Richest Mogul 1197

Chapter 1197

Even if Caleb had other plans, he would have canceled them. This was his first time getting to eat a meal personally cooked by Skylar, and he couldn’t miss this chance. He was beyond

excited.

“Alright, I’ll get started then. If you’re bored, you can watch TV or something,” Skylar said as she headed upstairs. She needed to change out of the gown.

Lunch consisted of four dishes and a soup, all simple home–cooked meals that were ready in

less than an hour.

Caleb enjoyed it so much that he finished everything.

“If only I could eat your cooking every day!” Caleb sighed as he leaned back on the couch, feeling quite full. He was determined to win Skylar over, no matter who stood in his way.

Skylar still treated Caleb like a kid, and she said smilingly, “When I’m here and if I’m home, I’ll cook for myself. You can come over if you want.”

Caleb nodded eagerly, taking her words seriously, even though he knew she was just being polite.

He didn’t have the chance before, but now that he did, he was going to seize it with everything he had. He wanted everyone to know that Skylar was his crush.

Aiken was holding a few photos in his hand. They showed a man and a woman entering and exiting a high–end mall, and their faces were captured clearly.

The man’s face was familiar, but the woman’s was entirely new to him. Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.

Just from the photos, the man looked exactly like Joe. Even if Gloria had seen the photo, she wouldn’t have been able to spot any differences. No wonder Skylar thought this man was Joe

when she saw him.

However, it was a pity. That man wasn’t Joe. His name was Ned Sowle, a Muridian, and he was engaged to the woman in the photo.

The two had just arrived in Jipsburg a few days ago, intending to start a company and discuss a collaboration. They were also planning to get married soon.

Aiken frowned as he studied the photos, staring intently at Ned. It was incredible how much he resembled Joe.

He tapped the photos lightly with his fingers, hesitating. How should he tell Skylar about Ned’s identity? Would this hurt her again?

He could disregard others‘ feelings, but he had to care about whether Skylar would be hurt.

“Mr. Parkinson, are you attending the charity gala tonight?” A voice came through after three knocks on the door.

Aiken’s eyes remained on the photos as he asked in a deep voice, “Are we sure that Hawking Technologies‘ Mr. Sowle will be attending?

“Yes, Mr. Parkinson. It’s confirmed.”

“Alright, make the preparations then.”

At 4:00 pm, Skylar and Caleb arrived on time at the venue of the charity gala.

The turnout was larger than she had expected. Most of the attendees were strangers to her, but many people recognized Caleb. She paid little attention to the curious gazes swept over her. Just then, someone called out to her. “Skylar? Skylar! It’s really you!” She turned toward the voice and saw Minerva walking quickly toward her.

After over three years apart, Minerva looked even more radiant and confident than before. Her movements excluded a sense of ease and poise.

Minerva?”

“I just got back yesterday. I heard you had returned too, but I’ve been busy and couldn’t reach out. I didn’t expect to see you here today!” Minerva was delighted to see Skylar.

For Minerva, this kind of event was incredibly dull. She hadn’t attended such gatherings in over three years, and she felt a bit out of place. But seeing Skylar made her feel like coming today was worth it.
