TAMING THE BEAST IN HIM ( His Red Phoenix )

Axion, with his eyes still closed, reached out his hand running it on the bed. When he couldn’t feel Phoenix beside him, he quickly opened his eyes. Not seeing her on the bed, he sat up.

” Where did she go? ”

As last night came playing in his mind, a tiny smile crept up his lips. A scoff left his lips as he couldn’t believe a time like last night will come but to his surprise, he doesn’t regret It, not even one bit.

But then, his smile vanished swiftly when something flashed through his mind. He got down from the bed and headed to the bathroom to take a refreshing bath.

Turning on the hot shower, he closed his eyes as the hot water poured on him. Once again, last night came into his mind. Everything that happened started to be recalled. Their hug, kiss, touch, everything. Running his hand through his chest, he imagined it to Phoenix and that made his body loosen up. He could still feel her soft touches and kisses making him groan.

He started remembering the other night, their first night together. The night he took her virginity. Guilt struck his heart as he remembered accusing Phoenix of drugging him. He didn’t even let her explain.

” I really don’t care if you’re a beast or Dark Genie or the Devil’s son, whatever it is. All I know is that I want to stay with you, Axion. As a beast, I want you. As a Dark Genie, I want you. And even as the Devil’s son, I still want you “Phoenix’s words came playing in his mind making him snap his eyes open.

” No ” He nodded negatively.

He can’t let Phoenix love him. He doesn’t deserve someone like her. She is only going to keep getting hurt if she loves someone like him and he can’t let that happen. She shouldn’t get hurt again because of him. She deserves someone better.

” I’m sorry, Phoenix ”

Phoenix on the other hand was downstairs, preparing breakfast for her and Axion. She had a broad smile plastered on her lips. Last night was like a dream come true to her. Even though Axion never said those words, she could see in his eyes that he doesn’t loathe her anymore.

She was done and was about to head upstairs to check on Axion when she saw him climbing down. He was all dressed up like he was going somewhere. She immediately rushed up to him.

” Axion ” She called with a broad smile.

But then her smile faded away instantly as Axion without even sparing her a glance, walk past her and left the house.

A sharp stabbing pain cut through Phoenix’s heart and her lips parted in shock. She managed to swallow the painful lump in her throat. Did he just walk past her like nothing happened? Does he not remember what happened last night?

Two days went by really fast and Axion was still ignoring Phoenix. He wasn’t just ignoring her, he was avoiding her like she was a pandemic. Phoenix couldn’t take his silence anymore. It was fucking killing her.

How could he be acting like she was a total stranger to him?

When Axion made to walk past her, as usual, today, Phoenix clutched his wrist and pulled him back.

” That’s enough Axion! ”

” Why the heck have you been avoiding me for two days now? Did I do anything to annoy you? ” She demanded. Their gaze locked and Axion’s heart skipped. He couldn’t deny he has missed her a lot these two days but there’s no way he was admitting that.

He pushed Phoenix’s hand off and made to leave but she stood in his way.

” You haven’t answered my question yet, Axion? ” Phoenix glared at him.

” I don’t owe you an answer ” He answered plainly.

” Have you forgotten about our night together? Does it not mean anything to you? ” Phoenix asked.

” I don’t want to talk about it ” Axion looked away, trying to avoid her gaze.

” Why? Is it because you’ve realized you love me and don’t want to accept it? ” Axion’s heart immediately jumped and he looked at Phoenix.

” You shouldn’t think so highly of yourself, Phoenix. What happened still doesn’t change the fact that I hate you ” He glared at her. Staring deep and intently into his eyes, Phoenix could detect he was lying. His eyes say otherwise.

And that night when he kissed her, even though it was raining and dark, she could remember his eyes peering into hers with love. She knew he doesn’t hate her anymore.

Smirking, she stepped closer and took his hands, placing them on her waist. She leaned forward and brushed his lips gently on his before trailing the kiss up to his ear.

” Prove it, Axion. Prove to me that you still hate me ” She whispered to him. Axion tightened his grip on her waist, trying extremely hard not to react to her kiss but his body failed him. He shuddered at the feeling of her soft lips on his and he closed his eyes, letting out a slight groan.

Seeing his reaction, the smirk on Phoenix’s lips widened. It became even more convincing to her he was lying. She cupped his face and tilted his head up making Axion open his eyes.

” I can see it in your eyes Axion, your love for me. You can’t hide it ” She said and that was when Axion came back to his senses.

Shit, what was he doing?!

He quickly pushed her off, glaring at her.

” Stay within your boundaries, Phoenix. You don’t want me to remind you of it the hard way ” He warned and made to leave when,

” You can’t pretend to hate someone you love, Axion ” Phoenix chuckled lightly. Not wanting to say anything, he left.

Watching his retreating figure a snort left Phoenix’s lips and she folded her arms.

” Mark my words Axion, I’m going to make you admit you love me. I will make you say those three words to me without you even realizing it ”

Phoenix was surprised to see Axion downstairs watching a movie. This was her first time seeing him do that and decided to join him. But on getting close, she was able to discern it was a horror movie.

Her heart skipped in fear instantly. She hated horror movies and was scared of scary or spooky. She wanted to go back upstairs but wanting to spend time with Axion, she chose to stay.

Crouching on the couch beside Axion, she turned to look at him, flashing him a toothy grin. Axion noticed her beside him and he couldn’t deny his heart leaped. The urge to look at her came.

” No, Axion, don’t look at her ” He cautioned himself, keeping a straight face, his gaze focused on the television. Phoenix was sad he didn’t even spare her a glance.

” Won’t you even look at me, Axion? ” She muttered and Axion couldn’t hold back not looking at her anymore. He finally turned and Phoenix pouted sadly as their gaze locked. His heart skipped once again making him dart his eyes away.

” What are you doing here? ” He asked and Phoenix shifted closer to him.

” To watch a movie of course ” She shrugged.

” You think I’m those women who are scared of horror movies? ” Phoenix huffed and Axion raised a brow at her.

” I’m not scared of anything ” She bragged making him scoff. Phoenix’s inner self landed a slap across her cheeks.

” What are you doing? Are you out of your fucking mind?! ” It yelled at her but Phoenix ignored it. She has to watch it if she wants to get closer to Axion.

Focusing her gaze on the television, she gulped down hard.

” You can do this, Phoenix ” She gingered herself.

She wasn’t even up to a minute into the movie, when she started shivering in fear, sweats rolling down her face like water. She unknowingly fidgeted on her finger, cutting them loudly with her teeth.

” Can you keep it down? ” Axion snapped angrily.

” Sorry ” She apologized, chuckling nervously.

The picture of a guy whose eyes had been plugged out popped up on the screen immediately making her let out a scream. She instantly clasped tight to Axion, burying her face in his chest.

Once again Axion’s heart skipped and started beating widely. To make matters worse, Phoenix tightened her grip on his chest, pulling him closer to herself, her whole body trembling and that alone made his body twitch.

Axion hated the fact that her being this close to him was creating so much havoc inside him. His heart was beating so fast that one would think it will burst out of his chest soon.

” Phoenix ” He groaned in frustration. Phoenix slowly peeked at him and their eyes locked. Glimpsing the faint tears in her eyes, Axion’s face softened.

” Is she this scared? ”

Sighing deeply, he grabbed the remote and switch the channel.

” Is this better? ” He asked Phoenix who took a peek at the television and her racing heart relaxed immediately. She turned back to Axion and nodded, pouting cutely.

” Damn it! ” Axion bit on his lower lip as his eyes landed on her pouted cute lips. He was starting to get aroused and if he doesn’t look away, he might end up not being able to control himself.

” Get off me ” He snapped and Phoenix shifted a bit from him.

AT NIGHT

Axion was about to go to sleep when he noticed Phoenix’s body trembling. She was sweating profusely with her eyes closed and her body squirmed. Her hands which were hugging her legs were clenched in a fist and on her face was a deep frown. She was having a nightmare, it was obvious.

Turning to face her, Axion let out a sad sigh. He reached out and wrapped his hands around her waist, tugging her closer to himself, and placing a kiss on her forehead.

” Such, don’t be scared. I’m here ” He whispered to her. Phoenix’s face and stiffened body loosened up as her head landed on his firm chest. She let out a breath of relief, relaxing fully.

Looking down and staring at her peaceful face, Axion didn’t realize when a small crept up his lips. She’s so innocent and cute. Why didn’t he realize it until now?

” When you knew you couldn’t stand anything scary, why did you try watching a horror movie? ” A chuckle left his lips. He doesn’t know why for these past two days he has been avoiding her, he secretly finds everything little thing she does cute and funny. And he just couldn’t stop thinking about her every time.

” Why are you always on my mind? ”

THE NEXT DAY

Phoenix woke up first and headed to bath since Axion was still sleeping. She forgot to take her clothes along like she does normally.

Realizing that after taking her bath,

” Oh come on! ” She groaned. Having no other option, she tied a towel around her chest. She decided to go change in the room since Axion was still asleep.

Opening the bathroom door, she took a peep and was surprised not to see Axion on the bed. She stepped out and headed straight to the closet to get her lotion.

She stood before the mirror and started applying the lotion to her body. Just then, a hand tenderly wrapped around her stomach and pulled her back a bit. She jolted as she felt her back pressed against a hard body.

She felt a hot and rasped breath hit her neck as a hand ran up her arm making her quiver. The lotion in her hand fell off and she closed her eyes.

” Why are you doing this to me? ” A husky, deep voice came, sending shivers down her spine. It was the voice of one person, the only person who can make her vibrate with only his touch. The one person whose voice can make her weak to the knee at an instant.

Axion!

He placed a deep kiss on her neck, sucking on it thereby creating a hickey on her neck.

” Axion ” Phoenix moaned out his name.

” Shit! ” Axion groaned and pressed her body even closer to his. Phoenix’s eyes widened a bit when she felt his hardness pressed against her ass.

” Are you trying to seduce me, Phoenix? ” Axion’s hoarse voice came once again and he turned her to face him. He held her by the waist, drawing her closer, so close that his hardness was pressed below her stomach. Phoenix felt a sweet twitching down her V making her bit her lips to prevent a moan from escaping. She was getting wet.

Axion took her hand, kissing it before placing it on his face. He tilted her head up, his eyes peering into hers with lust and desire, the desire to have her. He claimed her lips in a deep passionate kiss before trailing it to her ear.
