Shrouded Affections Winning Back My CEO Wife

Chapter 884

Chapter 884:

“Good. You may all leave now,” Leyla dismissed them with a wave of her hand. Then, she stopped Tracey and said, “You, pack your things and leave right now. You have been part of the Vazquez family for many years, and I’ve treated you well. How could you betray the Vazquez family now?”

Tracey’s face turned deathly pale. She glanced at Gianna, whose head was lowered. Although Gianna seemed reluctant to accept the situation, she clearly couldn’t speak up for Tracey.

“I was forced into this. Please give me another chance. I promise this won’t happen again!” Tracey pleaded, falling to her knees in front of Eileen.

“Somebody, take her away,” Leyla commanded. She directed several bodyguards, supported by Bryan.

The bodyguards promptly stepped forward and escorted Tracey away. The sound of her crying and pleading slowly faded into the distance.

Eileen did not intervene. She understood Leyla’s discomfort of having been confined in the mansion for so long and the grievances she had suppressed all these years.

Once seated, Leyla addressed Conroy and Gianna. “You two will be officially married later.

The words hung heavy in the air. The room fell silent, with only Gabriela’s babbling breaking the stillness.

“Grandma,” Eileen said, looking at Leyla in disbelief. “Are you sure you want to hold a wedding, not a funeral?”

“I might be old, and my hearing isn’t what it used to be,” Leyla replied. “But I know what I’m saying. I’m throwing them a wedding! Gianna is a Vazquez family daughter, after all. In this family for over 40 years. Even a dog gets a parting treat before it leaves, don’t you think? Of course, Gianna will have a wedding since she’s married now!”

Eileen fell silent. Leyla’s sharp irony made her feel amused, but the room remained still. She wanted to laugh, but it felt inappropriate.

Leyla continued, “And don’t forget, Conroy has been part of this family for over 40 years. Since they’re getting married, I’ll throw them a grand wedding!”

Gianna clenched her jaw. “This is a disgrace to the Vazquez family’s reputation! Aren’t you worried people will laugh at our family?”

Leyla patted her cheek. “If anyone loses face because of this, it’s me, not you. And at my age, I’m a little gossip!”

Conroy’s face darkened, but he dared not say anything. He hadn’t gone to work in the morning, and his phone had been ringing nonstop. It had finally fallen silent five minutes ago; the battery had probably died.

He could have used work as an excuse to leave, but looking at Bryan’s calm expression made him unable to say anything.

“Eileen, you’ll have to take care of the wedding arrangements for Conroy,” Leyla said, continuing to eat. “I’m too old to handle it myself. And remember, the Vazquez family has enough money for this. The bigger the wedding, the better. Invite everyone!” She patted Eileen’s hand.

Eileen nodded. Weddings here were different; invitations had to be delivered personally. Leyla was clearly putting her in charge of the wedding invitations.
