Sinking Love into the Abyss Novel

CHAPTER 4

At night, after washing up, I started working on the unfinished design.

As I was concentrating on my drawing, the phone on my desk suddenly lit up.

It was a video sent by Laura.

I hesitated for a moment, intending to delete it, but accidentally opened the video.

As the video was opened, a familiar voice floated out of it.

“Anker, all of this is my daughter’s fault. She is not in her right

E now, so you

mustn’t hold grudges against her. She said she wants to break up, but that’s just a passing thought. As her mother, I have the most authority to speak on this matter. She has always been like this–stubborn and annoying…”

Hearing my mother’s words, I couldn’t help but tremble.

Why did she have to do this? Why did she have to cruelly pick up my wounds in front of others?

My original family was a hurdle I could never get over, something I didn’t want to facé.

I haven’t told Anker about many things until now.

But she had revealed them all, showing my pain and wounds to others without

reservation.

Laura only sent a video, but I could imagine how smug she must be now.

My mind went blank, and my cold hands trembled helplessly.

When I came to my senses, the video had already finished playing.

I hurriedly stood up, grabbed my phone, and went out to find her.

As I rushed into the elevator, I noticed in the mirror that I was already crying my eyes

out.

I choked up, trying to wipe away my tears, but they flowed more heavily.

Even the taxi driver sympathetically said, “Young lady, I’m sorry for your loss.”

I didn’t say anything, just wiping my tears.

I thanked him quietly when I got out of the car.

I hurriedly rushed to Anker’s house.

Just as I entered the password and walked in, I saw the woman who was about to kneel down to Anker.

There was also Laura standing by to watch the show.

My face turned cold, and I walked quickly towards her, pulling her nearly bent body up. “What are you doing?” I asked angrily.

My mother saw me and seemed to have found a savior. She grabbed my hand and said,

“You’ve come just in time. You should apologize to Anker right away. It was your fault, apologizing is not embarrassing.”

She pushed me from behind, trying to force me to bow down.

Anker frowned coldly and said indifferently, “There’s no need to apologize to me. Apologize to Laura instead: After all, it was she who was cursed.”

“Oh, right, quickly apologize to Miss Linton.”

She pulled and made me apologize to Laura.

I couldn’t bear it anymore and snatched her hand away, shouting angrily, “Enough!”

My mom was stunned by the shout, looking at me in shock.

Anker’s brow furrowed even deeper, and Laura instinctively moved behind him, “Coral, don’t be angry. She was out of good intention…”

“Well, look how kind Laura is. Why can’t you understand my good intentions?” My mother patted her chest in frustration. “I did all this for your good, otherwise, how could I lower my status as an elder to apologize for you?”

“Mrs. Austin, you can go now. Coral is currently upset, and I’ll talk to her when she calms down,”

I glanced at the three people standing on the same front in front of me and showed at sarcastic smile.

“What’s there to talk about? Talk about your romantic entanglements, or when you started sleeping together?”
