Chapter 1284
Mia didn't bother mentioning their vacation plans. Instead, she turned to Leo and asked, “Leo, how are you planning to spend the holidays by yourself this year? Anya can't be with you, right?"
Leo shrugged, "I'll just wing it."
Andre wrapped an arm around his wife's shoulders and said, "We better head home. If Henry keeps sleeping, his eyes will be brighter than headlights tonight."
Once they left, Leo, buzzing with excitement, cupped his girlfriend's face with both hands and kissed her right there at the hotel entrance. "I was wondering why you weren't packing your bags. I thought maybe you were planning to leave some clothes here and buy new ones for back home. So, you're sticking around? Let's go home!"noveldrama
Andre and his wife also headed back to the Irvin house. They managed to wake up Henry, who was in dreamland. He was grumpy and cried on the floor mat for a bit before settling down.
Later, Cooper took his nephew out to practice skateboarding. Henry, all wobbly and adorable, had Cooper's full attention.
They came across another little boy, about Henry's age, trying to skateboard alone. The boy didn't have the skills and his parents hadn't taught him. Plus, he was too young for the local skateboarding groups. As he played, he fell and sat there crying.
Initially, Cooper had been annoyed with the boy's parents for being unreasonable. But seeing the kid cry softened him. Holding his nephew's hand, he said, "Henry, let's help this little guy up."
Henry, with no hard feelings, grabbed the boy's hand, while Cooper did most of the lifting. It was Cooper's way of teaching his little buddy a lesson in kindness.
Soon, the boy's mom showed up. Recognizing the Irvin family, she stood there awkwardly thanking them.
Cooper couldn't help himself and said, "He's too young, doesn't have the leg strength yet. Skateboarding can be dangerous without proper supervision."
He wasn't in the mood to teach another kid but focused on his nephew instead. "Come on, buddy, let's head home."
Henry would occasionally take a tumble too. Being so young, he was just having fun. If he wasn't hurt, he'd get right back up, and Cooper would brush him off, encouraging him, “Alright, champ, keep going.”
Mia's days were laid-back. Cooper sometimes took his nephew out of the neighborhood to grab snacks from the supermarket, and they'd head home together.
Henry had someone to carry him when he got tired and someone to play with when he got bored. They'd box a little, visit the shooting range, and even go climbing on weekends.
Whenever they visited their grandfather, he'd greet them with, "Hey there, my little treasure! Have you lost weight?"
Mia, too, took some time for herself, wandering through shops and checking out clothes. It had been ages since she'd done that.
Annie, living in Crescent Park, found herself wanting to escape every night. Conner would block the door, "Where do you think you're going? You get to hit me during the day, and at night you're denying me some fun?"
Their nights were a wild ride, leaving Annie worn out. "Conner, don't you ever get tired?"
Conner smirked, "Hey, I only started enjoying the good stuff in my forties. I've got decades to catch up on. If I wasn't worried about messing with your work, do you think I'd stop at what I ask for each night?"
In the quiet of the night, their fingers intertwined, and Annie's hands were pinned above her head. The room was filled with an electric tension, and her soft murmurs gradually helped her let go.
During the day and night, their roles seemed to flip entirely.
What do you think?
