If it were not for Gloria, Jordy would have long disappeared, as per his usual practice, without ever having the chance to face him.

The party was hosted by an old friend of Harvie’s who had personally extended the invitation, but Harvie had missed seeing him due to Gloria’s presence.

Gloria first checked the man’s eyes and then administered acupuncture treatment. The man coughed twice and then slowly regained consciousness.

“Just a little,” Gloria replied nonchalantly.

She grabbed the man’s hand and placed her index and middle fingers on his wrist to take his pulse.

Compared to the man’s surprised expression, Gloria remained calm. She did not feel any pride in her knowledge of traditional medicine.

Her father’s death, caused by Claude and his wife, still weighed heavily on her conscience and she felt guilty that she was unable to help him.
