Revenge is Best Served… After Reborn

Chapter 1215

Sophie shot a quick glance at the inventory list in Colt's hand before turning to Adler. "Got a hammer in the trunk?" she asked. "Yeah, but why?"

Satisfied with the answer, Sophie walked over to Adler's trunk and grabbed the hammer.

Colt's eyebrows knitted together as Sophie, without any hesitation, began smashing the windows of Burke International right in front of him.

Seven hard whacks later, the front door of Burke International looked like it was welcoming the sky in.

Adler gasped. "How much is this gonna cost?"

It seemed to vent Sophie's anger. She casually tossed the hammer aside, pulled a check from her wallet, scribbled an amount, and handed it to Colt. "Refund any extra, and make sure to give me back the surplus," she said. Then she turned to Adler, "Get in the car."

Adler gulped. This woman was downright terrifying when pissed off!

Colt's smile vanished.

Sophie and Adler sped off towards the hospital. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

By the time they reached the ward, Colby was already inside.

The anesthesia had worn off Odie, and his face was ghostly pale from the severe injuries. Yet, Sophie was surprised to see that Odie was in such high spirits. He'd taken a bullet to the chest and was already awake. "Did you handle everything?" Colby asked.

"James is re-elected as CEO of Burke International. By the time I arrived, their shareholder meeting was over," Sophie replied.

Sitting down on a nearby couch, she listened as Adler added, "But it wasn't a total loss. Sophie smashed the front door of Burke International. For the next few days, they'll have a skylight they didn't ask for. James's first task as re-elected be corporate affairs; it'll be fixing their front door."

Colby reached out to check Sophie's hand and saw it was red, evidence of how hard she had swung the hammer.

"Next time, let Adler handle that. He's got the muscle for it," Colby suggested.

"I feel better doing it myself," Sophie retorted.

Sophie was clearly in a foul mood. From his hospital bed, Odie said coldly, "If it were me, I'd have blown the place up!"

Adler jumped in, "Oh, please, Mr.

Odie, stop with the big talk. Blown it up? You should be glad they didn't finish you off with that bullet! Be thankful your heart's on the right side out of ten thousand people, you're the one lucky guy who gets a second chance, and youtill talking tough!"

"You!" Odie threw off the covers, ready to get out of bed. Adler

immediately ducked behind Colby stammering, "You! You got shot, didn't you? How can you still stand after being shot? You must be kidding!"

"I've faced more bullets than you've had hot dinners!" Odie growled, his face dark. "Today, I'm gonna find the bastard who took a shot at me!"

"Sit down!" Sophie snapped, frowning. "Do you really want to make things worse?"

At Sophie's command, Odie seemed to deflate instantly.

"Did James admit he was behind it?" Colby asked.

"No," Sophie said. "But it's exactly because he didn't admit it that I suspect he's behind it."

"Exactly! Who admits to doing something shady?" Adler paused, then looked at Odie. "Ah, of course, except Mr. Odie here. If he does something wrong, he almost wants the world to know!"
