Seduced by My Childhood Sweetheart’s Brother

Chapter 636

"Pick up the call, Colin. It's Professor King." I cruelly ruined the mood for Colin.

He glared at me resentfully, took a few deep breaths, and resigned to his fate. He took his phone, unlocked it grumpily, and greeted Professor King in a disgruntled tone.

"You sound angry and frustrated?" As expected of Professor King. He could discern emotions from the voice alone. Sitting on the couch, I covered my mouth and chuckled. Then, I gave Professor King's concise conclusion a thumbs-up.

Colin combed his fingers through his hair, suppressed his emotion, and replied, "I have a dinner party tonight. I'm getting changed now."

"Is Luna with you?" asked Professor King cryptically.

"Yes, we're attending the party together."

He made a long hum. "I must've called at a terrible time."

Colin blushed and cleared his throat unnaturally. Then, he shot back, "Behave, old man."

After the phone call, the intimate mood was gone. I looked at the time and realized we were less than an hour away from the party. Colin and I stood in front of the dresser to look at ourselves.

My lipstick was plastered all over his chest and his collar. His upper lip was particularly affected. Even the skin around it was tainted in a different hue.

The bun I tied was so out of shape, it could be seen as a bird's nest. My lipstick was smeared and my dress was disheveled. The fair skin on my chest was on public display. I'd be a laughing stock if I attended the dinner party in this state.

When I fixed everything, 20 minutes had passed by. If we did not depart now, we would be very late. Notifications kept popping up on Colin's phone. They were messages to ask him to hurry up, no doubt. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

When we arrived, everyone was

there. They greeted us with a smile and joked that since we came so late, we had to drink up as an apology. It was a decently large group 13 of us, nine men and four women. The food we ordered was quickly served, and everyone was eager to dig in.

Since Colin was the star of the party, he had to deliver a speech. He filled everyone's glasses and expressed his appreciation and gratitude for everyone's hard work. Everyone clinked their glasses and finished their drink.

Meanwhile, I sat on the side with my orange juice, enjoying the merriment of the occasion. As the stupor settled in, the night became livelier. Colin's subordinates began to take turns to give him one toast after another.

I could tell that the party was not just a celebratory dinner but also a party where they were trying to make Colin drunk. Perhaps Colin was very stern with them during the project. Making him drunk was their payback.

I found it amusing that Colin was receiving his comeuppance from his colleagues and students.

While he hardly drank, he could hold his drink very well. I had never seen him drunk before. Nevertheless, even someone with high alcohol tolerance would succumb when ten other people kept toasting to them.

Colin knew what his peers wanted,

and he indulged them. He never turned down any toasts. It was rude to turn them away. After two rounds, he became tipsy. His cheek flushed red, and his eyes turned glossy. He also began to slur.

A female teacher who had previously said a toast to him twice came with a third glass. She offered her congratulations and clinked glasses with him. Then, she gazed at Colin with a smile, waiting for him to finish his drink.
