Chapter 7174
"Aargh!" Maria's shrill and terrified screams somehow brought everyone to their senses.
They could see her skeleton fall apart. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
Maria was still screaming hysterically after her head, the only good part left of her body, plopped onto the pile of bones on the ground.
Everyone was paralyzed with fear at the sight before them. Maria was the chief commissioner at Goyoan Temple and Lord Goyo's close aide. She once represented Lord Goyo in exercising his authority across the different realms, but someone managed to put Maria in such a horrific state.
Meanwhile, an ashen-faced Dorvus was shaking all over like a leaf in the wind. His legs threatened to give way at any moment.
Behind him, the gods of the Four Seasons had prostrated themselves. They kept their heads low, trembling and sobbing quietly out of fear.
Divine beings like them were not afraid of death since it meant they would either have to start over again or they would cease to exist completely.
However, they feared ending up like Maria, who could continue to exist but suffer an eternity of pain, humiliation, and torture.
"Dorvus! Shouldn't you say something already? Why are we fighting each other when we're all on Emperor Qadeer's team?" Salim, who collapsed in a heap on the ground, bellowed furiously at that moment.
The meridians in his body were all severed, and he had lost all of his cultivation. Salim could not even lift a finger in his current state.
Dorvus cursed inwardly upon hearing Salim's words. He could not fathom why Salim would blatantly mention his name at a moment like this.
When he sensed James' intense gaze directed toward him, Dorvus flinched and got down on his knees. "Commander... I... I mean, Divine Emperor! I'm sure there's been some misunderstanding."
He lifted the Marauder Token. "Kneel! All of you! We have our supreme commander here!"
In the presence of the Marauder Token, all of the remaining Marauder Warriors immediately got down on one knee.
Lesia, Yianni, and Morgott who were disguised as Marauder Warriors knelt as well. The tens of thousands of Alcide beings standing to one side were visibly flustered.
"Come on! Kneel!" Lazaro, one of the leaders, made an example by getting down on his knees first.
Emperor Kristopher dropped to his knees as well. "Hurry and kneel if you don't want to die."
Eventually, all of the divine beings knelt before James. However, it was obvious that the Alcide beings were quite reluctant to do it.
Anyhow, it did not matter who they were or what kind of status these men had when they were facing someone with greater power.
That person could easily kill any one of them with a snap of his fingers.
James paid no mind to those people.
He waved his hand and cast a ball of energy toward Harper, who stood somewhere in the distance behind him.
Then, James treaded toward Dorvus.
Once she was enveloped in the ball of energy, Harper noticed that her injuries were swiftly healed. A fiery red robe had magically appeared, draped over her body. She turned her gaze to James right away. Her eyes were bright with joy and admiration.
On the other hand, Dorvus felt as though the shadows of death were approaching him as James slowly headed in his direction.
"Mr. Hosentia." James stopped in front of Dorvus and stared at his prostrated form. "You should probably offer US an explanation now."
Dorvus shivered in fear as he lifted his head. "Commander... No. Divine Emperor, it was all a misunderstanding. We were just carrying out orders that were given to US."
"Oh. Who gave you those orders?" James asked flatly.
Dorvus' brows twitched. "His Majesty, of course..."
