Chapter 2597
Max could sense that Blackgoat was about to give in to the pressure and admit who was behind the attack.
Abruptly, he stood up and strode toward Blackgoat. He sneered, "No matter whether it's Valmora, Eurasia, or Ariarica, we are all countries that prioritize peace. Today, I came here with Chief Cross from Eurasia to talk to Valmora. Yet, you chose to stir trouble! I can't believe you still have the guts to remain silent when Adolf questioned you. If you still won't confess, do not blame us for being cruel."
Upon hearing that, Blackgoat looked up at Max with a dumbfounded expression.
He did not understand what Max was trying to say. Is he trying to warn me against divulging that Ariarica was the mastermind behind the attack?
As Blackgoat pondered over Max's response, Max continued, "Since you refuse to cooperate with us, you shall face my wrath."
As soon as he finished, he raised his arm at lightning speed.
Snap! Holding Blackgoat's neck in his right hand, he twisted it before anyone around him could stop him.
Plop!
Blackgoat's corpse collapsed to the ground.
Everyone around him had to take a while to process what just happened.
Staring at Max, Nathan's lips lifted into an amused smile.
On the other hand, Adolf looked distraught. Frustrated, he yelled, "Admiral Max, we wanted to interrogate him further to find the mastermind behind the attack. Why did you kill him?"
In response, Max calmly took out a white handkerchief to wipe off the fresh blood on his hands. While doing so, he caught a glimpse of Blackgoat's lifeless eyes staring back at him.
Throwing the white handkerchief aside, he bent down to close Blackgoat's eyes.
Then, he straightened and replied to Adolf with a grin, "Mr. Adolf, there is no need to thank me for it. Ariarica is a peace-loving country, and we detest such senseless attacks. Since this man refused to cooperate, I did you a favor by sending him to hell."
Hearing that, Adolfs frown only deepened. If Max had not been a Five-star General from Ariarica and the country's representative, Adolf would have taught him a lesson there and then.
At the same time, Adolf also realized that it could be Ariarica responsible for Blackgoat's attack.
He probably wants to drive a wedge between Eurasia and Valmoras relationship.
However, since Max had killed
Blackgoat, there was no witness to back his, theory. Although Adolf suspected that Ariarica directed the attack, he had no physical proof to pin the blame on Max.
At that moment, Nathan smiled. "Haha, Admiral Max must hate terrorists very much."
Max glanced at Nathan and snorted. "Of course. My country and I take justice seriously. We can't stand acts of menace and are saddened by how such incidents can happen."

Nathan replied, "Is that so? It's good to see that you have such strong opinions against terrorists. I happen to have some evidence on who was behind it. Admiral Max, since you took care of Blackgoat without hesitation, it shouldn't be a problem for you to deal with the mastermind behind the attack. Am I right?"
Instantly, Max felt his throat turn dry.
Adolf and the rest were surprised as well.
While staring at Nathan in disbelief, Max grumbled, "What are you saying? Are you telling me that you know who instructed Blackgoat and his men to attack the factory? Do you have proof? You can't make assumptions on such grave matters and have to take responsibility for your words."
Nathan nodded. "Yes, I do have evidence to back my words. I will never frame an innocent man, nor will I conceal the crime of an evil man." After he spoke, he clapped his hands.
On cue, Sage quickly walked to Nathan with a briefcase in his hand.
He proceeded to take out a document from the bag and politely passed it to Nathan.
Then, Nathan gave it to Adolf and stated, "Mr. Adolf, you should have a look at it before Admiral Max."
Without wasting any time, Adolf took the document and read through it.
There were many pictures in it.
It seemed like someone had secretly taken the photos. There were a few pictures with several people sitting around a long table in a dimly lit room, where Blackgoat was among them.
Max's vice general, Shearson, also sat at the head of the table.
At that sight, Adolf gasped, and he lifted his head to look at Shearson, who was standing beside Max. Shearson could not help but panic.
