Kai’s POV

Wearing a crisp white shirt and black slacks with hair neatly gelled back, I blew out a puff of air before bracing up myself for what was to come next.

Sitting in the car, I noticed Tyra’s car pull over and an extremely skinny, pale skinned girl get out of it, as if she was a walking skeleton.

However, that did not diminish her beauty any less and knowing that I was the reason behind her frail heath, made my Lycan whimper in distress.

Howling in my head and admonishing me for being too harsh on our Alpha princess, he refused to stay with me any more and an involuntary cry escaped my lips when he left me !

“I will not come back before you and the Lycan princess reunite. With me, all your supernatural powers shall go too. Live like a pure human till then. This is your punishment for rejecting our mate and my Snow”, he cursed before my head went absolutely empty.

My cry must have brought Bella’s attention towards my car but I was quick to duck under my seat and prevent her from seeing my Lycan-less, sorry state with eyes rimming red and face blotched with embarrassing tears.

“Fuck you, Dexter”, I cursed the infuriating Beta Lycan. “If I can stay without my mate, then I can stay without you !”, I angrily said in my head’s now empty space and vowed to adamantly keep my ground.

Even if the entire universe plotted against me and tried to bring me to my lowest, then too shall I show everyone that I did not need anyone to live.

In the past, I never had anyone, now too I had no one and even if in the future I did not have anyone then I was fucking fine with that too !

With that pep talk, I brought my head back in the game and tried to forget about losing my Lycan and mate, so that I could atleast save my job at hand as I was certainly useless to the supernatural world as a pure human now.

No rejected Alpha would want a Beta like me around her too.

So I had to fight with all my might to atleast have some saving grace in this dimension.

With that final thought, I stepped out of my car after Bella had gone inside and Tyra had pulled out of the area too.

Afterall, I did not want anyone to sense that I had lost my Lycan and I was at my most fragile and vulnerable state at the moment.

Alright, Kai. Go in there and do your best. It is do or die afterall, I pumped up myself before I opened the glass doors to either my job’s doom or miraculous save.

Kai’s POV

“Hi ! I am Kai Grayson. I am here for the Disciplinary Board Meeting”, I introduced myself at the reception.

It was not a coincidence that I had walked up to the reception desk after making sure that Bella had gone up the elevator.

“Hello Sir !”, the pretty, petite receptionist greeted me. “The meeting is on the top most floor which is the 25th floor but it won’t start for the next one hour atleast. We deeply apologize for the convenience. The Director had to leave for an emergency meeting in the morning. However, you can make yourself comfortable in the conference room”, she said with a smile.

“I can come back after an hour if you want or wait in the lobby”, I suggested or rather, pleaded internally so that I was not alone with my rejected mate.

If anything I wanted to be as far away from her as possible at the moment.

“I am afraid but I can not let you go, Sir. The instructions were clear enough that everyone be directed to be seated before the Director and the entire panel came. However, if you need anything, especially with your schedule afterwards, you can call me !”, she giggled as she wrote her number across my arm.

“Thanks gorgeous !!”, I winked at her before pulling down my sleeve, making her blush and giggle even more.

I chuckled inwardly but then remembered on reaching the elevator area that I was in no mood to go up. So I decided to kill an hour’s time by doing guess what ?!

Ding, ding, ding !

Correct !!

After meandering here and there around the lift area, I found the door to the fire escape staircase and looked up to see it spiral a long way to the top.

That’s it !

All I had to do was to climb the stairs slowly and go to the board room just in time !!

And hence started my perfect journey to the top of the building, save for the fact that I had not considered the option of finding someone whom I was evading in the first place !

“HEY THERE, GORGEOUS”, she spat out when she lurked out of the shadows with crossed hands in front of her chest on the 7th fucking floor.

Ofcourse the term “gorgeous” was used to mock at me for what I had said to the beauty handling the front desk and scribbler of my arm.

Pfft !

Someone seemed to be battling the green coloured monster of jealousy and I was not going to bother explaining my actions to someone who had no business in my life any more !!

Dominic’s POV

“Hey there, Domz !! Did you miss me, baby ?”, the infuriating whacko asked while tracing her long nailed finger on my face and lingering it on my lower lip.

“I am sorry but I did not catch your name. What did you tell me, it was ?”, I asked and the whole group with me smirked at my retort, especially when the nutty woman gasped and looked at me in shock.

Honestly, her constant nuttiness was starting to wear me down already and my patience with her was wearing thin at the same time too.

“Cassy ! Cassy Monroe !! How could you forget my name ?”, she pouted while twirling her hair, which she surely meant to look cute but her lips swelled up to look as if they had been bitten by a huge hive of bees. Uck !

“As you said before, I missed- missed your name”, I exasperately said before walking away from her and she gaped at me in shocked anger.

“How dare you treat your girlfriend like that, Dominic”, she screamed while throwing a hissy fit so that everyone could hear the drama whore declare me as exclusively as hers.

Gawwddd.

I gritted my teeth and turned around but as soon as I did, the annoying ape jumped up my torso and crashed her lips on mine while her companion hiding behind an open locker door filmed the entire scene.

As the psychotic bitch tried to exchange her nasty saliva with mine, I dug into her memories during our physical contact and found what I was looking for !

So she was the one behind the video leak afterall.

How did I miss such an important detail ?

Ofcourse the video was sent by this fucking bitch of a party animal before I erased everyone’s memories at the club on my mates’ 18th birthdays.

No wonder she was trying the same trick on me again by filming us kissing and sending it to Bella to create more misunderstandings !

Ughh.

This manipulative hussy.

I was so going to ruin her life now.

Tyra’s POV

“Amanda ? I mean Ms Pierce ? Good Morning !! What are you doing here ? I thought you were on vacation for you know what”, I suggestively wriggled my eyebrows and shrugged.

Amanda chuckled as she walked down the corridor.

“Dylan is on vacation. Not me. I have a job to keep and save”, she grinned.

“I don’t understand why you and Kai would want to teach when you guys are already Richie Rich, powerful creatures and need not slave away your youth amongst us brats !!”, I exclaimed making her laugh.

“Maybe this is the place where we seek solace away from the supernatural world’s highly magnified problems ?”, she answered with a laugh but then frowned, turning serious suddenly. “I guess this is our sanctuary in a way. Kai found meaning to his life in this place and so did I, away from the Dark Overlord’s cruel palace. I sighed and shook my head.

The exit was not that way but the washroom sure was.

Guess I had a meeting near the flushes and sinks now.
