Chapter 276 Allison Brings Joy to Everyone
Allison leaned against Aubrey's shoulder, grinning. If Alexander was bad news, Aubrey would've shut it down.
Since Aubrey hadn't said a word, it meant she was cool with Alexander.
Allison said, "I've got you, you'll help me out!"
Aubrey tapped Allison's forehead, looking exasperated. "You always rely on me!"
Allison said, "I don't care, I'm sticking with you!"
Gavin came out with a plate of spaghetti and saw Aubrey chatting with them. He quickly brought the food over. "Eat while it's hot. I'll clean up the kitchen and then I'm outta here!"
Aubrey nodded, picked up a fork, and started eating. She noticed Sabrina's big, watery eyes staring at her, practically drooling, while Landon looked embarrassed.
Allison chuckled, ran to the kitchen, and came back with a big bowl. "Here, dig in!"
Aubrey smiled too. She rarely smiled, at least in Alexander's memory. But Carl, who usually felt out of place, greeted Aubrey warmly. "Ms. Watson, it's an honor to meet you!"
Aubrey smiled and said, "What a surprise to meet you, Mr. Hall! I didn't expect to see you here. How have you been all these years?"
Carl nodded. "With Allison by my side, I've been great!"
Hearing this, Aubrey smiled again. "Allison brings joy to everyone!"
When everyone finished eating and was about to leave, Aubrey and Gavin saw them off at the door. Allison took Aubrey's hand and handed her a bottle of medicine. "Aubrey, here's the new medicine I developed. Just take one each day, and when you finish, I'll bring you more. And please take care of yourself!"
With that, Allison turned and got into the car. She looked at Aubrey from inside and started crying.
Alexander held her, confused about why she was crying. "What's wrong, Allison? Are you feeling unwell?"
Allison didn't speak, but Carl did. "Ms. Watson was involved in an Interpol case about human trafficking. She was captured by the criminals and betrayed by an undercover agent. By the time we got to her, her organs had been harvested for sale. Allison saved her and found other organs for a transplant."
Alexander looked at Allison in shock. "So, the female hero forensic scientist Landon mentioned before, that was her?"
Allison nodded, her expression heavy. "I saved her life, but Aubrey will never be able to be a mother again. They had to remove her uterus. Her health hasn't been great since then, but she keeps pushing through and working. Even though Gavin is completely devoted to her, the pressure from family is really tough to handle."
Allison had felt Aubrey's hand earlier, and it was much colder than normal. This made Allison very sad. As a doctor, she couldn't save the person she cared about most. It was a terrible feeling.noveldrama
Alexander said, "Alright, don't be sad. We'll find a way together."
Allison nodded but kept crying. Carl sighed, remembering the scene of Aubrey on the operating table. He understood Allison's breakdown.
Back home, Aiden was already asleep. Allison quickly ran upstairs, afraid someone would see her puffy eyes.

When Mia got home from school, she saw Alexander sitting alone on the couch. "Hey, Alexander, you look kinda down."
Alexander looked at Mia and ruffled her hair. "Go change and come down. Felicity saved you some supper!"
Mia responded, "Okay!"
Alexander always thought girls should grow up carefree like Mia. He never imagined how tough life could be for other women.
While eating supper, Alexander asked Mia about her grades. Mia proudly shared her progress. "My grades have improved a lot. My classmates are so jealous. With Allison as my teacher, college is definitely within reach!"
Alexander shook his head. Another person who admired Allison.
When Teddy came home at midnight, he was surprised to see Alexander drinking. He had gone to school to get some materials and planned to stay home for a few days.
Teddy sat next to him. "What's going on? Did Allison kick you out?"
Alexander glared at him. "Go get a glass and drink with me!"
Teddy didn't refuse. He got a glass and poured himself a drink. "I never thought I'd see you so down. Is it because of Allison?"
"She's your aunt!" Alexander's words made Teddy laugh.

Teddy said, "Alexander, you're done for. You're in love with Allison, deeply too! But honestly, any man who meets Allison would fall for her. She's too hardworking and excellent."
Alexander looked at Teddy and clinked glasses with him. "When did you first meet Allison?"
Teddy thought for a moment. "Three years ago, I had just graduated from Dwight's program and joined his research team. Someone brought Allison to Dwight to be her mentor. I thought it was ridiculous for such a skinny girl to want to be Dwight's student. But who knew, the joke was on me!"
When Allison first met Dwight, he gave her a tough problem that Teddy and the others had been working on for three months without success. Allison solved it in three minutes. Teddy was stunned.
Dwight was impressed and told Teddy, "See? This is talent. You idiots can't learn this!"
Teddy, who thought he was a prodigy, was disheartened. He realized his talents were nothing compared to Allison's.
Teddy continued, "For three years, she's always been better than us. We all like her. Allison is kind and often helps others. Alexander, you're really lucky!"
Alexander smiled, finished his drink, and headed upstairs to rest.
He stopped at Allison's door instead of the master bedroom. He opened the door and saw her asleep on the bed.
Alexander picked her up, carried her to the master bedroom, and tucked her in. He went to the bathroom to wash up and then climbed into bed, holding Allison tightly. He took a deep breath and finally felt content.
The next morning, Aiden's shouting woke them up. "You dare steal my wine? I'll beat you, wine thief!"
Allison woke up from the noise and was about to get up, but someone held her waist. "Sleep a bit more. Don't worry about them."
