Chapter 57

It was a Friday, so the traffic was slightly congested. It was already 6:30 pm when they arrived at the Barlow mansion.

Dinner was served upon their return. “Mr. Anderson, Ms. Mayra, dinner is ready.

Due to her motion sickness and unpleasant mood, Mayra hardly said anything since returning. One of the maids brought her a pair of pink slippers at the entrance.

“Ms. Mayra, do you need to change into slippers?”

“Thanks, but I’ll do it myself.”

“Alright. The maid took her bag.

Mayra noticed that all the maids bustling about in the kitchen looked unfamiliar. They were different from the ones she saw when she first came here.

“What are you looking at? Wash your hands before you eat.”

She strode over to him. “Andy, have you changed the staff at your home? Why are these maids different from the ones I saw last time?”

Anderson squeezed some hand soap on her hands and held them under the tap, washing them. “They made a minor mistake.

“This is your home as well, Mayra.”

A maid stood beside them with a towel. He took it. “Your hands.”

Mayra extended her hands, and he dried them meticulously with the towel.” Let’s have dinner now.”

She sat at her spot, obediently waiting for Anderson to take his seat and eat. She had no idea since when she was bothered about the criticisms directed didn’t want them to say she was impolite, after all.

No one taught her proper manners, thus her lack of courtesy. She was just an orphan. She had no one to educate her except Anderson. He had taught h

Anderson settled on the head of the table. He picked a shrimp and peeled it, dipping it in sauce before drawing it near her lips. “Open your mouth.” Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.

Mayra ate the shrimp, reveling in how good it was compared to takeout.

“What did you do this week? Tell me.”

It seemed like Anderson really enjoyed feeding her. It wasn’t when she almost cleared the entire plate of shrimp did she realize he had hardly eaten any.

As Mayra savored the seafood stew, she was suddenly reminded of the fish chowder Gordon made for her on her birthday.

“Andy, my stomach’s about to burst from all that feeding.”

“There. This is the last one.”

Mayra only had the chance to feast like a king twice a week.

“Some new movies have been released lately. Let’s go upstairs and pick one to watch. Which one are you interested in?”

The third floor of the mansion was an entertainment area equipped with a

ex avm, and almost any other entertainment facilities that were

multiplex, available out there.

Mayra wasn’t really interested. She had watched most of the movies in her previous life, and rewatching them was going to bore her.

Playing with her food absentmindedly, she mumbled, “I don’t feel like watching a movie. I wanna finish my homework after dinner.”

“Sure. Come to my study later. I’ll help you out with it.”

“Alright.” Mayra nodded.

Though Anderson hadn’t attended school himself since he had to provide for her, he was ..

very knowledgeable. He was brilliant!

Mayra went to his study with her bag after dinner.

Anderson intended to go to his room to retrieve some documents before entering his study. Just then, a maid went upstairs with a phone.

“Mr. Anderson, this appears to be Ms. Mayra’s phone. A Mr. Thorp called earlier.”

He took the phone. “Alright. Prepare some supper for tonight.”

“Noted, Mr. Anderson.”
