Super Mommy and Her Triplets

Chapter 138

Chapter 138

Of course, she had to play along and put up an act in front of Glen.

“Have you been a good boy while I was overseas, Max? You didn't give your aunt a hard time, did you?”

Maxton fought back the urge to throw up as he sat her down on a nearby chair.

“Eww... I smell something musky!” Zayron mumbled.

“You're right! There is indeed a musky smell in the air! That's strange... It wasn't here earlier!” Susan chimed in.

The smile on Rhonda's face was frozen in place as a murderous look filled her eyes.

D*mn it! These two brats are indirectly calling me a vixen!

By the time she snapped out of it, a piece of paper had been pasted on her face.

That was the last straw for Rhonda.

She smacked Maxton hard on the shoulder and shouted angrily, “Is this any way to treat your mother, Maxton? I think you need a beating to remind you how you should behave!”

That hit was so forceful that Maxton teared up on the spot.

He got so mad that he wished he could tear her to pieces right then and there. “Is this any way to treat

your son? Are you trying to kill me or something? I think you've dislocated my arm!” he yelled while glaring fiercely at her.

Rhonda froze as the sudden realization kicked in.

Oh my goodness... What have I done? I can't believe I hit Maxton in front of Old Mr. Chivers and Mrs. Chivers! I really need to have better control over my temper!

“I-I didn't mean to!” she stammered anxiously while reaching out to hold him, but Maxton refused to let her do so.

He jumped off the chair and ran straight into Bailey's arms, wailing.

Bailey instinctively gave him a hug before examining his arm.

As Rhonda had indeed smacked him quite hard, it left an obvious bruise on his tender skin.

“Oh no! My precious baby! Your arm is bruised! Let's get you checked out at the infirmary!” Gwendolyn exclaimed in shock from the side.

Rhonda's heart sank when she heard that.

Everyone knows how much that old hag from the Luther family loves this kid. He could tear the Luther residence apart, and no one would dare lay a finger on him. Now that I've bruised him, that old hag is definitely going to have my head!

Terrified by that thought, Rhonda got up from the chair and ran toward Maxton.

However, she had barely taken a few steps forward when Glen blocked her path with his cane.

“The kids were just playing with you. Did you really have to hit him that hard over a silly joke? Even an old man like myself is able to put up with their shenanigans, so why can't you? How will you become the matriarch of the Luther family if you're so petty? Honestly, I don't think you're worthy of my grandson!”

Rhonda felt a shiver down her spine.

“Granddad, I—”

“Don't call me 'Granddad,' Ms. Rhonda. You had the audacity to hit the Luther family's precious son. As far as I know, Artemis has no plans on marrying you, so you're not my granddaughter-in-law anyway!” Glen cut her off.

Rhonda was so shocked that she took a few steps back in response.

She then glanced at Bailey, her gaze meeting that of Maxton's in the process.

Upon noticing the gleeful look in his eyes, Rhonda finally understood that it was a set-up all along.

Those kids had prepared a trap for her, and she had walked right into it.

I can't believe I was tricked by a bunch of brats!

“What's the matter? Why is Max crying so loudly?”

The people in the study were alerted by the commotion and Maxton's incessant wailing. Naturally, Felicity was the first to come rushing out.

Upon arriving in the living room, she saw Bailey massaging Maxton's arm so hard that it was all red and swollen.

“What the heck do you think you're doing, Bailey? Are you trying to kill him or something?” she yelled while rushing forward, only to have Glen knock her back with his cane.

“Stay right there! She's treating his bruise by promoting blood circulation!”

Felicity shifted her gaze toward Gwendolyn and asked, “What's going on here, Gwendolyn? What happened to Max?”

“This kid got a little mischievous and pasted a piece of paper on his mommy's face, so she got angry and gave him a hard slap. It's nothing major, though. His skin is a little red and swollen, so Bay is massaging his arm to reduce the swelling,” Gwendolyn replied with a chuckle.

Felicity shot Rhonda an icy-cold glare as she shouted, “He's your son, Rhonda! How could you hit him so hard?”

My son? I want nothing but to tear him into a million pieces! Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

Rhonda forcefully suppressed her anger as she stammered, “I-I got a little mad earlier... His behavior seems to have gotten out of control after staying outside for some time, so I just thought I'd discipline

him. I didn't use a lot of force, though! Children have tender skin, so it turns red really easily. It'll go away in a bit!”

Maxton snorted coldly as he broke out of Bailey's embrace and ran up to Felicity. “My arm is dislocated, Grandma! Her slap hit harder than a baseball bat, so this woman is clearly trying to kill me! You mustn't let her move into the Luther residence again!”

Rhonda was trembling so much from anger that she could barely stand.

This b*stard is clearly doing it on purpose! He set me up because he knows I moved back into the Luther residence yesterday!

“Mrs. Luther, I...” Rhonda stared nervously at Felicity.

To her surprise, however, the look of anger in Felicity's eyes was replaced by a reassuring gaze as she said, “There's no need for you to feel guilty, Ronni. He's your son, so it makes perfect sense for you to discipline him. You're right; he has indeed gotten a little mischievous after staying outside for a while. I should be a little stricter with him as well.”

She then glared at Maxton, who was still clinging to her leg, as she said sternly, “After you return to the Luther residence with me, you will no longer associate yourself with those rascals. Is that understood?”

Rhonda was overjoyed when she heard that.

Oh, I see what Mrs. Luther is doing here... She hates Bailey, so she doesn't want her precious grandson to stay with her. She's using this opportunity to bring Maxton back to the Luther residence! Ha! In your face, you little sh*t! That's what you get for setting me up!

Zayron got up from his chair and waved at Maxton, prompting the latter to make his way over.

Zayron then whispered in his ear, “Make sure to teach her a good lesson after you go back there. Drive her out of the household as soon as possible!”

Maxton nodded and flashed him a cunning grin in response.

Leave it to me!

A look of confusion flashed past Cadence's eyes as he stared at Bailey.

Why do I feel like I've seen this woman before? She seems really familiar... That indifferent aura she's exuding seems to match that of a certain someone in my memory...
