The Alpha Vampire

…Cassidy POV…

Lucas is off fighting some monster and has forbidden me to leave the room. It saddens my heart that he shall treat me this way. I honestly thought that he would have been more open to the idea of having a child since the last time went so horribly wrong. Instead, he is raging mad; I don’t think I have ever heard him boil with so much anger deep inside.

He nearly killed me.

That alone tells me how disappointed he is with my actions, yet, I also disobeyed him as the Vampire Master. I do tend to forget that small detail as time passes. All I see him as is my beloved, the man I love, not the man that rules us all.

But this man is now furious, and I am anticipating further words when he returns from his hunt. Now from what the Winchester boys mentioned, that they are indeed going to battle a rather strong opponent. It does worry my mind, for I know that Lucas’s head is not where it should be at present.

I know that he had gone back to speak to John on exactly what is going in, the process, and how it is supposed to play out. So he knows that this is not just something that will fail and go away. He is about to become a father, and I can only imagine how scared he is at the moment.

So at this moment in my time, I have snuck out.

Yes, I am going to be dead if Lucas has to come home and find that I have gone. But the opportunity presented itself. Lilith has gone out to feed, and we have not seen Roberto for days now, so I am only running to the Hospital for a brief minute, and then I will be back even before Lilith returns.

So it is with great anticipation that I navigate my way through the streets to my destination. The rain is coming down rather hard and pounding on my skin, but the only thing that I care for now is to see my child.

I can still not believe it every time I say that word; when Eva and I froze our eggs, we did not really think that we would ever do anything with them someday. But when Roberto, well, more the Demon that possessed him, told me about Lucas’s Legacy, I knew that I just had to do something about it.

So yes, I tricked my lover and took the essential bits that we needed to make the miracle in that vacuum. Though it did fail the first two times, we finally got it right, and we stood there for a whole day and watched how the tiny fetus started slowly growing. The feeling that radiated from my body was like something I don’t think you can compare to a single word.

My only wish now is for Lucas to feel the very same.

If he could only be walking this path with me now, it would make me the happiest Vampire in the world.

But walking is someone that has been following me for the last five minutes. At first, I thought it was just someone that crossed paths, but the persistent click-clack has convinced me otherwise. So not to show the man, for his steps are deep, I turn off down an alley. If I need to strike, then at least I would be under cover of darkness.

So I turn to my left, and to prepare myself, I close my black umbrella; if need be, I can poke him while I can get safely away. I will be in so much more trouble if Lucas finds out that I have killed a mortal that I was not feeding from. And I really do not have the time to scuffle with a man who clearly does not know what he is dealing with.

For helpless, I am definitely not.

As I enter the alley, I pick my pace up with a few faster steps closer to each other, but the man only but increases his as well. I can clearly smell his musky cologne as he is closing in on me.

How is that even possible?

I am moving with haste as my body is nearly floating with a speed through the air. Yet, this man is keeping close to me. I guess that a battle and even death can not be avoided now.

And with that, I stop completely and spin on my heels to face the stranger that has been following me, but as I come to face him, I am completely shocked, “Roberto?”

“Cassidy,” I nod his head as he comes closer to me. Then with much amusement on his face, he continues. “I thought as per Lilith that Lucas has ordered you to confines of your room? Now since when has an alley become the place where you rest?”

I only but grind on my teeth as I do not find his comment the least bit amusing, “I just come for some fresh air.”

“Fresh air,” he looks up and down the alley. Then he speaks again, “I am sure that you could have opened a simple window. Do you have any idea what Lucas is going to do with you when he finds out that you have disobeyed him?”

“Please do not remind me,” there is a chill that goes up my spine as I clearly recall how he nearly killed me, but “There is somewhere I have to be. Please, I beg, will you not tell Lucas?”

He looks at me for what feels like the longest minute, and with that, he shakes his head, “You are coming home with me.”

“Please, Roberto, I need to see him.” I immediately realize what I have said and try to correct my mistake, “I mean, I need to get out; I am going crazy in that room.”

“Cassidy,” Roberto only but chuckles at me, “You are the worst liar I have ever come across. Now tell me, what are you up to now?”

Well, I cannot tell Roberto what is really going on; Lucas will then really make sure that I turn into a pile of ashes. But he is not going to let me go if I do not tell him where I am headed. Why does everything with these Lecarde boys have to be so difficult? At least, apart from when he was possessed, Roberto does not have the same temper that Lucas has.

So I think I can trust him?

I am sure Lucas will not be upset; well, Lucas is never going to find out.

“Roberto, can you keep a secret?”

I bite into his bottom lip as if he is in deep thought, then he cocks his head, “Explain? Because you know that Lucas can not only read our minds, but I am not going to lie to my brother.”

“Well, he knows about where I am going; the thing is that he has just told me not to go here.”

“So you do exactly what Cassidy does best? The very opposite?”

My frustration with him is now becoming somewhat annoying; he is now just wasting my time; I could have been there and back home before Lilith returns. For all, I know Lucas has already discovered that I am not where I am supposed to be. He will know exactly where to come to find me.

Now, if Roberto will only listen, “Please, Roberto. You would have found out about this anyway, so you will just find out sooner now.”

“You are starting to make me worry about what you have got yourself involved in. Please don’t tell me it is something illegal.”

“Well,” I stop for a brief moment for I realize, “Yes, I think it is very illegal what I have done. But you will understand once you have seen him.”

“Him? Have you turned a man?”

“No, please come.”

With that, very reluctantly, Roberto agrees to walk with me to the Hospital. The closer we get, the more uneasy he becomes. So with a frown on his face, he turns to me, “What have you done here? Please don’t tell me that you are taking blood?”

“NO!” My immediate answer to him echoes down the street. We have now come close to the door where I will sneak in to get to the small little room where John and our baby are at. I have still not let John return home, I know it is cruel of me, but he needs to make sure that my child survives.

So not concerned about Roberto that is starting to feel on edge, I pick up my pace towards the door, which strangely enough seems to be open tonight. It should never be open. Not even if John came out of it, that door should always be shut.

I look over to Roberto, “Something is wrong.”

So as I approach the entrance, slipping through the door unseen, I make my way to the small little room. But before I can even get there, I get that same feeling that something does not seem right.

There is an awful noise coming from the corner on my left, and as I step closer to inspect, I can smell the most godawful smell lingering in the air.NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
