Take Me Away

Chapter 104 Don't Like Carrots

Chapter 104 Don't Like Carrots

Terence owned Le Bar. He loved and valued the bar more than his company. At first, Spencer thought

Terence just liked bars, but later, he had found out that it had a hidden purpose.

The bar was patronized by all kinds of people. Hence, it was the best place to gather information.

Terence was able to collect all kinds of information, including the events that took place in the city, by

just having a drink at the bar.

There was, however, one unspoken rule in the bar. You could buy a drink there without any money but

you couldn't enter without a fresh piece of information to trade. One could not only get drinks but also

make money by trading such secret information and facts. The details of the bar had spread to people

in M City by word of mouth. Some people went there to trade news while some went to buy information

on others, and others just went there to prevent people from trading information about them. Soon,

Terence had a steady flowing stream of information in the bar. He could know about anything he was

interested in. He could even find out how many times you used the bathroom during the day if he

wanted to. It was as easy as pie for him.

So, the information he gave Spencer about members of X meeting at the bar must be authentic.

"When are they meeting? What are their plans?" Spencer had a serious look on his face.

"I don't know about that." Terence shook his head.

"Then how do you know they are coming?" Spencer frowned.

"It was an accident. I didn't ask for the information. There is a man called Mr. Long who's here on some

business. I heard that he is going to meet a customer from T Country. He is in charge of the ore

business in the west area of M City. I asked him where the customer of T Country came from, and he

told me that it was from some forest."

Spencer nodded and listened attentively.

"Something didn't seem right to me. I asked him if he had more information on the matter. He thought

for a long time. He said that the customer once hit him. He dropped to his knees, terrified, and that was

when he noticed a bright red 'X' embroidered on his attacker's shirt sleeve."

Spencer slapped his thigh angrily. "I just came across some information about people who crossed

borders and arrived in M Country smuggling a large load of ores. Looks like those people are from X."

Terence nodded. "It has to be them. What do we do now?"

Spencer sighed heavily. "I need to meet them. These people are getting more and more problematic. I

had planned to go to P City to deal with this issue later, but it seems I'll have to go there sooner."

"Terence, Spencer, what are you two talking about?" Fiona came from the kitchen.

"Dinner is almost ready. I'm going to ask Grandpa to have dinner." When they heard Fiona, Spencer

and Terence immediately stopped discussing about the problem. Spencer walked over to her and

frowned. "You called him first, and then me? Do you think he's more important than me?" he asked.

She frowned at Spencer. "Don't make trouble out of nothing."

"What?"

Before Spencer could retort, Fiona immediately sprinted upstairs. "Grandpa! Dinner is ready! Come

down to eat!"

Spencer wanted to be angry with her but he couldn't.

"Ha-ha..." Terence laughed as he walked up to Spencer and patted him on the back. "You have done

well!"

"What have I done well?" Spencer shrugged and shook off Terence's hand.

"Don't you notice the change in Fiona? Look how cheerful she is now. She looks as happy as a child.

You've seriously changed her. Hence, you've done well! She's changed for the better. Looks like you

two..."

Spencer looked at Terence and smiled shyly. "Well, you gave me the right advice." He looked up and

saw Fiona walk away.

If only he could keep Fiona happy all the time. He would do anything to change their past into

something beautiful.

"Come! Everyone, Let's eat."

When the table was set, Ethan came and sat next to Wayne. "Terence, it's so nice to have you over for

dinner. It's been a long time since you ate with us. You used to have meals with us quite often when

you were a child."

Terence smiled. "I'm a grown man now. How can I always scrounge

free meals off you?"

"It doesn't matter. You can come play chess with me, and have dinner with us," Wayne replied.

"Thank you." Terence gave him a warm smile.

"Why is there shredded carrots in the pork with fish sauce?" Spencer uttered with a disgusted look. He

liked pork with fish sauce but not the shredded carrots. The Cheng family usually made it according to

his taste, and everyone else was okay with it.

"Well..."

Anna opened her mouth to speak when Fiona interrupted. She looked at Spencer and spoke firmly. "I

made the dish."

As Spencer realized what had happened, he bit his chopsticks and mumbled, "I hate carrots."

"They are good for you. Carrots are a rich source of vitamins and nutrients. You shouldn't be so picky.

Anyway, I completely forgot that you don't like carrots. I won't cook them again."

"No, I want you to make carrots." Spencer quietly picked up some carrots and placed them into his

bowl. "They are so delicious. Why would you not make them? You're right, I shouldn't be a fussy eater."

Then, he took a bite of the carrots and chewed them. "Yummy! I have never tried carrots cooked this

deliciously before."

Fiona looked at him, surprised. "If you don't like them, you don't have to eat them."

"Let him eat. He has never eaten carrots since he was a boy, but the carrots you cooked made him ask

for more.

You really are something, Fiona," Ethan said in awe. "I have even forced him to eat them before but

nothing worked. But when you cook them, he can't say no."

Wayne nodded. He was glad that both of them were getting along well. "Spencer, your life isn't too

busy right now, yes? When can I have a grandchild?"

"Ahem..." Fiona couldn't help but cough.

Spencer was astonished, and he couldn't tell if he felt awkward or guilty. It was a good thing he'd

hidden the abortion from Wayne. He patted Fiona's back. "Why don't you have some water?"

"I'm fine." Fiona pushed his hand away. She felt embarrassed when he touched her in front of the

elders.

"Are you okay?" Wayne felt a little guilty. "I shouldn't be pushing you to have a baby."

"Grandpa, I'm okay!" Fiona assured him.

"But you can't be talking about this every day. Grandpa, look what you've done to her. We're not

thinking of children at the moment," Spencer said.

Fiona blushed with embarrassment. "Spencer! Just stop it."

Wayne nodded with an amused smile. "Ha-ha! Okay, everyone. Let's eat!"

Spencer fawned over Fiona with a smile. "Come here, I'll feed you some chicken."

"Thank you," Fiona whispered. She hesitated and put a few pieces of pork into his bowl. "You should

eat more too."

Spencer was overjoyed as he picked up his bowl and started chomping.

Everyone laughed.

After finishing dinner, Spencer wanted to go to the bar with Terence to meet the people from X

discreetly.

As Fiona sat in the bedroom preparing for her exams, Spencer walked in. "You're going to be the top

ranker of your school this semester."

"Thank you." She turned and looked at Spencer. "Has Terence left?"

"No, he's waiting for me downstairs. We're going to the bar." Spencer walked closer to her.

"You're going out?" Fiona was puzzled. "It's so late. Why are you going out now?"

"Are you worried about me?" He stroked her hair gently. "I'm working on a mission. I'll be back soon. I

have to try and complete the task given to me by Grandpa!"

"What?" Fiona soon understood what he meant and her cheeks turned red.

"What are you thinking? Don't be coy with me. I can see you blushing." He held her face and gently

squeezed it. "Wait for me to come back."

He turned to head out. But when he was just about to leave, Fiona grabbed his arm and looked into his C0pyright © 2024 Nôv)(elDrama.Org.

eyes. He locked eyes with her. "What's wrong? Is there something you want to say?"

Fiona shook her head. "Be safe and come back soon."

Spencer froze, and his heart almost pounded out of his chest.

It was the first time she'd ever said something so affectionate. She cared about him. Did it mean that

she was growing to love him? He felt euphoric, as if he was in heaven and he'd seen paradise!

"Fiona..." Spencer called out after a while. "I don't really want to go."

"Really?" Before she could finish speaking, Spencer held her face and his lips took charge of hers as

he pulled her into a deep passionate kiss.

They were engrossed in their deep sensual kiss when they heard a honking sound.

Terence was getting impatient, and although he knew what they were up to, he couldn't help but

intervene.

Was it the power of love? Terence chuckled. His mind drifted away to the thought of him having such a

life.

After Spencer came downstairs, the two of them headed to the bar together. There were all kinds of

luxury cars lined up outside the bar. It looked as though they had entered a car show.

Spencer had always been meticulous about separating his personal life from his profession. As he got

out of the car, he prepared his mind for work since his thoughts were immersed with Fiona.

As soon as they walked into the bar, a waiter came up to Terence. He bowed to him and greeted him.

"Mr. He, you're here!"

"Yes." Terence nodded curtly.

"Are you going to your room? Should I prepare it?"

"No." Terence waved to him. "You carry on with your work. It's rush hour now. We have some work."

"Understood." The waiter nodded immediately. "Mr. He, ring for me if you need anything."

"Of course I will." Terence turned to Spencer. "Why are you so quiet?"

Spencer was looking at the dance floor as he frowned. "Celine is here."

Terence turned and saw her dancing with joy in a skin-fitting dress.
