Jayden blinked his eyes a few times when he felt Juan’s slight movement.

“What are you doing, son? Are you hungry?” Jayden asked as he gently stroked Juan’s body. But the baby’s whining got louder and louder until it finally burst into tears.

Jayden who panicked immediately carried Juan in his arms. The man’s netra went around looking for Hera’s whereabouts but couldn’t find him.

Jayden came out of the room to look for Hera’s whereabouts. He sighed softly when he saw the woman was sleeping on the sofa. The man approached her and lightly grabbed the woman’s shoulder.

“Hera wake up! Looks like Juan is hungry,” Jayden said quietly.

Hera moaned softly, opened her eyes and began to gather her consciousness. She didn’t say anything as she carried Juan in her arms.

While Hera breastfed Juan, Jayden sat beside her. Paying attention to Hera who seems to be still very sleepy. Seen from her wistful face, she even yawned several times.

Hera also began to realize that Jayden kept watching her.

“What is it?” asked Hera, looking at Jayden with a questioning look.

After that night’s fight they were never this close again. Jayden didn’t answer Hera’s question but his gaze never left her. Seeing Jayden staring at her — to be precise at her chest — for some reason Hera reflexively turned around.

“Get ready! We’re taking Juan to the hospital today,” Jayden said.

“Okay,” Hera answered quickly without changing her position.

Jayden stepped away but on the third step, the man stopped and then turned around. “There’s no need to hide it. Besides, I’ve seen and even smoked it,” Jayden said suddenly making Hera’s eyes and mouth wide open.

Hera turned to look at Jayden. “What are you saying!” shouted Hera throwing the sofa cushion at Jayden. The irony was that the pitch didn’t hit Jayden at all, not even enough to make the man laugh and then walk away. Leaving Hera who was staring intently in annoyance at the man’s temptation.

Even though they didn’t really notice. Togetherness for almost a year gives an effect like a sense of longing. Jayden really likes to tease Hera and Hera herself really likes it when Jayden teases her. It doesn’t matter how red her face gets.

As it is now. They laughed together involuntarily. True happiness is very desirable but is masked by selfish and greedy attitudes.

“Let me carry his,” Jayden said after opening the door for Hera. The woman nodded then put Juan who was sleeping in Jayden’s arms. “You just bring the equipment,” he continued walking first.

Hera could only follow behind without saying much. She dont know how it feels but Jayden has changed a bit. Like nothing happened between them. The man and Hera even smiled at each other like a happy married couple.

Because had made an appointment in advance, Juan was immediately treated by Emi’s doctor.

“So how is Juan, Doctor?” Jayden asked after Juan’s examination session was over. The little baby had woken up and was now on Hera’s lap who was sitting next to Jayden.

“Turns out he’s just a normal fever, but don’t ignore it too much. So if you can, please take him regularly for checkups, especially since Juan was born prematurely,” said Doctor Emi, looking at Jayden and Hera in turn.

“Okay, Doc. We’ll be coming here more often,” Jayden replied.

“Yes, Mr. Jayden. Because we really have to monitor your child’s progress,” Doctor Emi replied, nodding slowly.

“Thank you very much, Doc. Then we’ll say goodbye,” Jayden said standing up followed by Hera. They left from there. Until they got in the car Jayden suddenly asked, “Are you hungry?”

“Eh?” Honestly, Hera was afraid she had heard wrong.

“You hungry? Because I’m really hungry right now. Should we eat before we go home?” Jayden asked.

Hera nodded without thinking. “All right. It’s up to you,” she said. Hera wasn’t naive, she was very happy right now. Really.

“Okay!” After saying that, Jayden immediately stepped on the leaving the hospital parking lot.

On the way, whether consciously or not, Hera occasionally stole glances at Jayden. Maybe it’s because we haven’t seen each other for a long time — it can’t be said that it’s been a long time, only three days but for Hera it was a very long time — Hera felt homesick for that man.

Casual clothes and hair that is not neat but not messy either, Jayden looks very charming behind the wheel of a car.

“Let’s go in!” Jayden said again. He couldn’t wait to fill his stomach which started to protest in there.

Not only that place that Jayden still remembers clearly. Even Hera’s favorite menu was still remembered by the man.

They eat food in silence. Even though Hera really hoped that there would be a little conversation between them.

‘Am I too greedy?’ Hera thought quietly. She then lowered her face. Eating food that somehow tasted bland.

Before Hera could finish her food, Juan suddenly became cranky.

“Hey honey how are you doing?” Even though the baby might not understand Hera would always ask.

Because he didn’t stay still, Hera got up from her seat and held Juan, gently patting her body. Luckily Jayden had reserved a special room for them. It was also because the man wanted the baby not to be disturbed by strangers.

“Here, let me calm him down,” Jayden said. “You go on with your meal,” Jayden continued after Juan was in his arms.

“Are you done?” asked Hera.

“Yes,” replied Jayden and then started busy calming Juan.

Hera looked at Juan’s back in doubt. Wondering in your heart, what actually happened to her husband? Why is he being so gentle and looking so sincere? Was he deliberately confusing Hera? If so, then that guy is a total jerk.

But if Jayden really did change, would Hera be willing to come back with him again?
