Chapter 1297
"Bang-!"
Before Angelo could even process what was happening, he found himself shoved into the room and pinned against the door by Odie.
Angelo nervously gulped.
What the heck is going on? I'm not into guys!
"Mr. Odie... what exactly do you want to say? Being this close... it's kind of inappropriate..."
Trying to force a smile, Angelo attempted to duck under Odie's arm. But Odie swiftly blocked him again, locking the door with a smooth motion. Angelo's heart raced.Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.
No way! Is Odie actually gay? What's he planning to do next? He wouldn't dare touch me, right? No way!
"Mr. Odie! Odie! What are you trying to do? I'm warning you, I'm straight, so back off!"
Odie frowned. "What are you talking about?"
"You... you didn't call me here in private to...?"
Seeing Angelo's reaction, Odie quickly caught on to what Angelo was thinking. His face darkened, and he gave Angelo a light slap on the head. "I must be losing my mind to be interested in a guy like you!" "Then just say it! Why all the sneaky moves? And why'd you hit me?"
Angelo fumed. He had thought Odie was interested in him, and it freaked him out!
"Let's cut to the chase. You're not Kiran."
Odie's bluntness gave Angelo a burst of courage. "What are you talking about? If I'm not Kiran, then who am I? We've faced off before; don't you remember what I look like?"
"Even if I don't know your game, you and James are definitely hiding something."
Angelo's face showed a flash of guilt. "Nonsense! What does this have to do with James? Odie, don't forget you were the bad guy before. I know you're trying to frame me, but I'm not falling for it!" Angelo continued, "And it's not just me. Sophie and the others won't fall for it either!"
"Sophie might be gullible enough to trust you, but I'm not."
Odie stepped closer. "How could Ricardo still be alive and end up with the Pollard family? And James, how did you appear in Devonport, sticking close to Sophie, if not for James? James worked with me before for Sophie's sake, so how could he betray her and side with those who want her dead?"
"Because he's heartless, that's why!" Angelo avoided Odie's eyes, edging slowly toward the door. "James was a hopeless romantic before. Maybe he got over it..."
Before Angelo could finish, Odie
blocked the door. "I've been watching you for days. Every time Sophie shows up, you've got your eyes glued to her, even watching what she eats. Don't you think that's a bit suspicious?"
Odie's words made Angelo break out in a cold sweat.
He knew I was watching Sophie? How did he notice so fast? Was I that obvious? "How do you know I was watching Sophie? Were you watching her too?"
That question threw Odie off balance. Seeing Odie's flustered expression, Angelo felt like he'd found Odie's weak spot. Pointing him, he accused, "Oh! So you've been watching Sophie all along! You're up to no good! Admit it, are you an undercover agent sent by the enemy?!"
