Chapter 101
For a few seconds, he just stared at me without saying anything. He turned pale too and I wondered why my question affected him that much.
"If you want to commit suicide, do so where I can't see you. I'm not interested in having your blood in my hands," He snorted and turned to leave. "Suicide? You were the one who made me fall. I was just sitting on the railing and you calling my name made me slip. My life is horrible, but I'm still willing to live it. I am definitely not interested in dying anytime soon," I said.
He turned back to look at me, glared at me and walked away without saying anything to me.All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
I, on the other hand, wondered where I had gotten the courage to talk to him the way I did. I wondered if it was because he was my mate before he rejected me. I expected him to punish me for the way I talked to him and I was grateful he did not. I did not blame myself for talking to him the way I did though. He was an Alpha and all, but that did not mean he should never be nice.
He had done enough by rejecting me and causing me pain. The last thing I needed was more trouble from him.
Grateful for the chance to live again, I walked back to my room. I had two roommates, but both of them had sneaked out of the mansion to go clubbing, so I was the only one left in the room. It was another thing I was grateful for. I could cry in peace now.
I climbed my bed and began to cry into my pillow. The scenario of Alpha Atlas rejecting me played again. I wondered if he would have rejected me if I was as beautiful as the stars and of noble birth.
What was the moon goddess thinking? Was she trying to mock me? I was a nobody, so why on earth will she pair me with the Alpha knowing fully well that he would reject me?
My face was covered in snot and tears, so I got out of the bed to look around for tissues. Then I remembered that I had tissues in my bag, but I had left my bag downstairs. I had money in that bag too. And, the money in there was meant to last me for the month. Panicking, I jumped out of my bed, then out of the room and took the elevator downstairs to where I had kept my bag. Luckily for me, I was able to find my bag.
I heard footsteps and without thinking much, I decided to hide from whoever was coming.
"Are you sure you heard someone?" The voice was a male's voice.
I took a peek at who was talking and I saw two wolves. One of them was burly and the other was averagely built.
The one who had spoken was the burly one.
"I thought I heard someone," The averagely built wolf said. "Let's just continue our discussion. What does the master want me to do?"
"Are you sure this is the right place to talk about this? If anything goes wrong, you will be done for." The burly man said and my interest peaked. These wolves seemed shady. "Everyone is asleep now. Tell me all you want to tell me."
"Master wants the Alpha dead."
I quickly closed my mouth to stop myself from gasping. They wanted the Alpha dead? Who on earth were these people and what even gave them the audacity to plan this. Sat, Nov 2
Killing an Alpha was extremely hard, especially when one is not an Alpha. And, treason in this pack was a grave crime.
"You want the Alpha dead?" The voice of the average built wolf quivered. "That is scary."
"Scary? Now that's not the attitude to have when you're about to kill the Alpha."
I peed my pants immediately I heard the burly wolf's words. They were serious about killing the Alpha.
'We have to inform the Alpha, Seraph, my wolf, said weakly. I clenched my fists. Our wolf bond was supposed to disappear completely after Alpha Atlas rejected me. Why was Seraph still concerned about him? "I don't think I can kill time Alpha. If I get caught, then I am done for."
"Then don't get caught," The burly wolf said casually and I gulped. Was he a member of this pack? Did he not know who Alpha Atlas was?
"That is almost impossible. I can't do this. I don't want to die soon."
"If you don't, then you're definitely dying. I'll kill you for wasting my time and for refusing to do what I ask you to do. So, you have two choices. Refuse to kill the Alpha and die or try to kill the Alpha and get a chance at living." "How do you want me to kill the Alpha?"
"It's simple. You're the cook. Every single food the Alpha takes in is from you. You'll poison his food. And, I am not talking about wolfsbane. You would use a slow poison. Something that won't show any effects until after some months. The Alpha will fall sick first, but no physician will figure out what is wrong with him until he finally dies. Deal?"
The
average built wolf took a deep breath and nodded. "Deal."
'Go to Alpha Atlas now. Save him,' Seraph said faintly.
I really hoped she was saying so because he was our Alpha and not because there was still a bond between the Alpha and I.
Of course, I planned on doing what she wanted me to do. He rejected me and that was more than enough to hold a grudge against him, but he was still a good Alpha to his pack members and despite not being a pack member by birth, I have benefited a lot from his reign. When the wolves were gone and the coast was clear, I began to head toward his room, but before I got there, two wolves walked up to me and stood in front of me.
It was the burly wolf and the averagely built wolf. The same wolves that were planning the death of the Alpha.
"Where do you think you're going to?" The burly man asked and he brought out a silver coated pocket knife.
