Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 414

Chapter 414

Mia was ensconced at home, carefully nurturing her growing baby bump when her husband, Andre,

burst in. He immediately dragged her into the study for a stern lecture.

Innocently confused, she blinked up at him. “Honey, why don’t you calm down before I upset you even

more?”

Andre simply sighed.

Later, Mia discovered she’d been used as a scapegoat by her friends. Indignant, she defended herself,

“Sweetheart, I was just along for the ride. The real mastermind behind everything is your sister. I simply

added my two cents.”

For a while, Andre and Chad were on high alert, guarding against their mischievous trio at home. Extra

guards were even posted outside Rodrigo’s hospital room.

Leo was also banned from visiting the patient.

Upon returning home, Leo complained, “Why me? You two are the ones who wanted to remove his

oxygen mask, and I have nothing to do with it.”

Mia, enjoying a fruit salad, smirked. “If Molly and I can’t escape punishment, neither can you.”

Molly returned home. “Chad is just afraid I won’t be able to do it, so he’ll ask you to do it for me.”

After all, Leo was the one who most wanted to get rid of the two. And he was the lowest-ranking among

the three.

After Kyle woke up from his last episode, Chad did interrogate him. What he learned was that Kyle was

oblivious about the kidnapping case that took place sixteen years ago.

Andre wasted no more time on Ellory and Kyle. If he had been Finley, he wouldn’t have entrusted such

important matters to these two incompetents.

Brian, on the other hand, was a potential lead.

Chad made another secret visit to the café and met with Andre.

Andre handed him a file. “Chad, have you considered what you’ll have to face if you want to bring him

down?”

Chad skimmed through the evidence, which was exactly what he needed. “Reputation doesn’t matter to

me. All I care about is whether I can take Molly on a road trip this summer.”

He then turned the question on Andre. “What about you? Why are you in such a hurry?”

Pouring coffee into a cup, Andre replied, “Mia is about to give birth.”

Chad didn’t quite understand Andre’s response. Was he worried that Mia might be in danger before she

gave birth, or was he concerned that he wouldn’t be able to look after his family once the baby arrived?

As for the incident from years ago, Chad offered, “It would be great if Molly could remember anything

about it.”

Andre stared out into the courtyard. “It might be better if she doesn’t.”

If it was about pleasant memories, she should remember. But if they were painful, Andre would rather

his sister not recall them. Her mind should only be filled with beauty.

Molly had been working as an intern for a month now, so she was getting the hang of it.

Her mother Coleen often invited her for lunch at her office, where they would chat about family matters

and discuss company management.

She knew that her daughter was tired. Her in-laws at home were growing bored of the park. Therefore,

Coleen decided to take them on a weekend drive to the countryside for some fresh air and fun.

Seeing the beautiful landscapes, Molly thought of bringing Mia and her baby here for some outdoor fun

in the future.

Coleen warned, “Taking care of kids is no easy task. They require constant attention. Mia would be

exhausted after such a trip.”

Molly said, “Mia has her husband to help.”

Coleen smiled. “Even men can get tired of carrying kids. And when kids cry, they always want their

mom.”

Molly retorted, “We are a group of adults. Surely we can handle one kid?”

Time proved otherwise. In the future, a group of adults would be helpless against a certain little tyrant

from the Cedillo family…

Molly received her first paycheck, but it was gone within two hours. Standing in the mall, she hadn’t

even started shopping when her card balance dropped to double digits. She was in shock. All her hard

work for a month and her money was already gone.

Chad, who had managed to steal some time away to join her, asked with a smile, “Out of money?”

Molly sighed. “I haven’t even started supporting you, and I’m broke.”

Chad laughed. “Don’t worry. I got a raise. Use my money.”

“But I promised to take care of you, but I can’t even take care of myself.”

Chad took her hand. “It’s okay. I can take care of you.”

She had bought gifts for Hansen, her father, her grandmother, Mia, and her unborn nephew. But when

it came to Chad, she had only a hundred dollars left.

Chad could see her disappointment. “Is there enough for a movie?” Chad asked.

Molly nodded. “Yes.”

Chad took her to the top floor theater to buy tickets.

...

Later, Molly vented to her friends. “Money is hard to earn. You have to bend your knee to ask for

someone’s help. I now understand why my parents chose their careers and why my father wanted

Bruce to enter politics and Andre to go into business.”

Mia asked, “What happened?”

“Luckily I have my mother. I can own her company in the future. If I am just an ordinary worker, I’m

practically starving myself to death.”

Mia, lounging in a chair, replied, “There are different ways to live, whether you’re rich or poor. You can’t

starve yourself just because you’re broke. Happiness and health are important.” Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

Molly asked, “Mia, would you still be with Andre if he were broke?”

Mia thought for a moment. “If it was early in our marriage when we didn’t have a strong emotional

foundation, I wouldn’t give him any attention. But now, even if he is drowning in debt, I’ll still stand by

him.”

Molly said, “I wish I could tell Andre this.”

“I’m sure he believes me,” Mia confidently said.

As an experienced married woman, Mia loved sharing her wisdom about marriage with her two

unmarried friends.

Naomi overheard a conversation and later shared it with Hansen. There was a twinkle in her eyes.

“Kids these days are so precocious.” She chuckled. “I was listening to Mia talk earlier. At first, I wasn’t

quite sure what to make of it. But then I thought about it, and it kind of made sense.”

Hansen’s curiosity was aroused. “What did Mia say this time?”

Naomi responded, “You know how our generation has a saying that it’s better to be with someone who

loves you than someone you chase after? Well, Mia’s more direct. She said that she’d either not get

married at all, or she’d marry someone she is genuinely in love with. If she couldn’t find that person,

she’d settle for someone she deems suitable. I’ve been mulling it over, wondering if that stance isn’t a

bit too stubborn.”
