“I’m going to kill that bastard!” Joshua uttered in anger.

“Go, kill that bastard and you will be put behind bars instead of him.” Gabriel said while tapping on his

laptop. “Danielle and your baby will suffer.” He added.

“But I have you, Gab!” Joshua insisted.

“Yes, you may have me. And I can even alter evidences but that doesn’t mean that I will just let you do

something you will regret forever.” Gabriel said. “You know my rules, man. Even if we are friends, I will

not help you.” He added.

“Stop that already!” Rafael butted in. “The best thing that we should do is to plan again.” He added still

irritated with the fact that someone tip John about their plan and now the man is in hiding.

They spent the whole week finding where John is hiding. They thought that they can execute their plan

smoothly but they were wrong. John is no longer in his home when they attempted to arrest him, they

were on a stake-out for days but John is nowhere to be found.

“I already sent agents to the Montereal home.” Gabriel informed Josh and looked at Rafa. “By the way,

Rafa, I also sent additional agents to your parents house.” Gabriel said making him frown. “There are

people asking information about your wife, and are attempting to enter the subdivision.” He added

making him puzzled.

“And who would do that?” Rafael asked.

“A certain Shin Lim.” Gabriel answered. “The undercover agent acquired that Amber is still paying the

five million debt of her father.”

“But that’s impossible!” Lohan butted in. “The debt is already cleared!”

“According to the agent, Shin wanted to have the Santiago’s family heirloom.” Gabriel looked at Rafael.

“Do you have any idea where it is?”

“A family heirloom?” Rafael is puzzled. “Amber didn’t mention anything about this.” He added and

looked at Lohan. “Do you have any idea about this?”

“I—”

“Guys!” It was Phil who just entered the room they are currently staying and took a seat beside Rafa.

“Have you heard of this so-called Peacock’s eye?” He asked. “It has been the talk of the country lately.”

He added as he looks for a certain page in the magazine. “Here!” He showed them the picture.

“This is…” Rafael murmured in surprised. He cannot be mistaken, the one in the picture is the same as

the necklace that Amber brought in an antique store, at least that was what Amber told him.

“That is the peacock’s eye.” Lohan said firmly. “The family heirloom of the Santiago’s that has been

passed down from generations to generations.” He added.

“Damn!” Rafael cursed. He doesn’t know a single damn thing about his wife.

“I am not in the position to tell you things, man.” Lohan said. “It is better that Amber will tell you her

story.”

“But man! That heirloom is worth billions of dollars, it says here in the magazine that a Duke from Spain

who is arranged to be wed meet a woman in vacation and he feel for her, and he fights for his love.

Then the Duke’s father was amazed by his son’s bravery and gave him the peacock’s eye and told him

to give it to the woman he marries. It has been like that for generations, the eldest son will inherit the

heirloom and will present it to his wife.” Phil said. “The necklace was never been found after the

Santiago’s massacre years ago. It is said that the murderer took it.”

“No.” Lohan said. “The murderer never found it at the ancestral house, since it already was given to

Amber’s mother.” Lohan said. “I don’t know if it is the right term to say but, Amber and her parents are

fortunate that their flight from Spain was delayed.”

“The peacock’s eye… Amber gave it to me.” Rafael said and all eyes are in him. “No, its more likely, I

took it from her. She told me that she brought it from an antique store and it worth 1.5 million making

her withdraw the two million I deposited on her account. She even showed me set of jewelries and

clothes.”

“Then she used the money to pay Shin Lim.” Gabriel said while staring at his laptop.

“More likely, yes.” Rafael said.

“So, where did you put the heirloom?” Joshua asked.

“I kept in my safe back in Manila.” Rafael answered. “Oh, Gab, can you send agents at my house in

Manila? There is a chance that they would go there, especially now that they’re aware of my

relationship with Amber.”

“Sure thing.” Gabriel said.

“Thanks man!” Rafael said. “We will pay you back when the time comes.”

“We can arrange a date for you.” Josh suggested.

“Yes, my mother can arrange a blind date for you.” Phil agreed.

“No need. Women are just pain in the butt.” Gabriel said.

“Or you still haven’t forgotten about her?” Lohan asked making them shut up. Gabriel even flinched.

“It is not the right time to talk about things like that.” Gabriel said and close his laptop. “We still have a

mission to do.” Gabriel stood up and walk towards the room he’s occupying.

“He’s hopeless.” Lohan said.

“He has the ability to look for her but why didn’t he do so?” Phil asked with curiosity.

“Gab actually looked for her and ended up broken.” Joshua said. “Until now he is still hurting but he

didn’t show it.” He added and they all sighed.

“Hopefully, he can find a woman to open up his heart again.” Rafael said. “The right woman can

change a man.”

“You are all aware that I can hear you guys from here, right?” Gabriel, who is leaning on the wall,

crossed arms butted in, they looked at his direction.

They looked at each other before Phil stood up and approached Gabriel.

“Gab, my man!” Phil said smiling widely as he puts his arm on Gab’s shoulder. “Is there a lead about

John’s whereabouts?” He asked as if nothing happened.

“Fuck off!” Gabriel said and pushed him before entering his room and loudly closed the door.

They just shrugged and sigh. They only have one wish for their friend, and that is to totally move in

from his past and be happy.

“There is already a lead about John’s whereabout!” Gabriel suddenly sprang the door open making

them shocked, his phone is in his ears. “But he’s already in Manila.” Then he slowly frowned as he puts

his phone in his pocket. “Fuck! We need to move fast, he is going to Spain.” He informed making them

curse. They never once thought that he might go to other country and to make things worse, they are

still in Baguio. “I will send agents to the airport.” He added while typing fast on his laptop.

“What should we do?” Joshua asked worried of the outcome.

“Let’s just let him think that he already past through us.” Gabriel said. “If ever we didn’t make it in time,

my agents will capture him.”

“My private jet is on its way.” Phil said while holding his phone. “Let’s all wait at Loakan airport. It is a

good thing that Tyron is available.”

“Tyron?” Lohan asked. “That Tyron Cruz, who owns the famous Storm Airlines?”

“Yeah. We meet a year or two due to business, basically he became my friend.” Phil answered. “He is

also a pilot and he will be our pilot for today.”

“Good! Let’s pack our things then.” Gabriel said.

Rafael is about to enter his room when Gab called him.

“How is Amber?” Rafael asked.

“The housekeepers noticed that she is always lost in thoughts and flinched every time the telephone

rings. There are also mysterious calls around the house. At first, they thought that it was just prank

calls but they heard Amber yelling at someone on the phone.” Gabriel said. “And Julian said that Amber

is being suspicious in every slightest thing.”

“Damn!” Rafael cursed.

“You can go to her now.” Gabriel suggested.

“No, there is something I must be sure of.” Rafael answered. “I have to get something back in Manila.”

He added. He is not quite sure why he wanted to go back to his house.
