I watched Dad as he went to sleep and then I left myself. I should not be saying the word dad now but I

still I am used to it, it is not worth it to try to change his title. I do not know why but for some reason, I

felt bad about myself. I was a burden on dad's shoulders my whole life.

I brushed this idea off as I stepped out of the car and went up to my room, now I know for sure that

Shawn's uncle is somehow involved with my father, also, Gerald clearly has an ulterior motive.

" Jessy, is Gerald still awake?" I asked.

" Yes, miss," Jessy called me 'miss' since we were outside of my room and her words might be heard.

Gerald is a fan of hierarchy which suits his status well.

" Did you finish your visit?" Gerald questioned as he saw me entering his office. He was typing on his

laptop and immersed in his work.

" Yes thankfully, Should I come back later?"

" No, I probably know what you want to talk about, I do not want to procrastinate this any longer," he

stated as he stood up to focus on our conversation.

" Shawn told me that he has signed a contract with you in which he would work in his company and

also in yours for half a year,"

" Yeah, that is true. You did a great job accomplishing your mission, Lily."

" I guess we shall sign our contract as well," I initiated.

" Sure thing, here you go," he said while giving me the document I previously signed.

" You signed it?" I asked surprised.

" Yeah,"

" I am free to go then,"

" I would like it better if you kept living with us, Lily. You are a great kid and I am happy to see my son

falling in love with you,"

"Shawn will find a much better woman than me, also, I wish to not inconvenience you anymore,"

"You won't, I will make sure bodyguards won't follow you around from now on. You can move freely," he

added giving me an envelope that contained the amount of money mentioned in the contract in cash, a

total of 20 thousand dollars.

" Say no more dear, now go rest in your room," he said ending our conversation as if he was saying

I decided to go back to my room, I do not honestly know what I was expecting but it definitely was not

this. I will not ask him about what I have discovered now until I understand all the details and secure

my life. I opened my laptop and searched the name Indigo Finland.

All I found about him is that he was a fine man who cared about his reputation the most, everyone

loved him and he had a very big company of chemicals. His wife died before him and he had kids. My

eyes came upon something so interesting though.

' It is known for the public that Mr. Gerald Finland didn't take over his late brother's company as for now

all we knew that ChemiPharma is lead internally by the CEO who Indigo has hired himself, Mr. Siergo.

Jessy previously mentioned that Indigo and Gerald faced a few problems before Indigo's death. It is

normal that the company would be led by Gerald since he is the only relative left for Indigo. His will

should be distributed between Gerald and Shawn; this is a little bit weird.

Why did Indigo meet with my mom? Am I really his daughter? ... If I were, would he include me in a will

if he refused to send my mom envelopes of money that amounted to nothing compared to his wealth?

No, I do not think so but this is the only explanation that I can get for Gerald's behavior.

He might want to take care of his brother's daughter, but why didn't he tell me? Was he afraid that I

might ask for my share in the will? Isn't that natural though? There is still a missing piece that I will

have to find out. I decided to disguise myself and go visit ChemiPharma tomorrow after college. I hope

them," he clarified in a manly voice that managed to melt my heart.

" We have to go, the class is about to start," I mentioned.

" You didn't tell me whether dad signed the contract or not,"

" He did, thank you very much."

" No need, babe," he said increasing his voice's volume for everyone to hear as we were walking in the

corridor now.

All students stared our way and I covered my face with the backpack I had with me as I hurried to

class. I could hear Shawn's laughter all the way to my class; he liked to tease me a lot. He knew that I

get embarrassed easily and I guess he found that part of me cute.

I think that the only thing that stopped me from running away now is that I do not want to leave Shawn

behind; I like him by my side even though I know I should not.
