Chapter 426

“You took your time.” Eric looked unhappy.

“I was taking a shower.”

“For two hours? Liar,” he retorted.

“I fell asleep in the bathtub.” God, even I felt embarrassed saying that.

“You’re stupid? What if you catch a cold?” he scolded. “Guess what I’m doing now?”

“I don’t know.”

“You haven’t even made a guess.”

Wow, a guessing game? Childish. I almost scoffed, but stopped myself. “Flirting at the club? Hanging

out with your friends? Accompanying Camille to the hospital?”

Letting out three answers at once, all my guesses were wrong. “Can’t you be more creative?”

“No, sorry. Just spit. That’s annoying.” I was getting frustrated.

It made him furious. “I’m outside your house, you dumbass!” he spat. “Do you have a minute. If you

can’t get out, you’ll make it.”

Shit, him getting mad is bad news. I quickly came downstairs in pajamas and slippers. My parents had

retired for the night, so there was no one in the room. When Mrs. Fant saw me, she asked, “Where are

you going, Lily?”

“My friend came, so I’m going out for a bit.”

Quickly afterwards, I ran into the backyard and opened the gates, revealing a car that was parked

across the street. When his headlights flickered once, I walked over to him. Afterwards, Eric leaned

over and opened the door for me. “Why are you here? It’s late.” I got in the car.

“Not when I came here. I told you I waited for two whole hours.” He was irritated.

I hated waiting so I knew a two hour wait was torture. “Sorry,” I apologized.

He softened a little. “All good. I’ll let it go this time, but only because you’re careless.” Then he looked

at me. “Did you go out in your pajamas?”

“I only had a minute, so there was no time to think.” I made up an excuse. Meh, I’ll dress up for the

guys I like. You are not one of them, so get out.

A smile tugged at the corner of her lips. “Your pajamas aren’t really in style, but you look great in them.”

Wait, was he complimenting me? He didn’t need to mock me before that. And it wasn’t out of fashion. I

saw a lot of ladies going out in this kind of pajamas.

While I was mumbling silently, Eric grabbed a bouquet of flowers from the backseat. “For you.”

“And why are you giving me flowers?” I looked at the Casa Blanca he was holding.

“I thought you women loved flowers.” Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

“But I never said I like Casa Blancas.”

“Well, what do you like then?”

“Nothing in particular. I like a whole garden of them. Something like a big bed of lavender, tulips, roses,

you get the idea.”
