Chapter 3174
Chapter 3174
Rhea naturally took Owen's place, pushing Duncan into his office.
Their secretaries silently followed after them.
“Mrs. Torres, I can do it myself. You don’t have to push me.” Duncan did not want Rhea pushing him along. He already said that the current wheelchair was electric and he could easily move it forward by himself. Rhea smiled. “I'm not using much strength either. It's mostly you moving yourself.”
She was wearing regular clothes instead of a suit today. The bun she usually donned was let loose for once. Ever since her husband passed, she put away her flashy accessories too, but today, she had taken them out and put them on. With her delicate makeup, she looked like a young woman in her early twenties.
It was hard to tell she was a mother in her thirties to a nine-year-old son.
When she left this morning, her son complimented her on how beautiful she looked today.
When her in-laws saw how she was dressed, they wanted to say something but stopped themselves.
Rhea knew what they were thinking. She listened to everything they said last night.
However, she had observed for a long time and found only Duncan a suitable match for her.
She could not openly get in between Duncan and Liberty, so she would keep it subtle and see how Duncan reacted.
If Duncan had even the slightest response, she would duke it out with Liberty fairly even if others scolded her for being the other woman.
If Duncan purely appreciated her as a business partner and client, then she would give up.
However, she would not consider remarrying anyone else after giving up on Duncan.Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
She would focus on managing her company, raising her child, and taking care of her in-laws. Once her son was old enough to take over, she could step down and travel the world with old friends.
If she felt the occasional restlessness, she could hire an escort.
She would not fall in love, date, or marry.
Rhea was telling the truth. Her hands were just placed on the handles and she did not need to put in any strength to push Duncan along.
When they got to his desk, Rhea let go.
Instinctively, she went to support Duncan when he tried to get up.
“There's no need to support me, Mrs. Torres. I can do it myself. I've been doing my rehabilitation exercises every day, and although I'm not completely recovered, I'm still very much capable of standing and taking two steps.” Duncan rejected Rhea’s help.
All Rhea could do was withdraw her hands, though she still looked at Duncan with concern.
Duncan slowly stood up and walked around his desk, propping himself on it, before sitting down in his black swivel chair.
Rhea only sat down once she saw Duncan seated.
Owen moved the wheelchair to the side of the desk for Duncan's ease of use later.
“Would you like coffee or water, Mrs. Torres?” Duncan asked politely.
Rhea replied, “I didn’t sleep well last night and I'm feeling a bit sleepy, so coffee to wake me up would be nice. I have to drink at least three cups a day to last until I get home at night.”
It was too tiring otherwise.
