Chapter 88 Go Take Care Of Her (Part One)
Chapter 88 Go Take Care Of Her (Part One)
Charles was about to leave the ward when something occurred to him. He turned back to Celine with a
vicious smile on his face. "I just have one more thing to say."
When she heard the sound of his voice, she instantly turned her gaze to him and frowned. "What is it?"
"Maybe others didn't see what actually happened at the airport, but I saw it clearly with my own eyes,"
he said, raising his eyebrows. His confident tone made her feel like he was trying to intimidate her. His
smirk grew wider as he continued, "I know it was Fiona who really rushed to save Spencer. You just
wanted to get in her way, but you got shot and became the heroine instead. It's good that you had luck
on your side."
All the blood drained from her face. "You're just talking nonsense!" she snapped, pretending to be
indignant.
"Nonsense, eh?" Charles sniggered. "Well, sure, if you say so. Anyway, you'd better hook up with
Spencer soon. Otherwise, I have ways to tell him the truth."
"Why do you care about my relationship with Spencer? How will it benefit you, exactly? What's in it for
you?" she asked in a faint voice.
"That's none of your business," he said, walking to the door with a dangerous gleam in his eyes.
"Is it because of Fiona?" She couldn't control her tongue and spilled what was on her mind.
Holding the doorknob, he looked back and smiled at her. "You're thinking too much."
Then,
he walked out and slammed the door shut behind him. He could barely stay calm. Fiona's name kept
echoing in his mind, making his heart pound against his chest. He wasn't ready to admit that his
feelings for her had grown considerably.
Inside the ward, Celine gasped as she felt a sharp pain in her chest. She reached out and pressed the
emergency button on the bedside table with trembling fingers.
Soon after, a doctor and several nurses rushed to her bed. They were taken aback to see the state that
she was in. For some reason, her wound had opened up. Blood was oozing through the bandage,
staining her hospital gown red.
"Hurry! We need to treat the wound immediately." The doctor waved his hand, and the nurses
immediately helped Celine lie down and began gathering medical equipment to restore her stitches.
Great waves of pain swept through Celine as they buzzed around to treat her, but her mind was
elsewhere and her eyes went blank.
Recalling Charles' words and the way he couldn't wait to push her to another man, she couldn't help
but feel upset. Of course she liked Spencer, but she had a soft spot for Charles too. But even though
Charles hadn't answered her question, it was presumable that he had developed feelings for Fiona,
which just wasn't fair! Celine had tried her best to achieve everything she wanted, but Fiona kept
getting everything without lifting so much as a finger.
In her years of being in a relationship with Charles, Celine had exhausted all her strength and effort in
order to reach a point where even if there were a hundred girls around him, no one would be able to
replace her. However, the longer she had been with Charles, the more she had realized that he didn't
value women at all. It was astonishing that a man like him would go so far as to fall in love with Fiona.
Celine had naturally expressed her interest in marrying him, more than once, in fact. After all, she was
in the prime of her youth and wished to start a family in a good home. But every time she had brought it
up, Charles had brushed her off coldly. It was at that time that she had heard that Spencer was getting
married, upsetting her even more.
She had been forced to let go of Spencer, but she was quite willing to start a life with Charles. Anyway,
Spencer was a busy military officer. If she had married him, she'd have felt lonely all the time. She had
a better chance at a happy life with Charles.
But now, it seemed that she would have to rethink her estimation of the two men. On one side, there
was Charles, who wasn't willing to be tied to her, and on the other side, there was Spencer, who had
been forced to separate from her. Naturally, she couldn't help but lean toward Spencer.
After all, Charles was also in favor of her marrying Spencer. 'Fiona, you took everything I wanted. Why
should I let you have what you want?' she thought maliciously.
"Miss Cheng, the wound has been stitched up," the doctor said. Upon hearing these words, Celine
finally came back to reality and nodded. "Okay."
"The wound hasn't fully healed yet. Please take extra care not to let it open again," the doctor warned
her.
"Okay. You can all head out now. I'm really tired," she said faintly.
"Okay, Miss Cheng. Take care of yourself and get some sleep. The nurses will come to check on you
later."
With that, the doctor and nurses walked out quietly.
Celine closed her eyes and tried to relax in the empty ward.
The next day, Fiona packed her things and left for school. As the term was coming to an end, she had
a lot to do to prepare for the final exams.
No matter how good or bad her relationship with Spencer was, her education was her first priority.
When she entered the university campus, there were very few students strolling around outdoors.
Since it was freezing outside, it was common for students to stay in the library or in their dorms.
Fiona rushed to the dormitory, panting. Just as she had expected, Sophia and Ella were both lounging
in their beds, wrapped up in their quilts.
"Aren't we supposed to take our exams? Why are you two still in bed?" Fiona asked with a smile as she
walked in.
"Fiona, you're back!" Sophia turned around as soon as she heard Fiona's voice.
Fiona nodded with a smile. "I'm going to the library to prepare for the final exams. Do you guys want to
come with me?"
"No, thanks. Now that you're back, we can ace our exams by simply copying your answers," Ella said
lazily.
Fiona smiled awkwardly. "Have you guys had breakfast yet? I brought you some food." Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
"Now that you've come back, we don't have to worry about our breakfast or the final exams. You're so
nice, Fiona!" Sophia said cheerfully.
Still lying in the bed, Ella laughed. "Ah, it smells so good! Sophia, pass me the food. I'm not getting up."
"Stop being so lazy!" Sophia took a bite of the boiled egg in the container Fiona handed her. "Get it
yourself!" she said with her mouth full.
"Oh, if you're so hardworking, why don't you apply that to your studies? You can't even draw a design
as fast as me," Ella retorted.
Feeling a little envious of the two girls, Fiona walked over and gave some of the food to Ella. "Here you
are."
"Thank you, Fiona! Love you!" Ella picked up the container and wolfed down the food.
"By the way, Fiona, have you eaten yet?" Sophia asked casually while eating.
"Yes, I have." Fiona nodded and walked over to the desk to start packing. "Take your time. I'm going to
the library now."
