Secrets Of The Neglected Wife

Chapter 814

Chapter 814:noveldrama

Fortunately, Allison was one step ahead — she had obtained a copy of Verruckt’s fingerprint during a seemingly innocent dinner invitation.

“Anything else I should know?” Allison queried, her eyes not leaving the screen.

“Check this out,” Amya said, switching to another camera angle.

The new feed displayed a bustling dock where a massive cruise ship was anchored.

“Where’s this footage from?” Allison asked, squinting at the images.

“Eastshade Port,” Amya responded, handing her a tablet marked with a highlighted circle. “This came from Gordon’s last transmission. This dock is under Immortality Group’s control.”

Allison studied the display, her brow furrowing. “Have Kellan and the others stuck around the dock, or did they board that ship?”

Though their time apart had been short, the distance felt immense, and she found herself yearning for Kellan’s reassuring presence.

“I can’t say I know all the ins and outs, but they’re definitely teaming up to track down the main test site of Immortality Pharmaceuticals. It’s more than just their glossy office front,” Amya answered.

Handing over the stack of papers to Allison, she added, “Lilian is off to the dock tomorrow, and Mr. Lloyd is already cooking up an ambush.”

Settling back, Allison tapped her chin thoughtfully. “The pieces are starting to fit together. Tonight’s banquet turned into a shootout, yet the lab and Immortality Group are still playing it cool. They’ve even penciled in a meeting for tomorrow, which is curious, to say the least.”

“The deal tomorrow, is it still a go?” Amya’s tone carried a mix of surprise and concern. Anyone with half a brain could see that after tonight’s clash, Verruckt’s research institute and Immortality Group were barely keeping the lid on a full-scale war.

“It will go ahead,” Allison confirmed with a nod. “As long as Verruckt is breathing, the deal’s on the table.” This nugget of information was one of many Allison had dug up. Today’s standoff was clear as day: both sides were on edge. They knew the other wanted them out of the picture, yet they kept up their poker faces. And despite an expected showdown tonight, they were still on for tomorrow’s meeting.

There had to be a vital piece of the puzzle keeping them in check. Allison’s gaze drifted toward the cruise ship, anticipating a new player to step onto the scene tomorrow. That should be why both sides were restrained. So, even with Verruckt and Josh at each other’s throats, if they made it through tomorrow, they would carry on.

“If tomorrow’s transaction rolls out as planned, we’re still on track to blow the lab sky-high,” Amya said, a hint of unease in her voice. “But I ran into a snag today.”

“What’s up?” Allison asked.
