Tangled Temptations

Eloise can be a bit of a hothead sometimes.

After the small conflict happened between them, she had been giving him the silent treatment.

She took a bath, washing away the grime from the kitchen, and then did some skincare.

Harvey had been good to her. She'd only moved in a couple of days ago and he'd already sent over several sets of high-end skincare products. Eloise didn't ask, she just ripped them open and started using them, figuring it was probably his little way of making amends.

Who doesn't love soft, smooth skin, right?

After moisturizing her upper body, she bent over to do her legs. Eloise had quite the figure and even this simple action was alluring.

And allure Harvey it did.

He strolled over, boldly wrapping his arms around her from behind. Eloise jumped, but she didn't push him away, letting him have his way.

After a while, he whispered into her ear, "Is it that time of the month?"noveldrama

Eloise figured his anger had subsided and played along, "It'll start tonight."

Harvey paused, but kept pressed against her back as if eager to chat. "What do you want to do after the lawsuit is over? You can't just stick with one student, Blake Bowen, can you?"

Eloise's mind was a bit scrambled, but she followed his train of thought, "Once this is all over, I want to teach somewhere else."

Harvey nipped lightly at her ear.

"What if I send you to Britain to study after a while?"

Eloise sobered up a bit, catching the implications in his words.

Their relationship wasn't going to last. Once he got bored, he'd send her abroad. It was part compensation, part getting her out of Max's way so as not to affect Orlena's marriage.

Eloise didn't naively ask if he'd visit her abroad.

She knew, he wouldn't.

The moment he sent her away would be their end.

If that was his rule, Eloise was willing to play along. She wasn't a clueless girl.

Maybe because Eloise was so docile, Harvey was in a good mood. He started chatting about some juicy gossip while stroking her skin, making Eloise blush and weak in the knees.

She was so soft, so adorable.

Harvey turned her around, pushing her against the mirror as he kissed her. This

kiss was different from the others, full of raw passion...

Eloise thought he was a beast.

She'd never doubt Attorney Horigan's stamina again. The man was a powerhouse!

Just as they were getting cozy, Eloise's phone rang.

The caller ID showed it was Veronica.

She pushed Harvey away, "I... need to take this."

Harvey handed her the phone and turned on the speakerphone in front of her. Sometimes, Eloise thought Harvey could be quite childish. Their relationship didn't exactly require full disclosure.

She didn't hide, she started talking to Veronica.

"Hello?"

Veronica frowned on the other end, "Eloise, what's up with your voice?"

"What? Nothing."

Veronica teased her, "If I didn't know you're single, I'd think you're with a man... you know!"

Eloise's face turned beet-red and she cursed under her breath.

Harvey leaned in, whispering, "She's not wrong, you know!"

Scared Veronica might hear, Eloise held her robe in place while scampering into the bedroom, "Veronica, I need to talk to you about something. Can we meet up tomorrow?"

Thanks to Harvey's help, the Laurent family's assets had been restored. Eloise wanted to pay Veronica back.

Veronica had heard Angus Laurent was released and she was happy for Eloise.

After a bit more chitchat, Veronica revealed the real reason for her call, "I have two things to tell you! Do you know Velona Corporation is under attack? My husband told me Max is in trouble, he might even go to jail! Serves him right... it's so satisfying."

Mentioning Max, Eloise worried Harvey might get upset.
