Salute To The General

Chapter 2513

Zyon thought that Nathan would be scared to the extent of begging for mercy on his knees upon hearing the former's taunt.

However, Nathan's actions surprised him big time. He remained relaxed as ever when he got up from his seat slowly, took the cup from the coffee table, and had a sip. "What will befall me when I'm actually the Chief Military Governor?" Nathan asked indifferently. There was no trace of fear in his tone.

Zyon's jaw dropped in complete disbelief. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

This guy is ridiculous! How shameless can a person get?

He never imagined that Nathan would still insist that he was the Chief Military Governor of Eurasia. Is he out of his mind? Does he have a death wish?

Zyon guffawed as rage built up within him. "Fine, I'll grant you your wish if trouble is what you're asking for."

With that said, he strode forward to open the door to the private room, ready to tell on Nathan.

The moment he opened the door, a large number of generals entered the room, looking imposing. They were followed by a huge team of National Guards.

"Hi Commander, I've got a case to report."

Zyon went up and welcomed the troop.

The big shots were all high-ranking officers from the South Army. The person standing at the forefront was the commander-in-chief of the Southern Naval Base, Zach Hill.

Franklin and the others were behind him.

There was cyber warfare between the army and Volk, which ended with the latter suffering from severe losses.

Nathan was the one who personally led the troop into Volk and rescued Lucas. Apart from bringing the bodies of the fallen West Army back with him, he also dampened the arrogant attitude and spirits of the soldiers from Ariarica as well as other powerful countries.

Eurasia kept the details of the war under wraps instead of announcing it publicly in order to preserve the Volkians' reputation.

Yet, the news was widely circulated within the army.

Zach was very close to Nathan. Besides being his direct subordinate, he was also a good friend of Nathan.

As soon as he knew that the latter was back in Channing, he took the initiative to lead his men over to welcome Nathan and celebrate his success. Unbeknownst to him, the moment he entered the private dining room, an unfamiliar man walked up to him to lodge a complaint.

"Get out of the Commander's way, and don't waste his time. The Commander has got something more urgent to do," the captain of the

National Guards ordered while pushing Zyon aside.

He added, "Relay all of your grievances to the soldiers outside, and they will record it accordingly."

Zyon refused, "No, no, no, what I'm about to report is a very important matter. Someone is impersonating the commander, by commander I mean the Chief Military Governor..."

Suddenly, Zach stopped in his tracks when the position mentioned caught his attention. He gave Zach a onceover and queried, "You said someone is using the Chief Military Governor's name? Who is it?"

Seeing that his complaint had piqued Zach's interest, Zyon got all worked up.

He glanced at Nathan smugly. Then, he responded politely, "Admiral Hill, someone introduced himself as the Chief Military Governor. I've advised the concerned party not to spew any nonsense, but my effort was in vain. He's adamant to assume that position and will take responsibility for his words."

Zach was flabbergasted. Is he talking about Nathan?

Subsequently, Zyon pointed at Nathan, seemingly trying to clear the doubts that Zach had in his mind.

The former declared, "Sir, it's him.

He's the one who claimed that he's the Chief Military Governor. Quick, arrest him!"

Zach looked in the direction where Nathan was, only to see the latter staring back at him.

Seconds later, Zach led his men and rushed over to Nathan.

Excitement flashed across Zyon's eyes. Haha, that's it. It's game over for him. Soon, he will be taken away.

However, what happened next shocked Zyon so much that his eyes nearly came flying out of their sockets.

The infantry marched forward and stopped right before Nathan.

One of the officers held his head up high and shouted a command, "Attention! Salute!"

Clap!

Upon hearing the injunction, Zach, the team of generals, and all the soldiers present saluted Nathan synonymously.

As if that was not shocking enough,

the infantry and their commanders chanted in unison, "Good day, Chief Military Governor!" The exchange threw Zyon, Hank, Prudence, and the rest off guard, leaving each of them in sheer disbelief.

The Chief Military Governor!

Zyon shuddered at what he heard. The salutation was indeed a bolt from the blue for him.

Instantly, the twinkle in his eyes

disappeared and it was replaced with much regret. Various negative emotions overwhelmed and

devoured him at the same time. He felt terrified, disturbed, fearful

despondent, and remorseful.

The salutation kept playing in his mind like a broken record. He's the Chief Military Governor. He's the Chief Military Governor...
