Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Before Wayne turned one, Molly had already dragged him off to the photo studio for a whole album's worth of pictures. She even pulled a few strings at work, getting the company designers to recreate the same outfit Chad wore in his iconic childhood snapshot. So there they were-father and son-striking the same pose, in the same clothes, old and new photos lined up for a perfect then-and-now comparison.

She didn't stop at outfits, either. Back in the day, Chad had a little red dot painted on his forehead in those baby pictures, so of course, Wayne got one too.

Looking at the throwback-style photos, Naomi couldn't help but laugh. "Leo had these done too!"noveldrama

Anya wandered over, curious as ever. "Auntie, did Chad wear one of those forehead stickers as a kid too?"

Leo jumped in, indignant. “No, I didn't!"

Hansen grinned, "Sure you did! And so did your uncle."

Andre just threw up his hands in silent surrender.

Mia cocked her head, looking up at her dad. "So, Dad, where are the baby pictures of my husband?"

Hansen shot a look at his son. "All those embarrassing photos? He hid them himself."

Mia turned to Andre, eyes twinkling. "Babe~"

Andre avoided her gaze, thinking about those childhood photos that didn't match his current cool-guy vibe at all. "I tossed them."

Mia pouted. "Then I'll find whatever's left myself. Even if I have to piece together the shreds, I'll make it happen."

Wayne's first birthday bash was held at a hotel.

As the Byrne family's eldest great-grandson, and with the family's elders all present, the guest list was way too long for a house party. Even a big round table at a restaurant wouldn't cut it, so they went all out and booked a whole banquet hall, keeping it festive and intimate.

The last time most people saw Wayne, he was just a tiny bundle barely longer than Chad's forearm, swaddled up and sleeping. Now he was a chubby little ball of energy in his dad's arms.

Cooper showed up, and the first thing out of his mouth was, "Where's my little dumpling? Sweetie?"

"Cooper! Over here!" Henry popped out from under a table.

Cooper strolled over, crouched down, and lifted the tablecloth. "Come on out! If the nanny catches you hiding here again, you're gonna be in trouble." He'd picked up Henry's cheeky nickname for the nanny.

With Henry latched onto him, Cooper made his way over to see Wayne.

Every guest had to get a turn holding Wayne, and they all asked Molly the same question: "Is he walking yet?"

Molly answered, "He can stand."

Wayne was all dressed up, looking festive and adorable, and didn't cry no matter who held him—as long as his stylish mom was close by.

Hansen, meanwhile, was busy bragging to anyone who would listen. "She did it! My Mia is incredible. You wouldn't believe how hard she studied at home last year she dropped almost twenty pounds! Watching my grandson never made her lose that much, so you know she was working hard. And she scored second in her final exams!"

Everyone glanced at Mia, who didn't exactly look like she'd lost any weight. Hansen pointed at her and added, "Well, she gained it all back after she got in!"

Mia: "..."

Once he'd finished showing off Mia, Hansen went on, "But honestly, my eldest daughter-in-law is the real gem. Naomi never brags, but she's got the kindest heart, always thinking of others even if she never says it. When Mia was busy studying, Naomi had an extra little rascal to take care of."

Henry looked up at his grandpa. Wait, who's the rascal?

Hansen continued, "My little grandson is so particular-won't let the nanny look after him. Naomi hạd to take care of Henry every single day. You can't imagine the kind of mischief that boy can get into. Naomi really had her work cut out for her."

At that, Henry realized Grandpa was talking about him!

Hansen chuckled, "And as for my daughter...well, let's just say my son-in-law has

his work cut out for him."

Molly called out from across the room, "Dad, I can hear you, you know!"
