property rights of Serenity Manor are under Allison's name. This is the Bishop family's business. The Ellis family has nothing to do with it. Moreover, your husband and son embezzled over a million dollars during the renovation of Serenity Manor. That's enough to keep them in prison for life!"
Edith was startled. She looked at Alexander, frightened by his cold gaze. "You're lying! They didn't do that!"
Alexander continued, "You know very well if they did. Where did all that money go? You bought houses and cars for your relatives, and even supported your son's mistress and her child. Mrs. Ellis, do you want me to continue?"
Terrified, Edith scrambled to her feet. "No, no more, Mr. Carter. We were wrong. We won't do it again. Please don't make things difficult for us ordinary people, Mr. Carter..."
Alexander said, "Just a moment ago, you were accusing us of stealing the restaurant. Why are you backing down now? Mrs. Ellis, the only reason you're out of jail is because Allison didn't want Kismet to be too heartbroken. She wanted to leave some people for the Ellis family. Since you don't appreciate it, let's just send you all to jail! Besides economic crimes, there are other charges that could keep you in prison for life!"
Alexander waved his hand dismissively, "Take them all to the police station and let the law handle this. They accuse us of bullying with power? Fine, let's show them exactly what they really are through proper legal channels."
Edith pleaded, "Mr. Carter, I know I was wrong. Please forgive me. I'll apologize to Ms. Bennett. Ms. Bennett, please help!"
Alexander waved again, and the bodyguards took everyone to the police station. Only then did Alexander stand up, straighten his clothes, and prepare to go to work. But Hunter stopped him. "Alexander, Kismet wants to see you."
Alexander turned and walked into the backyard, where Kismet stood with a cane. "Kismet, you wanted to see me?"
Kismet turned to look at him and nodded slightly. "Come with me."
Kismet walked slowly, step by step, through the corridor to the most secluded part of Serenity Manor. There was a small room where Valencia used to spend a lot of time.noveldrama

Kismet spoke directly to the photo. "Ms. Bishop, your grandson-in-law is here. I brought him to see you. Ms. Bishop, you lived an honorable life and never let the Bishop family lose its dignity. Allison has followed your teachings and is now outstanding. Ms. Bishop, you can rest easy! This is Alexander from the Carter family, Allison's boyfriend. I've observed him for a long time. He's a good man. Today, I brought him to meet you."
Alexander respectfully looked at Valencia's photo, showing he understood proper etiquette, which pleased Kismet greatly. "Valencia, my name is Alexander. I'm Allison's future husband. Although today's visit is a bit rushed, Allison and I are deeply in love. She is the most important person in my life. I will treat her well, cherish her, and never let anyone bully her. I will be a good husband and a good grandson-in-law. Please rest assured, Valencia!"
Kismet's eyes filled with tears. She wiped them with her sleeve and turned a candlestick. The wall opposite slowly opened, revealing a secret room filled with photos of deceased family members.
Kismet explained, "This is the Bishop family's memorial room. It holds photos of our deceased relatives. For hundreds of years, no matter their status, the Bishop family members have always followed the family rules and never harmed others. During national crises, they even gave up their wealth to support the country. Mr. Carter, Allison is the current head of the family. If you want to marry her, you must join our family. Are you willing?"
Alexander replied, "I am willing!"
Kismet nodded. "It seems Allison chose well. The Carter family has responsible and broad-minded people. I hope you will keep your word! The reason I brought you here today is that I want to entrust Allison to you. I'm afraid I won't be around much longer."
As she spoke, Kismet's body swayed. Alexander quickly supported her. "Kismet, don't say that. Allison cares about you the most. You need to live well, to see Allison get married and have children, even if it's just to help Valencia watch over her!"
Kismet turned to look at the photos. "But I feel so guilty. I've let Allison down. Even in death, I wouldn't be able to face Valencia! I'm a sinner!"
Kismet cried bitterly. Alexander called Hunter over, who carried Kismet to the hospital. After examining her, Henry's expression was grim. "Kismet's body isn't in good shape. Her organs are showing signs of failure. Sometimes, a person's spirit is what keeps them going. Kismet needs to stay happy for her health to improve."
