Chapter 986
The news of Brittany's kidnapping spread through Craneville like wildfire, stirring up a widespread commotion.
Yuri rallied every resource he could muster, dedicating all his energy to tracking down Isaac's whereabouts.
A wrecked car was found at the bottom of a cliff, its shape grotesquely twisted. The police struggled to pry it open, only to find it empty.
Isaac had vanished without a trace.
According to the car's dash cam footage, Isaac, severely injured and tumbling down the cliffside, had slim chances of survival. The police scoured a thirty-mile radius in full force.
Some of Isaac's belongings, including a ring, were recovered, but beyond these items, there was no further trace of him.
"Mr. Lynette," the officer said gravely, "considering the current circumstances, it's highly likely that Mr. Isaac Salter is no longer with us."
Badly hurt and fallen off a cliff, the odds of being alive were slim.
They had searched for miles around and found no sign of Isaac. And the area, scarcely trodden by human feet, made it almost impossible for anyone to have rescued him.
Yuri slammed his fist on the table, his face clouded with anger. "No matter what, you need to find him!"
Even if he had no love for Isaac, he was still his grandson's father. He couldn't just stand by and do nothing!
Not wanting to cross Yuri, the police embarked on a second search.
Three days passed without any new leads.
Yuri entrusted the Lynette family affairs to Holden, while he stayed at the hospital beside Brittany.
Brittany had suffered a head injury and was recovering from surgery, still unconscious.
Yuri kept vigil day and night until even the butler couldn't bear to watch anymore. "Mr. Lynette, perhaps you should go home and rest?"
The doctors had said it would be some time before Brittany would wake.

"Yes," the butler whispered, "it was someone from Leila's family."
Leila?
Yuri snorted coldly. "I haven't touched her family, and they dare lay a hand on my daughter?"
The butler was also surprised by Leila's audacity. Knowing how much Mr. Lynette cared, yet she still targeted Brittany!
Brittany's condition was precarious.
Yuri had engaged the best medical team, insisting on 24-hour monitoring, fearing the slightest mishap.
During a brief respite, he made a personal visit to Leila's estate.
Leila hadn't expected Brittany to be so lucky as to survive such an ordeal!
Her frustration was palpable.
However, witnessing the formidable effort of the Lynette family to find Isaac and fearing her own misdeeds would be uncovered, she immediately booked a flight, planning to flee Craneville. Yet, before she could even leave her house, Yuri blocked her path inside her own villa.
"Going somewhere?" Yuri's eyes were cold and menacing.
Leila, once passionate in her love for him, now recoiled in fear, stepping back. "Yuri, why are you here?"
Yuri stepped into the villa, an icy aura surrounding him. With a sudden move, he grabbed Leila by the throat. "Who gave you the courage to harm my daughter?"
Leila's screams filled the air as she struggled in vain.
Yuri, a regular at the gym, was not to be underestimated in strength. Leila stood no chance against him. Her face quickly turned pale as her eyes rolled back in terror. "Yuri, I admit my wrongs...I truly do..." Leila had no choice but to beg for mercy.
As Yuri listened to her apologies, he flung Leila violently to the floor. She lay there, too pained to speak.
Looking down at her, Yuri stated coldly, "Leila, you've messed with my daughter. Now wait for your family to pay the price alongside you!"
"Immediately submit the evidence of her embezzlement and her suspected involvement in hiring a hitman to the police."
