Chapter 436
Chapter 436
Andre gently held his wife’s chin, directing her chewing mouth towards his face. NôvelDrama.Org content rights.
Mia was merrily munching on a piece of steak. Her cheeks were puffing out as she chewed. Her
husband’s large hand was holding her face, so her mouth was forced into a pout.
Andre said, “Once you swallow that steak, you won’t be allowed to eat anymore. Overeating isn’t good
for you, honey.”
Frowning slightly, Mia was indignant. How could he control her eating! She stared longingly at the two
remaining ribs in her bowl. They were juicy and tasty, but she was not allowed to eat them.
Madison, too, thought Mia had eaten her fill and immediately had the maids clear the remnants from
the table.
In the evening, Andre took Mia for a walk on the lawn. Once both had cooled down and made amends,
they finally discussed their recent disagreement.
Andre admitted, “Making you stand as punishment the other day, that was a bit hasty of me.” He could
have chosen other ways to punish Mia, but he had chosen to make her stand.
Mia, too, acknowledged her fault, “I was wrong, too. I shouldn’t have taken risks while pregnant.”
As Mia spoke, she moved towards the bench between two trees, hoping to sit down. But Andre quickly
pulled her back into his arms. Mia, who had been hoping to sit down and relax, couldn’t help but pout.
Andre asked, “Why didn’t you come home that day? Why did you run back to your mom?”
The pregnant Mia, with her eyes fixed longingly on the bench, replied while her waist was encircled by
her husband’s arms, “I was scared after seeing you so angry. I didn’t dare to go home with you. I
wouldn’t be able to sleep, sharing a bed with you.”
Andre looked at his fearless wife. Hearing the word “scared” from her was a rarity. “Why didn’t you go
back by yourself yesterday?” Andre asked again.
Mia, ever honest, voiced her fear, “I was scared that you would still be angry with me. You didn’t even
call, so I assumed you were still mad. I couldn’t appear in front of you. Also, I felt a bit hurt. If I just go
back to my husband’s house by myself, that would be too embarrassed for me.”
Andre couldn’t help but chuckle. This little wife of his, she didn’t hide anything from him. She had just
blurted out her thoughts.
“So, hubby, you love me so much and even had people protect me. Why didn’t you come to find me
yesterday? You didn’t even call.” Mia asked.
Andre was taken aback. “Who told you I had people protecting you?” He had never mentioned it to
anyone. Each time he thought he had a secret, his little wife would casually mention it.
Mia smiled. “Hubby, I do have some fame in The Silent Ring. I can tell the difference between being
followed and being protected. The only people who would care for my safety so much are you, Dad,
and Naomi. Naomi doesn’t deal with these matters, and Dad came to see me yesterday afternoon, so it
couldn’t be him. It must be you. You must have heard that Tom escaped and fear for my safety, so you
had someone to protect me.”
Andre had thought he had arranged everything perfectly, but he hadn’t expected her to figure it out so
quickly.
“You care so much, but still wanted to see me cry.” Mia complained softly.
Andre replied, “I came to see you yesterday.”
Mia was shocked. She looked at her husband, who was holding her. She said with a soft voice filled
with surprise and gratitude, “Why didn’t you show yourself then?”
Andre explained, “If I showed up too early, you wouldn’t learn your lesson. You would still make the
same mistakes when you encounter similar situations. I used to indulge you and was happy to clean up
after you, listen to your coquettish complains, and spoil you.”
“But this time, Tom is not easy to deal with, and you are not as nimble as you used to be. This
punishment is to remind you of this punishment when you encounter similar situations in the future, to
warn you not to make the same mistakes again. You helped us this time, but your safety is more
important than anything else.”
Mia understood her husband’s intentions. She willingly changed her direction and intertwined her
fingers with Andre’s. “I understand, hubby.”
Andre added later, “There’s no right side in this matter. Both of us made mistakes. Let’s put it behind
us.”
Mia nodded. She didn’t dwell on this issue. “Hubby, we’ve been walking for ten minutes, right? Can I sit
down now?”
“No, it’s only been eight minutes. Let’s walk a little more.”
Mia looked at the comfortable bench, feeling like she was walking circles around it.
“In front of a starving woman is a huge piece of meat, but the starving woman’s husband tells her she
can’t eat it. What do you think the starving woman would do?” Mia complained indirectly about her
husband.
Andre replied, “The starving woman would be obedient, waiting until she could eat again. After all, her
husband is only looking out for her well-being.”
Mia bit her lip, “Has it been 10 minutes yet?”
“Just one more minute.”

That night, the couple stayed at the Irvin family’s residence. Early the next morning, Andre received a
call from his father scolding him for losing his wife again. “You think a man’s dignity is that important?
Mia...”
“Dad, it’s me, Mia.”
With Mia’s single sentence, Andre instantly turned into Hansen’s good son again.
Mia felt like she hadn’t seen Molly in a long time. After making up with her husband, she decided to visit
the hospital.
Molly was having an infusion when the couple arrived. Seeing them, she sat up immediately.
“Everything is fine now?”
Mia nodded, sitting at her friend’s bedside. She looked at Molly’s hand that was having the infusion and
asked about her recent condition.
Andre walked over, picked up Molly’s medical report from the table, and went outside.
“What is Andre doing?” Molly asked.
“He’s probably paying your hospital bill.” Mia guessed.
With just the two of them in the ward, Molly asked directly, “Mia, how did you and Andre make up?”
Mia briefly recounted the events of the previous day to her friend. Molly said, “I thought you would give
Andre the cold shoulder for a while, especially since your lower limbs were swollen from standing.”

A wistful smile played on Mia’s lips as she thought about the missed connection with her husband that
evening.
“Men are so strange.” They fuss and worry, but never utter the word ‘love’. If she didn’t find out
accidentally, she would probably still be in the dark.
“Andre never takes any credit in front of me,” Mia added.
