Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 385

Chapter 385

Andre turned around. He put his arm around his wife’s shoulder. After ending a call with his father, he

led Mia to a nearby seat, leaning in to whisper in her ear, “Just pretend we didn’t see them.”

Mia opened her mouth to utter a surprised “Oh,” not quite understanding why. But if her husband asked

her to do so, she would ignore them without question.

Later, it was Tom who, while strolling around, suddenly found himself crossing paths with Mia again.

Quickly, he led the girl in a different direction, away from Mia. The girl was clueless about what was

happening. She was feeling a bit under the weather and came to the hospital for a check-up. She

couldn’t understand why Tom was leading her in a roundabout way, when the doctor’s office was

straight ahead.

Meanwhile, Mia was whispering to her husband, “Honey, who do you think that girl is carrying? Whose

baby could it be?”

Andre took a deep look into Mia’s gleaming eyes, which were filled with curiosity. Her eyes were

blinking as she pondered the mystery.

Andre replied, “It’s none of our business, so let’s not dig into it.”

Mia pouted, “I’m just curious. Do you think she’s carrying... No, that couldn’t be. I mean, she’s not blind.

Why would she be with an old man who could be her grandfather? Maybe it’s the chauffeur’s baby, but

it doesn’t look like it. They seem so distant. But she couldn’t be Finley’s daughter-in-law.”

Lost in her thoughts and unable to figure it out, Mia was on the verge of pulling her hair out in

frustration. Andre pulled her into his arms, resting her head on his shoulder, and chuckled, “Thinking

too much can lead to hair loss.”

Mia teased, “Are you saying dad thinks too much?”

Speak of the devil, and he shall appear. Hansen took another elevator and arrived a little later. Upon

his arrival, he heard his daughter-in-law asking if he was overthinking things.

“Mia, how am I overthinking things?” he asked.

Mia couldn’t tell him the truth.

“I was just praising you to my husband for being clever and wise, maybe a little too wise,” she said.

Hansen nodded, “Well, that’s a compliment I can accept.”

Hansen sat next to Mia and looked at her, “You saw Tom earlier, didn’t you? Why didn’t you say hello?”

Mia replied, “Oh, so his name is Tom. Well, I’m pregnant, and I’m not sure I could take him in a fight, so

I didn’t dare to approach him.”

Hansen looked at his daughter-in-law and smirked, “You make it sound like you could take him on if

you weren’t pregnant.” All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

Mia retorted, “Well, who knows?”

Tom took the girl to the doctor’s office and hid around the corner, spying on the trio. He thought he had

gone unnoticed, and he was the one who had spotted them first. However, Mia quietly informed her

father and husband, “Tom is spying on us. Should I turn around and make eye contact with him, just to

scare him?”

Andre said, “Don’t cause any trouble.”

Mia playfully complained, “Honey, you’re such a killjoy.”

Mia continued, “If Leo and Molly were here, we would not only scare off the peeping Tom, but we would

also strike up a conversation with that girl. Since Tom mistakenly thinks we don’t know their secret, we

could deliberately talk to the girl and make Tom panic. Then we could let slip a few things to see her

relationship with the Walton family.”

“When I stay with you, you always sense the danger and stop me from doing what I want. You just want

me to be an obedient robot. I can assess the risks myself, but you just don’t trust me.”

Andre replied, “You scared me before.”

Hansen was seriously considering his daughter-in-law’s words. “I think Mia has a point.”

Both Andre and Mia turned their attention to Hansen.

“Since Andre and I are here to protect you, Mia, you can go ahead and have some fun. Tom knows

you’re pregnant, and we can’t hide it. Let’s just allow Mia to do a little scare tactic.”

With Hansen’s strong support, Mia didn’t care about her husband’s disapproving look. She stood up

and headed towards the doctor’s office where the girl was.

Tom thought the Cedillo family hadn’t noticed him. But when he saw Mia, he immediately hid further

away. Mia passed by the spot Tom was hiding, with a playful smile on her face.

Andre looked at his father. “Dad, Mia can’t be stopped once she starts.”

Hansen replied, “Let’s follow her, but not too far behind.”

Mia pushed open the door to the doctor’s office and noticed someone was with the doctor. She glanced

at the girl, who also noticed Mia. She suddenly remembered that during the last hospital quarrel, this

girl had stepped forward and directly knocked down that shrew.

“Is it you?” the girl asked.

Mia was taken aback. “Why does it sound like she knows me?”

She was wondering how to strike up a conversation when the girl started talking to her first.

The doctor finished checking the girl’s health. “Your symptoms are mild. No need for medication. Just

drink more water, eat light, have more fruits and ensure enough sleep.”

The girl stood up to thank the doctor. The doctor then turned to Mia, “Mrs. Cedillo, do you have any

questions?”

Mia replied, “Oh, I just remembered that my husband already asked what I am going to ask.”

She gave a sheepish grin as she walked out of the doctor’s office. She looked at the girl’s belly and

started a conversation, “Do you know me?”

The girl nodded and smiled. “I’ve seen you before. Last time at the hospital, you and your friends were

berating that old woman and man. I was in the crowd too. I admired you guys. I was also very angry

when I saw that.”

Mia thought in her mind, if she was there, then surely Finley or Tom must have been there too.

Tom, hiding in the corner, watched as Mia started conversing with the girl. He wanted to intervene but

couldn’t, as Mia had seen him. Besides, not too far from Mia were Hansen and Andre.

Growing anxious, he looked around for a way to interrupt their conversation. But because of Finley’s

old-fashioned belief that cell phones could emit harmful radiation to pregnant women, Holly didn’t carry

her cell phone with her. This left Tom with no way to convey a message to interrupt their conversation.

“My name is Holly,” the pregnant woman introduced herself.

Mia replied, “I’m Mia.”

She looked at Holly’s belly, “How far pregnant are you?”

Holly glanced down and smiled, “A little over six months. How about you?”

Mia replied, “I’m not quite six months yet. Holly, did you come for your check-up alone?”

Holly looked around, “No, someone came with me, but I can’t find him now.”

Mia also looked around, “Where is he?”

“Did your husband accompany you?”

Holly couldn’t see Mia was trying to beat around the bush, and she didn’t care much. After all, they

were practically strangers. Plus, Mia was the kind of girl Holly always wished she could be but couldn’t.

So, she didn’t mince her words, “No, he’s been tied up with work. His chauffeur has been keeping me

company.”

Mia’s eyes widened in surprise. She was so shocked she was lost for words. She blinked rapidly, and

then tried to sound as unruffled as possible, “Ah, I see. Your husband must be really hardworking. He is

working even on the weekends. But it’s sweet of him to have his chauffeur accompany you. He really

does care about you, doesn’t he?”
