Helping Beverly into the house, Eric didn’t expect to see me standing there, so he was momentarily
surprised. With a smile on my face, I said, ‘President Walker, you’re back.’
Seeing me standing there with a glass of water and all smiles, a flash of irritation flitted through his
eyes as he stood there looking at me, holding Beverly.
Clearly, Beverly was very drunk and didn’t notice me standing in the doorway to the kitchen. Reaching
out to embrace Eric, she said, ‘Eric? Eric, why aren’t we walking? I don’t feel well, so can you carry me
back to the room?’
Seeing that scene was quite amusing. I slowly put the cup over my mouth and took a sip of water.
Without taking a step. Eric looked at me and pursed his lips tightly. From the looks of it, he seemed to
be fuming with rage inside.
Why was he angry anyway? I didn’t want to see him making a fool of himself here.
Upon hearing the commotion, Sharon left and immediately went to support Beverly. ‘Why did you drink
so much?’ she scolded.
Along with Sharon on the other side, Eric helped Beverly back to her room. Putting down my glass, I
followed them upstairs, but went to my room and locked the door right after.
Frankly, I wasn’t upset, but I found it quite amusing. Turning my computer back on, I continued
watching the horror drama series.
As I was fully engrossed in the plot of the horror drama, I felt my heart leap into my throat. I suddenly
felt that there was another person present in the room. At first I thought it was just my imagination –
until I felt something breathing down my neck. The moment I turned around, I saw a ghost mask right
next to me – it was the exact same mask worn by the killer in the horror drama!
Pale with terror, I let out a piercing scream of fear.
In the next second, a hand covered my mouth. “I thought you were bolder than that.”

Throwing the mask to the floor, Eric chuckled. “I’ve never met a woman like you.” Who in the world
would watch a horror show alone in the middle of the night?
“Well, that’s none of your business, is it?” Throwing him a glare, I asked, ‘President Walker, do you
think it’s appropriate to enter my office without even knocking?’
“I knocked, but you didn’t answer. I thought something had happened to you, so I took the keys to open
your door.
‘Right, you were worried about me, and that’s why you came with this mask?’
‘When I opened the door and saw that you were all looking at the screen, I went out to get the mask.’
‘Okay, I’m fine now. Smice, you just checked in, President Walker, you can leave now. With an icy
glare, I urged him to leave.
‘Lilian Hawking. I challenge you to address me as President Walker again!’
‘You can call now, President Walker!
‘You vile woman!’ Stepping forward, he cupped my face and planted a fierce kiss on my lips!
