Chapter 29 - Robin’s Topic
Jada and Daniel head to a restaurant in Centro. But since she's still feeling full, she opted for a light meal and the same goes for her date.
"You sure you're okay with that?" he even asked.
"Yeah, I'm not really hungry."
It felt a little awkward going out with someone as popular as Daniel Agosti. From when they came in until they were seated, all attention was on them. "Uncomfortable?" he asked, likely sensing her uneasiness.
"Not really. I'm a little conscious though, I feel like all eyes are on us," she whispered.
He looked around and chuckled. There's a group of girls who waved at him when his eyes landed on them. The other girls looked like they were about to faint as he glanced at them. "All eyes are on you!" he told her. "You did catch their attention. Mine too!"
Jada just shook her head. These girls are definitely after her attention. They're trying to catch Daniel's. Who won't be? It's Daniel Agosti anyway!
She suddenly felt irritated. These girls are so desperate for attention and it's starting to annoy her. She really hates girls who chase men. It's just so unbecoming.
"I think we should hurry and leave. Before they snatch you away from me," he giggled, motioning towards the table of bachelors.
Jada glanced towards the direction he gestured and one of the men even waved at her. "These assholes!" he muttered through gritted teeth.
"We can leave now if you're done," she told him before he lost his composure.
He nodded and called for the waiter to get their bill. While waiting, she started checking on her phone and saw Honey's message. They're already at the club.
After paying, Daniel offered a hand which she took with a smile. Before going out, she excused herself to go to the restroom first.
When she came out, Daniel was already talking to a woman she's not familiar with. She looked like she was asking him something because she saw nodding and shaking his head from time to time in response. Jada felt irritated so she quickly approached Daniel and hooked her arm to his. The woman smirked at her but she just smiled in return.
"Let's go?" Daniel asked and she nodded. He then turned towards the woman flirting with him. "I'll go ahead. My girlfriend's here," he told her, smiling.
She was shocked by what he said but chose to ignore it. Jada just followed him as he led her out of the restaurant to his car.
"Sorry, I had to say that!"
"It's fine. No worries," she understood. He said that to get rid of the woman and that's alright with her.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
Jada and Daniel headed to the club. Thirty minutes later, Lyken and Natalie came. Looking around, he easily spotted them as there were not many people at the club.
Kobe and Lyken introduced the woman to their friends. But of course, Lyken can't help but look at Jada and Daniel who are whispering at one another while seated at the corner of the couch.
Everyone got their glasses so he asked the waiter to bring two for him and Natalie. He even poured a drink for her.
"How long have you guys been here?" he asked Kobe, not taking his eyes off the couple who were quietly conversing. "An hour or so, but Jada and Daniel got here thirty minutes ago," he responded.
"How many glasses has she finished?"
"That's her first, it's actually surprising," Kobe chuckled.
That was indeed surprising. Most of the time, Jada has already consumed a bottle of tequila in as short as thirty minutes.
But it seemed like he's controlling her alcohol in the meantime. Or maybe she doesn't have much time to drink as she was busy whispering with Daniel.
After a while, Ada started inviting everyone to the dancefloor. As usual, he spotted someone good-looking that's why he's in a hurry to get the guy's attention. Everyone stood up except for Jada and Daniel. Now, that is unusual. Back then, Jada would always be the first one to hustle to the dancefloor, now she passed.
While there, Lyken can't stop himself from glancing at the two. She can see how Jada's enjoying her conversation with her date. As if there's no one else aside from the two of them. Moments after, Jada stood up and Daniel followed. She went to the restroom and Daniel stayed by the door. He waited for her and even escorted her back to the table. 'Hold up, why am I watching their every move? Jada doesn't even seem to care that I'm here and I'm with another woman.'
Lyken felt weak, in his heart and entire body. It's as if he's about to lose it. He can't believe that she's really okay with the idea that he's dating someone else. 'What is this? Are we really just friends?'

Jada, on the other hand, didn't feel bored, even for a minute, though she didn't dance the whole night. She wasn't even surprised that she didn't drink that much.
She had a good time talking to Daniel. She had fun hearing his stories about his career, race car driving, as well as his travels abroad.
According to him, he has two older siblings. Her sister was a former model too before she married an Italian businessman.
"Do you have something going on with Lyken?" he asked out of the blue. They're in the car, driving home.
"He's my ex-boyfriend. Like, three years ago," she replied, though she's confused why he's asked.
"I see! That's probably why he kept watching us while we were talking," he added.
Jada can't help but smile. 'For real? Lyken was watching us?' She doesn't really want to put a meaning to what Daniel said, but she can't help but wonder why Lyken did that. He's probably surprised by her behavior while at the club. He's used to her dancing until her feet hurt and drinking until she can't anymore.
"Do you want to come in?" she asked when they reached her condo.
"Nah, maybe next time. I know you're tired. You should rest," he answered, smiling as he lightly tapped her by the shoulder.
"Ok then!"
Jada kissed him on the cheek when they came out of the car. She was about to turn her back but he held her hand, "By the way, Jada, do you have plans for your birthday?" "We're planning to go to the beach. You wanna come?"
"How long will it be?"
"Hmm... We're booked for a week. We're leaving Friday."
"You sure I can go?"
She nodded at him and he gave her a salute before walking to the driver's seat. He waited for her to get inside the elevator before starting his car.
When Jada entered her unit, everyone was there except for Natalie. "Wow, Ja! That's a beautiful smile right there!" Steve chaffed.

"Any news on your date? He didn't let go of you the whole night!"
"True! She didn't even dance with us!" Bambi frowned.
She laid down on the couch, resting her head on Robin's lap before she turned to them. "That was my choice! I had fun exchanging career stories with him," she responded to the pinks. "Hmm... is that why you didn't drink much too?" Robin asked as he combed her hair with his fingers. Jada nodded and the pinks squealed when they saw her response.
"We're leaving for Huesca this Friday right?" she asked Honey and her friend nodded.
"Why? Are we canceling?" Steve asked.
Jada shook her head, "I invited Daniel, just making sure I told him the right day," she giggled and the pinks started shrieking again.
"Ah yeah, by the way, will it be ok if Natalie joins us too?" We're supposed to start the construction on Monday but we had to reschedule because of our Huesca trip," Kobe informed them. "Yeah, of course! You guys invite her so she can enjoy her time here first before you guys start working. We're only staying there for a week anyway," Jada responded.
Kobe then turned to Lyken, punching his friend lightly on the arm, "Go ahead and invite her Ly!"
"Oh! Lyken's a grown up now!" Jada teased but he only smiled at her as he took out his phone.
"Drop it guys! What's with this drama? Why don't you two just reconcile and stop making each other jealous!" Robin called them off.
Lyken and Jada looked at each other. She laid down again, this time, resting her head on Lyken's lap. "What's your problem?" she asked, smirking at Robin.
"You two are very obvious, actually. You're just trying to make each other jealous by pretending to date someone else. I don't think you don't like each other anymore. Why don't you just fix whatever's the problem between the two of you and get back together?"
She was in awe after hearing Robin's rant. Even Lyken was rendered speechless, that he could only shake his head at their friend.
"Robin, can you not get into their case? Mind your own business and leave them alone. Those two are at the right age, they know what they're doing," Honey scolded him.
Robin pouted at her before turning to them again, "I just don't get it. Why do you have to hurt each other when it's obvious that you still like one another? That you still love each other. That's just weird!"
Jada can't stand listening to Robin anymore, she stood up before he could speak again. "You're drunk, Rob. Go to bed!" forcing a laugh as she heads to the kitchen.
'This moron! Why would he even bring up the issue between me and Lyken? I'm not yet prepared to answer anything related to that!'
