Chapter 93

Feeling the person beside her, Mayra woke up in a daze. As she looked at. the white ceiling above her, she could tell that this clearly wasn’t her room.

She turned around and saw Anderson still sleeping soundly. Mayra didn’t mind. She just pulled up the kicked– off blanket and closed her eyes again, ready to sleep a bit more.

After two hours, she heard some noises.

Standing by the bed, Anderson buttoned up his black shirt and put on his expensive watch. “Let her sleep a bit longer. Did you inform the school?” Julia n

“I’ll go to work now. Keep an eye on her. Don’t let her run around again.”

Mayra slept until 3:00 pm. Her hair was messy, and she was wearing pajamas without a bra underneath.

Anderson must have changed the clothes for her. Mayra didn’t mind as she was already used to being treated this way.

She had been living with Anderson for many years. When she was 13, when she knew what love was, she began to develop feelings toward Anderson.

Mayra had always stuck close to Anderson. Their relationship was

intimate, far beyond that of siblings, as they had done things that siblings. shouldn’t do.

Rather than siblings, they seemed more like a pair of “lovers” who had never crossed the line.

But all of this was just her beautiful imagination. Anderson would eventually marry Isabel.

What did she have to compare herself to Isabel? She was just an orphan, while Isabel was the heiress of a wealthy family showered with love. They wer

Was she destined to stay by Anderson’s side and watch him marry Isabel?

Mayra’s complexion hadn’t fully recovered yet. Looking down, she saw her scratched feet wrapped in gauze. They were still aching.

Just then, she heard voices from outside the room. “Thanks for coming, Ms. Fisher, but Ms. Sadler is still resting in her room. Mr. Anderson said not to di

Isabel looked at the closed door of the room. “It’s okay. If Mayra hasn’t woken up, I’ll come back another time.”

“Alright, Ms. Fisher. Let me see you out.”

As Isabel left and got into the car, she looked up at the second– floor window of the Barlow mansion. The curtains had been drawn open, and she saw someone moving around in Anderson’s master bedroom. Isabel. felt her heart skip a beat.

Wasn’t she supposed to be resting in her room? Why was she in

Anderson’s room? Had she been there all night?

The driver noticed Isabel’s strange expression and asked with concern, What’s wrong, Ms. Isabel?”

Isabel struggled to talk, as if she had recalled something. “N–Nothing. Let’s go back.”

On the second floor, Mayra slowly emerged from behind the curtains, watching the car depart downstairs with an expressionless face.

Just as Isabel left, a luxurious limited–edition Maybach pulled into the yard.
