Chapter 1110
In the middle of a tender moment between Sophie and Colby, the peaceful night was suddenly shattered by the sound of hurried footsteps on the stairs outside. Sophie frowned. "What on earth is Odie up to now, in the middle of the night?"
She gently pushed Colby back onto the bed. "Try to get some sleep. I'll go check it out."
"Okay," Colby replied, holding Sophie's hand for a moment. "Come back soon."
"I will."
Sophie went to the door to see what was happening outside.
She saw Odie's men entering the house one by one, each carrying stacks of documents.
Sophie figured these must be the people Odie had sent out to gather information on the Summerfield businesses, now returning with their reports.
What she hadn't anticipated was just how many businesses there were in Summerfield...
Dozens of people were hustling up and down the stairs, delivering documents. One of the security guards rushed up, announcing, "Boss! We caught the person who tampered with the car!" Hearing this, Odie immediately stepped out of his room, his voice icy. "Bring them to me!"
"They're right outside!"
Sophie couldn't help but admire Odie's efficiency, but she was soon puzzled by the appearance of the captured individual.
The person was dressed in a plain black hoodie, looking no older than seventeen or eighteen, with a face still full of youthful innocence.
Sophie frowned. "Did you tamper with the car?"NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
The young person looked up at Sophie, then quickly looked down again, nodding hesitantly. "Yes, it was me..."
"Who put you up to this?"
"I did it on my own. Nobody told me to. I got the wrong car. I'm sorry..."
The youth's head was bowed low, his voice barely above a whisper, clearly aware of his mistake.
"Lift your head!" Odie demanded, his tone cold. "Do I need to make you?"
Frightened, the youth raised his head, his face turning pale with fear.
"You look pretty sharp for a young guy. Your family must be well-off, right?"
Sophie stepped forward, tugging at the black hoodle the youth was wearing. "This is designer wear. It would sell for about seven or eight hundred dollars in Summerfield. The shoes, maybe five or six hundred dollars, not bad. The smartwatch on your wrist is around two thousand dollars, and those earrings are definitely in the six-figure range."
The youth's hair was cropped short, and he was dressed in trendy fashion, with broader shoulders than his peers, and quite handsome. Feeling the warmth of Sophie's fingers, his cheeks reddened.
"Is he a rich kid from Summerfield, Mr. Odie? Do you know him?" Sophie asked.
"If I had to remember everyone, I'd need a terabyte of memory," Odie replied dryly.
"Fair enough."
Sophie turned to Jonah. "Jonah, do you know him?"
Jonah responded, "I have a vague memory from organizing the files today. This young man should be the heir of the Spellman family."
Sophie nodded, then squatted down to make the young man meet her gaze. "Your last name is Tang, right?"
"...My name is Timothy."
"Who cares what your name is!" Odie
interjected, frowning. "I'm asking you, who put you up to harming Sophie? Who's behind this? If you don't talk, I'll have someone break your leg!"
"Come on, he's just a kid. Let's not get so gruesome," Sophie interjected, trying to defuse the situation.
