Chapter 10 The Man Who Turned the Tide
Seeing Arabella's aggressive stance, Mia got so scared she ducked behind Allison.
"Who's slandering her? Ava's just a bully. She picks on classmates all the time. If you don't believe me, ask around. And she's supposed to be a model student? No way!" Mia said, then quickly hid behind Allison again, making Allison chuckle. Mia was kind of adorable.
"Mia, this isn't your fight. Go back to class!" Allison said, but Mia shook her head fiercely.
"Allison, don't be scared. I'm not leaving. I want to clear your name!" Mia declared, her voice full of determination.
Allison was taken aback. She didn't expect this usually timid girl to stand up for her instead of running away. It was the first time someone had treated her like this.
"Mr. Callahan, they're teaming up to slander my daughter! If these two aren't expelled, I won't let this go!" Arabella demanded.
Whether it meant calling the cops or going to court, Arabella was confident she could handle it.
Magnus was in a tough spot. The Bennett Family didn't have the clout of the Davis Family, but this Mia...
"Mrs. Davis, we need to get the facts straight. We should check the classroom surveillance to see who's really at fault, right?" Magnus said, making it clear that any expulsion needed solid proof.
But Arabella didn't care. Since Ava was on the losing end, she wanted to make sure these two girls paid.
"Mrs. Davis, Mia just said Ava started it. How can you expel Allison without knowing the full story?" Nola chimed in. She liked Allison, and she knew Ava had bullied other students before.
"Is it that I can't tell right from wrong, or are you just biased? I don't care what perks you got from their parents. If they're not expelled today, I'll make sure everyone knows and take it to court. Let's see who ends up in trouble then!" Arabella shout back.
As Arabella got more arrogant, Mia became more defiant. "Allison, don't worry. I called my uncle. He's really powerful and won't let them get away with this!"
Allison curled her lips, surprised that the shy girl had even called for backup. But who was her uncle?
She wasn't worried about being expelled. In school, you needed solid evidence to expel someone. If it came down to the police, the surveillance footage would clear things up. Arabella was just causing a scene.
"What's going on here?" James said, pushing the door open. He'd heard Arabella's rant from outside and didn't look happy.
Seeing James, Allison just frowned at first. But when she saw Alexander behind him, she was surprised.
Alexander didn't expect to see Allison either, and his eyes showed it.novelbin
"James, why are you here? And who is this?" Magnus didn't recognize Alexander but knew James.
James smiled at Allison. "Ms. Bennett, what a coincidence!"
Was it really a coincidence? Allison looked at him blankly, then turned her gaze to Alexander.
"I heard someone was getting expelled?" James asked Arabella.
"Who else? These two brats. They ganged up and beat my daughter. They should be expelled!" Arabella said, eyeing Alexander and James.
She probably didn't think they were worth her attention, so she got even more arrogant, asking, "Are you two their hired help? They've messed with the Davis Family. Everyone in Skycrest knows the Davis Family. I suggest you back off. They're not someone you want to cross!"

Alexander frowned and turned to James. "The Davis Family? Ever heard of them? Are they a big deal?"
James rolled his eyes. "Nope. I don't know about this so-called powerful family in Skycrest."
Arabella sneered, "You don't even know the Davis Family and dare to act tough? You're asking for trouble! Do you believe I can ruin you with just one phone call and kick you out of Skycrest?" James chuckled at her boldness. Making Alexander lose everything and leave Skycrest? This woman was delusional. "Is the Davis Family really that powerful?"
"Of course. Are you scared now? If you are, take these two girls and get out of the school. Better yet, leave Skycrest," Arabella said, full of herself.
Alexander's eyes stayed on Allison. She still had that cool, distant look, but she was shielding Mia, which caught him off guard.
Arabella added, "Of course, if they want to stay in school, they need to behave. If they kneel and apologize to my daughter, I'll let it slide this time!" Teenagers valued their pride the most, and Arabella was being outrageously arrogant.
"Mrs. Davis, isn't that a bit much?" Magnus tried to be the voice of reason, but Arabella wasn't having it.
She retorted, "What's wrong with it? They crossed the Davis Family and should pay the price. This will teach them who not to mess with!"
In the crowd, Yasmin smirked. This was exactly what she wanted. If Allison got expelled, she wouldn't be able to stay in Skycrest.
"You messed with the wrong people and must pay the price. James, call the head of the Davis Family!" Alexander said coldly.
The head of the Davis Family was Patrick Davis. Arabella didn't believe this young man could get Patrick on the phone.
But soon, the call connected. Alexander picked up, his eyes cold.
"Patrick, your daughter-in-law is quite something, demanding my niece kneel and apologize. I didn't know you had such power in Skycrest." With that, Alexander hung up.
Soon, the office cleared out, and the students outside were dispersed. Magnus was sweating. The only person in Skycrest who could talk to Patrick like that was Alexander from the Carter Family.
Arabella's phone rang, and she got an earful. Watching her tremble, Allison glanced at Alexander again.
To turn the situation around so quickly, this man was no ordinary person. It seemed the Carter Family truly held the power in Skycrest. Allison suddenly wanted nothing to do with Alexander, simply because it seemed troublesome. "Mr. Carter, I'm sorry. I apologize. I'm really sorry."
Arabella knelt and apologized, but Alexander didn't even look at her. "In three days, take your daughter and get out of Skycrest. If you don't, the Davis Family will lose everything."
Arabella collapsed to the ground, finally realizing whom she had provoked. This was Alexander, a well-known figure in Skycrest. Who would have thought that Mia was from the Carter Family?
Alexander turned to Magnus. "The Carter Family doesn't want Mia's background exposed, so whatever happened in this office today, I hope the school can keep it under wraps." Magnus nodded. "Rest assured, Mr. Carter, we'll keep it a secret."
Nola also nodded. Who would have thought it would turn out like this?
