Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 401

Chapter 401

Chad replied, “I stand with the people, unless...” He chuckled. “Unless Mr. Marlow decides to stand

against people.”

Mr. Marlow had not anticipated this level of defiance from Chad, who was in the newest promotion. He

followed protocol and took Tom into custody.

As Tom was taken away, his eyes burned with anger towards Chad. Chad met his gaze unafraid.

At noon, Jack’s lawyer arrived. Following procedure, he took Jack away.

After his departure, Finley made a direct call to him.

Aiden stood by his son’s side. He hung up the phone. “Jack, one must know their limitations. Ashford

Inc has always been clean. If it becomes tainted under your control, I’ll revoke your inheritance.”

He continued, “Your arrest today is Chad’s warning to you.”

“Warning?” Jack seemed puzzled. His understanding was superficial, unlike Chad’s deeper

comprehension.

Aiden told his son, “You only met that man once, but he has arrested you. If you agreed to work with

him, you wouldn’t be getting out today.”

“You’re lost in the praise from your mother. She’s shallow-minded. Your academic achievements, which

you’re so proud of, are nothing to Chad. Has he ever mentioned it to you?”

“Jack, don’t be so arrogant. Don’t try to make an enemy out of the Byrne family. And don’t provoke

Chad. He wouldn’t be Havenbrook’s youngest precinct captain without being wise.”

Jack was astonished. No wonder Molly had always been so aloof to him. Her brother was far superior.

“Go back to earning clean money. Even if it’s hard, at least you’ll have peace of mind.”

Fortunately, Jack heeded his father’s advice and changed his mind.

Cecilia caused another scene. Aiden went straight to file for divorce. He’d rather leave the marriage

penniless than stay with a foolish woman.

Leo had disappeared for some time. When he reappeared, he was at a hospital in West Meadows. He

moved to the window to contact Andre, “Uncle, I’ve found them.”

Andre asked, “Where did you find them?” All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

“In a mental hospital.” Leo gazed into the room at the two men among the patients. Their saliva stained

their clothes. They were laughing like fools. No, wait, they were really fools now.

“How did you find them there?”

Leo replied, “It’s a long story. Uncle, I’ve decided to bring them home. We’ll have them checked at our

local hospital to see if they’re really mad or just faking it.”

“Alright, be careful.”

Jack had planned to collaborate with them, but his phone call was abruptly ended. This explained

everything. Chad had ruined his plans again!

Finley didn’t know that Andre had been feeding Chad information all along, so he blamed everything on

Chad.

Just then, Tom returned. For safety, Finley immediately sent Tom to West Meadows. “Stay low for a

while. Chad won’t rest until he’s chewed you up and spat you out. Also, keep an eye on Ellory and

Kyle. Even if they’re really mad, we can’t let them fall into Leo’s hands.”

Tom nodded. “Yes, boss. I won’t let you down this time.”

But the next moment, disappointment struck. Before Tom could set off, he received a call from

someone in West Meadows.

“What?” Leo had found the two men and taken them away! How did Leo find them in a hospital?

Tom nervously informed Finley about Leo’s discovery.

Upon hearing the news, Finley slammed his fist on the table, causing the lid of the cup to tremble. His

face turned ashen with anger. He felt as though he was playing a losing game of chess. Every move he

made seemed to lead to a dead end.

Nothing was on his side.

Leo returned to Havenbrook in the evening and immediately went to see his mother.

Naomi, missing her son, ran to embrace him. “Leo, where have you been? Why didn’t you answer my

calls?”

“I’m here now. Don’t worry,” he comforted his mother while asking, “Where’s Grandpa and Mia?”

Hansen, aware of what his grandson had been doing, appeared and pointed at Leo. “Good boy, you’re

truly my grandson.”

Leo, noticing his grandfather looked well, asked, “Where’s our big round ball?”

Out of nowhere, Mia had gained a new nickname—Big Round Ball.

“Leo, can’t you talk like a normal person?” A confused Mia appeared.

Hansen looked at his daughter-in-law. “Haha, I didn’t notice until Leo mentioned it. Look, Mia really

does resemble a big round ball.”

Leo circled Mia. “Aren’t you due for another prenatal checkup?”

“Huh, you remember the dates?”

Leo exaggerated, “If I didn’t know you are only 24 weeks pregnant, I’d think you are about to give birth.”

Molly saw in the family group chat that Leo had returned home. She rushed back from work and

immediately ran to Leo. “Leo, if you didn’t return soon, I would go to report you as a missing person.”

Leo hadn’t realized how much his family loved him. Before, he’d felt like an errand boy at home, barely

noticeable. Could it be that his absence made them realize how important he was?

“Did you miss me while I was gone?”

Molly nodded. “Without you at home, Mia and I had no fun at all.”

“Because without me, there’s no soul?”

Mia replied, “Not really. Without you, we didn’t have a driver.”

Naomi laughed. “When you’re not home, we lack a punching bag.”

While the family joked about Leo’s lack of presence, their joy at his return was undeniable.

Leo said, “I don’t know why I missed you heartless people when I was away. I even made sure to come

home first to see you all when I returned.”

In the living room, Naomi made sure her son was okay before excusing herself to attend to some

chores, leaving her son in the care of his two aunts.

Leo was then whisked away to the backyard by Mia and Molly. The trio huddled together, chattering

away about everything under the sun.

“You only have one set of clothes in your car? Did you buy the rest yourself?”

“Where do you stay when you’re outside?”

“Do you drive every day?”

“Did you encounter any danger?”

“Did anyone bully you when you were out there?”

...

The two girls first inquired about their nephew’s physical and mental health, and then they had the

mood to ask about the progress of his journey.

For their concern, Leo patiently answered each question.

“Why did you stay out for so long just to look for someone?” Mia asked.

It wasn’t just Naomi who was worried. Even Mia felt a pang of concern whenever she thought of Leo.

At the mention of this, Leo was about to explode. “You have no idea how sneaky this guy is.”

His aunts looked at him curiously, waiting for him to continue. “What happened?”

Leo had a belly full of words to say, but he decided to phrase it differently. “Come on. Let’s test your

detective skills.”

Mia and Molly immediately straightened up, ready for the challenge.

Leo asked, “What are Kyle’s three main vices?”

Mia answered, “Gambling, womanizing, feigning illness.”

Leo then asked, “So where should we look for him given these three vices?”

Molly replied, “A casino, a club, a hospital.”
