Chapter 469

Eric had set the water temperature just right. Then he rubbed me seriously as I kept my head down, not

daring to look at him. Even when he dried me off with the towel and carried me from the bathroom to

bed, I was still a little confused. “Do you need my help getting dressed?” He reached out

and tapped me on the nose.

“No, I will do it myself.”

“All is well then. I am going to take a bath.”

When I saw him turning, I muttered under my breath, “Thank you.”

“Just a thank you?” He turned and smirked as he glared at me. “I hope you found my services

satisfactory. It was my first time giving someone a bath, but I will do even better in the future!”

In the future? Don’t tell me he expects to help me shower again? My face burned with embarrassment.

Excited, Eric went back to the bathroom. When he came out after showering, I was already

dressed. After getting dressed too, he suggested, “Let’s go out for something to eat.”

I didn’t object and walked out with him, whereupon he naturally took my hand. After having skin-to-skin

contact, holding hands like this felt so much more

natural.

When we finished eating, he took me around town. Passing a small retail store, he bought me a

bouquet of heathers. Seeing that he didn’t seem to be planning on leaving anytime soon, I couldn’t

resist asking, “When are we leaving?”

“Why? Don’t you want to stay here a few more days?” Looking at me, he smiled wickedly. “I’m planning

to stay here for a week.”

“No!” I refused at once. Although I was enjoying my time with Eric immensely, I also knew that it would

be very dangerous if I continued to flirt with him. To be on the safe side, I’d better leave this town

quickly. I was really scared of losing myself in him when I was still a married woman at the end of the

day.

Seemingly not expecting me to reject him so firmly, a flicker of disappointment crossed Eric’s eyes. He

was silent for a moment before saying, “Alright then. Let’s go back and pack.”

I could tell Eric was in a bad mood when we left Lüneburg as he drove silently without saying a single

word. I wonder why he is depressed. Anyway, I’d better not bother you. The atmosphere was extremely

tense at this point. So I grabbed my phone to play the game, only to catch a glimpse of a message

from Victoria that said, ‘Lily, Carson hasn’t been home in a week!’ Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

I knew where he went without even having to think about it. I suddenly felt quite ridiculous. I was feeling

uncomfortable and embarrassed about my affair with Eric, but my husband has been living with his

mistress without any qualms! Is there still a need to perpetuate my marriage when it is already rotten to

the core?

As the car accelerated, Eric turned on the cell phone that had been turned off for three days. Then I

heard calls incessantly and he answered while driving. Meanwhile, I was looking listlessly at the

landscape outside through the car window.

Out of nowhere, I noticed that the buildings on the side of the road looked quite different from the ones

I saw when we arrived. Taking advantage of a lull in Eric’s phone calls, I instantly asked, “Aren’t we

going back the same way?”

“Who told you we’re going back the same way? He looked at me.
