Chapter 112
"Mr. Gulliford, Mr. Whiteburn is here." This sentence attracted the attention of Trevor and Jessica.
Without needing any further explanation, both of them knew Mr. Whiteburn was Alfred.
"That's all for today." Trevor closed his laptop as he massaged his wrist before leaving the room.
It's been so long since I chatted with Alfred. It's great that he visited me on his own accord, Trevor thought.
Jessica was worried, though. She was afraid that Alfred would reveal her identity to everyone else. If that happened, it wouldn't be possible for her to retrieve the assets belonging to the Queen family. Alfred walked into the room while Trevor walked forward.
They exchanged dagger-like stares with each other as they locked eyes.
"Are you busy, Mr. Gulliford?" Alfred broke the silence.
Without waiting for Trevor to respond, he strode toward the couch and plopped down.NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
"Not really. But, I'm not as free as Mr. Whiteburn. You are so free that you can come to my house just like that." Trevor shook his head reflexively, noticing the gangster-like man in front of him.
To him, Alfred was not a man that could be his love rival. Trevor was just worried that Jessica would be grateful to him. After all, Alfred had been taking care of her all these years.
"Ahh! I didn't want to come, but I had no choice. My family instructed me to do so. I bet you know that Leah is my cousin. Old Mr. Gulliford has expressed his wish for you two to marry. I know both of you are a match made in heaven!" Alfred explained. He leaned against the couch while crossing his legs.
Initially, Alfred was a free-spirited person. He only changed his way of life when he met Jessica.
However, he was only willing to contain himself in front of Jessica. Alfred didn't care about looking good in front of other people.
With his hands in the pockets, Trevor sneered, "Mr. Whiteburn, don't tell me you are here to be a matchmaker?" "You are right. Old Mr. Gulliford had called me to talk about that. We need to set a date for the marriage to happen. The Whiteburn family sent me over to arrange a date for both families to meet each other," Alfred remarked as his eyes scanned the
ve
surroundings. He wastryingto find signs of Jessica's life in this place.
He had already heard about what had happened the day before. He knew Jessica was wounded and that she was currently recuperating in the Gulliford residence. Alfred wondered inwardly, "I'm worried about Jessica. I wonder if she is all right?"
"Mr. Whiteburn, I have a wife. I will never agree to marry Leah. In case you missed it, Jessica is mine, and she will always be mine," Trevor went on deliberately with a big smile.
"I can let things slide when Alfred
took Jessica away from me three years ago, However, if he dares to do anything wicked now, I will not hesitate when it comes to making him and the Whiteburn family pay fortheir deeds," Trevor concluded inwardly.
"Are you sure you are the one to make the decision? I'm pretty sure everyone in Horington knows about Old Mr. Gulliford's intention for you to marry Leah.
Soon, this will be the biggest news in the country. Do you dare to reject what Old Mr. Gulliford wants?" replied Alfred while he shook his legs.
He raged inwardly, "His wife, Jessica? Trevor Gulliford is so shameless! How dare he say Jessica was his wife when he did so many bad things to her in the past?"
Trevor smirked. "Well, you shouldn't worry about this. You need to worry that the Whiteburn family will be gone next month if you continue to be this arrogant in front of me."
"What's that supposed to mean, Trevor?!" Alfred thundered as he jumped up from the couch. The sparkles of anger in his eyes were evident.
"Exactly what it sounds like. You
know this. If want to, I don't even
need a month to make the
Whiteburn family disappear. That's why you should think it through before doing something rash
