Chapter 46 She Was So Worried About It
Calvin's face turned livid as he took bigger strides.
He tugged Jocelyn by her arm, and she felt as if she were floating above the ground, not walking. Her high heels got caught in the hem of her long dress, and she almost tripped.
"Ah..."
Jocelyn fell, kneeling directly under Calvin's suit pants facing his crotch. Calvin looked down at her, with an indescribable mixture of emotions on his face.
The way she knelt down was so...
He had never seen a woman so stupid that she tripped up when she walked.
Either because he resented her dawdling, or his patience might have run out, Calvin picked her up without saying a word, carried her on his shoulder, and strode away from Mermaidshine.
It was shitty.
This was so fucked up!
What the fuck was this?
He resented her slow walking just now but was protective of her.
He was acting kind of elusive!
"Mr. Austin! You... you put me down..."
No matter how much Jocelyn struggled, Calvin still carried her on his shoulder, instead of not putting her down, before he put her in the back of the car.
Craig, Marcus, and all the bodyguards were all surprised when they saw their master carrying a woman on his shoulder for the first time!
He was so badass!
They all felt that Ms. Austin and Mr. Austin were a perfect match!
On the way back, Jocelyn and Calvin sat side by side, and Jocelyn was absolutely seething. "Mr. Austin, do you know what gentlemanliness is? Can you be gentle with women? Don't you think what you do is always overbearing and out of line? You have no regard for others' feelings! I could only interpret that you've got problems with your character and manners!"
After Jocelyn complained to him, she turned her head to the window and did not want to talk to him anymore.
"..."
Calvin was frustrated, wondering why she was so hard on him.
It was like the story of The Snake and the Farmer! He kindly saved her, but she criticized him for being good-for-nothing, instead of thanking him.
She even said he got problems with his character and manners.
Damn it!
However, he thought she was not right in the head!
Jocelyn stopped talking to Calvin, and Calvin never wanted to talk to her again. They were deadlocked before they returned to Fallcastle in Tundra.
Marcus opened the car door for Jocelyn, and as soon as she got out of the car, she saw Tammy running towards her happily from the front door.
"Mommy..."
Her daughter's voice was tender and sweet. Jocelyn subconsciously opened her arms to greet her. "Tammy..."
"Mommy!"
Tammy jumped into her arms, excitedly rubbed her little cheek against her, and gave her a big kiss on the cheek!
A kiss from Tammy cleared up all her depression today. The sweet daughter was the best at comforting her.
Tammy cuddled with her mommy and noticed Calvin getting out of the car, but Calvin didn't say hello to her but went straight past them and into the door.
Hey, didn't her daddy see her?
Why didn't he talk to Tammy?
Entering the door hand in hand with mommy, Tammy looked up and asked, "Mommy, what's wrong with daddy? He keeps a poker face! He looks like he's angry."
"Hum, yeah! He's angry."
Jocelyn snorted in her heart. How dare he be angry?
To put it bluntly, Calvin was just too cocky and a real pisser! He should climb off his high horse!
Tammy thought it was a good time for her mommy and daddy to be together and said, "Mommy, go make good with daddy!"
"No way. He is a man, while I'm a girl. Why should I go please him? My little girl... you remember that there is a certain behavior that is expected of a girl, and you should let the boy entertain you. Otherwise, it's very degrading, understand?"
"Mmm."
Tammy nodded as if she understood, but she was still very worried. Her mom and dad had only been together a short time. What should she do when her daddy was mad now?
She hoped that her mommy and daddy would develop sincere feelings for each other. She didn't want them to be angry and at odds with each other. Well, she was desperately worried!
"Let's forget about him. Just let him be pissed since he's being so small-minded!" Jocelyn said to her daughter.
Tammy shook her head and sighed in her heart, thinking that his daddy was screwed up!
He was even more small-minded than a girl. When could he go to win her mommy's heart?
Oh... What a stupid dad. Tammy was so terribly worried about it!
Jocelyn went upstairs to her room. Just as she entered the door, she heard the sound of water rustling in the bathroom, and couldn't help but roll her eyes.
Calvin was totally a neat freak.
He actually took a shower as soon as he was back home. She just had just given him a kiss.
Just before she sat down on the couch to have some rest, she got a call from Veronica, who asked her about the auction.
Jocelyn leaned back on the couch and put her feet up. "Forget it! I'm so unlucky that I got caught by Ernest. Todd owns the copyright now."
Veronica asked, "So what are you going to do next?"
"I will talk to Todd sometime. He and I go back a long way, so I think I should be able to cooperate with him." Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
Veronica remembered something and reminded her, "Oh right. Jocelyn, I overheard Ernest talking. He seems intent on getting you back to pick up some of the losses. You're still under contract to Icehive Entertainment, and now he seems to try to exploit it."
"I get it. Even if I make a comeback, I don't want to work at Icehive Entertainment and be disgusted by their true colors again."
When Ernest persuaded her to sign a long-term contract five years ago, she thought it was a promise and guarantee he was giving her. But later, she realized how foolish she was to have fallen for Ernest's lousy trick.
That long-term contract was just an unconditional indentured servitude!
Ernest wanted her to continue working for Icehive Entertainment, but Jocelyn was not willing to slave away for them anymore.
"We'll see how things go. Let me know which entertainment company you want to sign with, and I'll hook you up."
"Okay, I'll let you know when I think of it."
After hanging up, Jocelyn called Todd, who had been looking for her and was worried sick. He was finally relieved to receive a call from her and know she was okay.
Jocelyn offered to meet him tomorrow, and Todd agreed without a second thought.
She had just put down her phone and was going to lie down for some rest when she turned around and saw Calvin coming out of the bathroom.
There was something different about him who had taken a shower today. He put on a long black bathrobe and was fully clothed instead of wearing a towel.
Jocelyn gave him a brief glance and felt that he was right to dress this way. It was a good thing that he didn't show his nice body, otherwise, she was afraid that she could not help herself!
But then again, a man in good shape really looked stunning in anything!
When he was wearing the black bathrobe, he had a slightly mysterious and ascetic quality. He was very masculine, and manly, which made him more charismatic!
Calvin walked into the room and looked straight ahead. He didn't look at her from the beginning to the end, just ignoring her completely.
Was he still angry with her?
