Chapter 24

Evangeline’s seamless communication with the monkeys triggered astonished reactions from the livestream viewers. A person commented: [My goodness, what did I just witness? Evangeline effortlessly communicating with monkeys?]

Another voice chimed in with wonder: Unbelievable, it’s way beyond belief]

Appreciative comments flowed in, praising the remarkably smooth interaction [The communication is so smooth as if she was talking to humans!]

Someone made a point [You know, sometimes it’s harder to talk to humans. Some just lack common sense!]

A keen viewer pointed out: (Check out those monkeys! The admiration in their eyes for Evangeline is like worship. Look at how they’re viewing her as some God!]

Concern surfaced when a netizen noticed the injuries on the monkeys. A person wrote: [Man, these monkeys are so clever and adorable! What could have hurt them so bad!]

A fan proclaimed: [You’re incredible, Evangeline. You will always be my idol!]

Another asked with curiosity: I’m curious about today, during the daytime, when Evangeline disappeared from the camera. Where did she go? What happened?]

A viewer speculated (Judging by Meghan and Samson’s expressions. I think something must have happened between the three of them. It really makes you wonder!]

Since Evangeline returned to the livestream the viewer count did not just rise. It exploded, going from millions to tens of millions, hitting onc hundred million, eventually reaching an astounding two hundred million views worldwide.

Audiences from all over the world flooded into the live room.

Even overseas audiences who could not understand Chistan were astounded to see Evangeline communicating with the monkeys.

The hashtag [#EvangelineCommunicatingWithAnimals] sparked intense discussions globally, with teams specializing in animal language hoping to establish contact with her.

This day marked the sixth day of the survival program

Evangeline woke up to find a spread of fruits neatly placed before her like gifts.

Evangeline got up and began her morning routine. She did a set of exercises and chewed a few leaves to clean her mouth before savoring the sweetness of bananas, persimmons, grapes, and an assortment of other fruits she could not name

Each bite, saccharine and tart, was delectable

Feeling full from the fruits, Evangeline went to check on the wounded monkeys,

She instructed the monkey king to gather herbs. When they returned, Evangeline guided them in crushing the herbs and applying them to their

wounds.

Refraining from joining in to help, Evangeline only observed as the monkeys prepared their own medicines, making sure the correct herbs were

used.

Once the monkeys had completed the task, she did not hold back from praising them. “You guys are so smart. You learn rather quickly. Remember this. I won’t always be here, and you will have to rely on yourself in the future!”

Evangeline had made up her mind. After the seventh day of filming, she would embark alone to find her way out.

She had signed a seven–day recording agreement and was committed to seeing through the entire sevenday recording deal, even when the production team had lost touch with her. The contract clearly outlined a seven–day duration, and Evangeline was determined to stick to it. This way, if the production team tried to blame her for disappearing, she could confidently state that she had followed the agreement. It was their responsibility since they lost track of her during the shoot.

On the sixth day, she contemplated extending her stay by one more day and leaving the day after tomorrow.

Gathering her thoughts, Evangeline turned her attention to the monkey king. “Kingka, who were those that attacked you yesterday! Take me to them

The monkeys responded with chattering.

Evangeline said, “Stop talking. Just lead the way.”

Understanding them seemed futile. Spending time attempting to decipher their words would only be a waste of time.

“Leave the injured ones behind and get the other monkeys to stay and protect the injured monkeys Take the ones skilled in combat with us so that we can fight any creatures attacking us. The rest, follow me,” Evangeline instructed.

After Evangeline finished speaking, the monkey king quickly marshaled the troop. Promptly, the monkeys separated into two groups.

Some monkeys were not able to join Evangeline. They insisted on following but were quickly dismissed by the monkey king-

With that, Evangeline set out with a group of over ten monkeys.

One comment pleaded: [Evangeline, don’t come back. Stay as the Monkey Queen! It seems that they’ve centered their world around you. What would become of them if you leave!]

Another cheered: (Haha. I support Evangeline becoming the monkey king. Watching her and the monkeys is way more fun than seeing her with Meghan and the rest.)

A netizen grumbled: [Stop bringing up Meghan and the others. Just thinking about them raises my blood pressure.]

Observations arose about the monkeys intelligence, too. Someone remarked: [Those wild monkeys are so smart Evangeline taught them once, and they remembered the herbs, even applying them correctly. Give them some time, and they’d probably evolve into humans!] Concern crept in amidst the chatter. One lamented: (I worry people might poach these clever monkeys for performances if this show airs) Another declared: [The authorities need to strengthen protection over these creatures. These little monkeys should never fall into bad hands!) One excited fan speculated: [Ooh, is Evangeline going to get revenge for the injured monkeys! I can’t wait!]

However, a dissenting voice argued: [Hurmans shouldn’t interfere in natural animal competition, even if they’ve bonded with some. Evangeline disrupts ecological balance by disciplining predators just because she befriended the monkeys.]

Someone retorted: [Humans have long affected wild animals lives. Their habitats are completely our demarcated domains now. It’s too late for non–interference talk.

Evangeline remained oblivious to the ongoing online discussions about her, including the netizens‘ speculations regarding her potential quest for revenge on behalf of the monkey king.

These discussions extended beyond the live room, spreading to other platforms.

The hashtag 14Should HumanHelpWildAnimals] became a trending topic on Twitter

The topic sparked polarizing opinions. Some argued for human intervention in wildlife matters, while others advocated for leaving wild animals undisturbed

In the midst of this, Evangeline continued her journey, completely ignorant of the ongoing discussions.

Even if she were to stumble upon these discussions later, it would not sway her. She was determined to do what she desired only.

As they walked for about half an hour, the monkeys eventually came to a stop at the edge of the forest, approximately two miles away from their usual habitat. The environment here, however, was far inferior to the monkeys‘ domain.

Stopping to observe for a while, Evangeline noticed an animal emerging from the tree hollow, peering in their direction.

Upon closer inspection, Evangeline recognized the animal, an unmistakable yellow–throated marten.

Monkeys were part of the yellow–throated martens‘ diet

Despite being smaller in size than adult monkeys, weighing about four to six pounds, yellow–throated martens were swift, powerful, and adept climbers. Hunting, to these creatures, was an easy task.

Besides hunting monkeys, these yellow–throated martens could even kill young wild boars.

Yellow–throated martens, known for their communal nature, would unite in a collective attack if an individual found itself unable to handle a situation alone.

Despite the monkeys sharing a similar social trait, they were outmatched by the yellow–throated marten’s strength.

The monkey king bared its teeth and snarled fiercely at the marten while the other monkeys echoed its boldness,

However, for all their front, they were all fearfully cowering behind Evangeline.

In this intense moment, more yellow–throated martens emerged from the other tree hollows where they had been resting

The creatures eyed Evangeline’s group warily.

Despite their potential danger, Evangeline found them rather adorable. In terms of appearance, the yellow–throated martens seemed superior to the monkeys, who appeared comparatively feeble against the strength of the martens.

Evangeline, regaining her composure, glared at the yellow–throated martens with a cold gaze

Undaunted, the martens, standing arrogantly, refused to flee. Instead, they shifted their tactics. Before Evangeline and the monkeys could comprehend, they found themselves encircled by the martens.

It was a group tactic that the yellow–throated martens commonly used

If one marien in the pack could not take on its enemy on its own, the rest of the group would jump in collectively.

Their confidence was bolstered by yesterday’s triumph when they attacked the monkeys, claiming some for a feast.

Despite the presence of a peculiar upright monkey among the primates today, the martens harbored no fear and had no intention of fleeing. On the contrary, their plan was to encircle them and launch an attack at the first opportunity.

The monkeys, feeling threatened, intensified their calls, attempting to use sound waves to scare away the yellow–throated martens.

Evangeline roughly counted the herd of yellow–throated marten and realized that there were over 60 of them.

The sheer number surprised her. While she had always known yellow–throated martens to be social animals, she didn’t expect there to be so many

of them

Nevertheless, Evangeline paid little heed to the size of their group.

The yellow–throated marten was ready to initiate its attack.

Though fearful, the monkeys were ready to confront them.

Just as the yellow–throated marten who led the attack rushed out, Evangeline quickly trotted forward.

Though renowned for their agility, the yellow–throated marten was no match for Evangeline’s speed.

In one swift motion, Evangeline grabbed the back of its neck, then quickly pulled off a vine and tied it up, incapacitating the marten

While the yellow–throated munten wrangled forcefully, Evangeline left it in a daze with her forceful slap. As it regained its composure, the yellow- throated manten discovered itself bound, helpless, and seething with fury.

The entire sequence unfolded in a matter of seconds, barely reaching the count of ten.

Right after, Evangeline quickly moved on to catch the other yellow throated mariens, defeating each of them with a single slap.

She skillfully knocked out three or four martens at a time and tied them together with a vine

In a span of ten minutes, Evangeline managed to capture the entire pack and tie them up.

The first capture was remarkably swift, causing the other martens to scatter in fear. It took ten minutes for Evangeline to round them up.

As the monkeys watched the yellow–throated martens, now bound on the ground, memories of the ruthless attack they had faced flashed before

them. While fearful of the scene before them, a profound admiration for Evangeline took root among the primates.

The monkeys marveled at her fighting skills, believing that having Evangeline as their leader was the best decision they could have made.

Standing before the yellow–throated martens, Evangeline eyed them coldly as she delivered a stern warning “Listen up, these monkeys are under my protection now. Consider this your only warning. If you dare hunt them again, I’ll break your necks. Understand?”

The yellow–throated martens collectively shuddered in response to her warning.

Evangeline continued, “And you know what? I’ve got an idea for you. You should move, Head east as you walk. Along the foot of this mountain. About six miles away, there’s this cliff, and underneath it, there’s a sweet forest. The shore area is bigger, lots of food there. There are so many of you. It’s way better to live in a biggerspor

This jungle was too cramped for this many predators.

The animals in the jungle were scarce, and if the predators kept hunting them, it would not be long before they were all wiped out.

Evangeline did not concern herself with whether the yellow throated martens comprehended her words. After cautioning them, she untied and releases them one by one, each liberation accompanied by a firm slap.

Once freed, the yellow–throated martens fled into the forest and vanished from their sight.

Seeing that, the monkeys kept calling out to Evangeline, seemingly reluctant for her to release the yellow–throated martens.

Undeterred. Evangeline said in a low voice. This is your conflict to resolve. My interference has already crossed a line. If I were to kill them. I’d end ugi in jail”

While no one would know about this as long as she did not reve

anything, she did not want to intervene in the dynamics among wild animals.

Seeing her stem expression, the monkeys ceased their protests, though it was uncertain if they fully grasped her words.

Online, a viewer cheered: Incredible! She caught a yellow–throated marten in seconds and tied it up. Her speed is unreal! I couldn’t move that fast when tying up a dead animal.]

Another marveled: Someone tell me what Evangeline went through to gain such skills.]

Aviewer speculated: Was she some special agent? Her combat abilities are admirable yet frightening. I got goosebumps watching her fight.]

One exclaimed: [She’s too cool. I’m shocked speechless!]

A challenger declared: [Evangeline’s amazing, all right. I bet she could make me cry seven times in three minutes.]

A retort followed: [You overestimate yourself. Evangeline could make you bawl seventy times in three minutes.]

One asked worriedly: [She just warned those yellow–throated martens with words. Are they actually scared? What if they hold grudges and go after the monkeys later?]

Another scoffed skeptically: Hilarious, reasoning with wild animals and warning them? Only a fool would think the animals understood her words! Monkeys are primates, so they happened to understand, but does she think she has some supernatural ability to communicate across species?]

Despite mockery and doubts over Evangeline’s communication, the narrative continued onward.
