The monkeys keenly sensed the presence of others, and the creatures turned their collective gaze toward Samson and Meghan.

The other monkeys had even offered Evangeline bananas, placing the bunch of fruit in front of her.

When she had finished eating, she stood up and was set for a stroll.

This time, Evangeline did not go up the hill. Instead, she walked along the foothill, thinking she would explore the other places.

The monkeys wanted to follow her, but Evangeline said. “Don’t follow me. Go play on your own. I’ll walk alone.”

The next second, the monkey king signaled its troop of monkeys to return to the mountain.

Meghan and Samson quietly followed Evangeline from a distance.

It was just wild fruit, but it served its purpose of satiating their hunger.

Samson looked at her as if he was looking at a stranger. “You did it intentionally? She’s my sister! How could you kill her? Even if she’s not my biological sister, she’s still a human being. How could you take a life?”

Meghan’s face gleamed sinisterly as she justified her actions, saying. “You’ve seen what she did to us these days! She was always hitting us. She did nothing when you had a fever. She even took you to the water and hit yout She left you to die in the water!“”

She continued. “She is one vicious woman. She’s better off dead! Why are you so upset? I killed her to avenge you!“.

No matter how good I am to you, I can never be better than your sister in your eyes!” Meghan bellowed. “If you think pushing her off the cliff was wrong, why don’t you push me off too! Regaining his composure, Samson spoke firmly. “It’s good that you’re looking out for us, but let’s not resort to this again. Killing is against the law. Even if Evangeline was plotting against us, we could’ve found another way.”

Don’t tell anyone, not even our parents or Eddie and Jasper, okay?” Even with all that had happened, Evangeline was the biological daughter of their parents. Meglun knew that if they ever found out she played a role in Evangeline’s death, it would undoubtedly create a serious issue for her.

The rest of the Gallagher family were not as gullible and easily fooled as Samson.

Samson hesitated briefly before nodding. “Okay, I promise. You were only doing this for me and to protect the family, I will not let anyone know about this, and I won’t let you take all the blame.”

Meghan wanted to avenge him and protect their family. She was the one who had saved his life.
