Alexander looked at Amelia with an unknown emotion while Amelia looked up at him.

Alexander flicked her forehead and said, “Dummy, it’s my duty as your husband to protect you, but I want you to repay me though..”

Amelia sighed as she scratched her hair a bit “Huh how do you like to get repaid then??”

Alexander used his index finger to raise her chin to look him in the eyes, alexander said:

“I want you to be my Partner in the ball..” Alexander said almost in a whisper as if he was begging her to accept him.

Amelia was dumbfounded for a while as she searched Alexander’s gaze.

“Oh-Okay I can do that,” Amelia said and Alexander breathed out a sigh of relief.

“Okay, now cheer up” Alexander said with a small smile and Amelia immediately touched the edge of his nose

“You did that right?? No denying it”

Alexander raised his hands in surrender and Amelia gazed at him for a while before saying with a small voice “Don’t let me get so lazy and keep relying on you for things”

Alexander pitched her cheek a bit “Silly, rely on me and I’m gonna let you fall and you might end up hitting your head on a concrete wall” Alexander teased and Amelia laughed a bit

“That’s why I’m never gonna take your help seriously,” Amelia said as she adjusted her skirt.

“Really??”Alexander stressed his statement amusingly and Amelia nodded.

Alexander just smirked and stared at Amelia for a while as he thought of when last he ever laughed heartily.

He was always a workaholic when he was with Hilary, he didn’t have much time for their relationship but he still loved her deeply.

When he came across Amelia, he just wanted to run from work and come back home to spend the day with her.

He closed the door and gestured for the driver to come in and he walked to the other side and entered the car.

“Since we got the dress, are you returning to the office??” Amelia asked and Alex shook his head.

“No, I have to go drop you off in Eastern land, Before heading to the warehouse, My goods just arrived and I have to inspect them,” Alexander said calmly and Amelia immediately understood what he meant by ‘Goods’

Alexander furrowed his brows “Say, tell me your real thoughts, are you comfortable with me being a Mafia?? You must think I’m a bad person, aren’t you scared I might do something to you?? Everyone knows I’m so heartless and evil”

“Yunno my mom died because she viewed my dad as a generous and kind loving man just as People have painted him to be, she judged him based on what people say about him,” Amelia said slowly, still looking at the window

“And that cost her, her life” Amelia let out a small laugh that had Mockery in it “I don’t judge you, the world is now ruled and controlled by those in power, it’s either you kill or get killed”

Turning to face Alexander, Amelia said “If you were evil and heartless, I wouldn’t be here today with my complete legs, I know I cause trouble a lot which is a reason for you to have disabled my legs. I view you from my perspective Alex and I’m not the least scared of you!” Amelia snorted at Alexander “I’ll tell you a secret”

Alexander wrinkled his brow at her “What’s that??”

Amelia chuckled and gestured for Alexander to come closer and he did so skeptically and leaned on Amelia and Amelia held his head for the second time today.

Alexander wasn’t expecting anything less as he let her hold his head

“I have this strong attractiveness towards Handsome men so I’m not scared of you” Amelia whispered into his ear and Alexander immediately stiffened all over.

He felt a tickling sensation on his chest as his stomach twirled in excitement.

A smile threatened to come out but he tried to suppress it, making him look so funny.

Amelia pushed his head and looked at the window again.

Alexander grumbled “You always push me away after getting what you want”

Amelia glanced at him and showed an innocent expression before looking at the window again.

Alexander didn’t say anything more and just relaxed on the chair and enjoyed the ride home.

After dropping Amelia at the mansion, the driver immediately drove out from the compound again.

Amelia walked into the house with the bag containing the dress, she was so shy about what she said to Alexander earlier.

But it was true though, She had always liked any handsome guy.

Meanwhile, Alexander went to the warehouse to inspect his newly brought weapons.

“Elliot, what about the deal with Shark Spare??” Alexander asked obviously in a bright mood.

“Master, all his orders have been arranged, ready for export!” Elliot immediately reported back

“You’re doing a wonderful job, Elliot, you’ll get a reward of fifty thousand dollars,” Alexander said as his eyes roamed around the warehouse

Elliot was happy but maintained a calm face as he bowed “Thank you for your generosity Master” Elliot could feel the rear glow from his master.

After checking everything and handling some matters at the warehouse, it was about 4 pm so Alexander went back to Eastern land.

The driver immediately parked at the garage and Alexander walked out when his phone rang.

He gazed at his phone before answering it “Hello”

Ash’s voice came from the other end “I didn’t see you at the office, are you also attending the ball this evening??” Ash asked and that got alexander raising his brows questionably.

“And how did you come to know about the ball??” Alexander asked

“Well you know, Your father is not the only one known by Mr. Whacker, he’s my dad’s acquaintance so he invited our family but I’ll be the one attending instead of my dad who’s on a business trip,” Ash said as she bite her lips nervously before saying “I guess it’s still both of us going there as partners right??”

“No!” Alexander said without any hostility as he walked towards the mansion.

Ash was confused, she has being and always have tagged along with Alexander as his partner whenever they were going to such places but now, why??

“I already have a partner…..” Alexander said as he walked into the living room to see Amelia sitting in the room with his panther-looking dog.

Ash didn’t quite get what Alexander meant by already having a partner.

Ash began to have ideas about this partner but she asked to be sure “Who-Who’s this partner??”

Alexander walked towards Amelia who was eating a chip from a bowl with steady steps.

“Too many questions, well it’s my Wife, satisfied?? Okay then see you in a few minutes” Alexander said and removed the phone from his ear and came to meet Amelia who was chewing the chips in her mouth.

Amelia looked up at him as she kept eating the chips but she still remembered to say “Welcome back”

Alexander dragged on his tie and stood in front of Amelia and suddenly held her head and started caressing it.

Amelia frowned as she kept looking at him with an expression of What’s wrong with this guy again??
