Chapter 857 Hiding out for a Night
Chapter 857 Hiding out for a Night
Finn's decisive answer made it seem like Florrie had lost her last draw. She sat down paralyzed on the
floor and didn't stop Finn leaving.
Finn then bypassed her and headed back the way he came.
But when he was about to walk out the door, Sheppard stopped him again.
Unlike Florrie, he did not beg Finn, but only asked, "What do you want so that you will help us?"
Finn looked at him with a cold face and said indifferently, "We had such an unfriendly encounter. Why
do you think I should help you?"
"I see." With that, Sheppard stepped aside.
It was late, and Yuer was still in a coma, so Finn took Yuer to the town to rest.
He was guarded by Yuer's side until she woke up.
Yuer slowly opened her eyes, as if she just had a dream, and the first one she saw was Finn.
She had no idea of what happened to her, and she wondered why she was sleeping here.
Finn looked at her and smiled. Seeing Yuer's puzzled look, Finn did not intend to explain anything.
After telling her to get some rest, Finn went back to his room.
"They could be back on the road the next morning." Finn thought so.
In the middle of the night, the door to his room was quietly opened. Finn was a light sleeper, so he
could hear the sound.
He sat up and waited for the person to enter.
In the darkness, a thin figure stumbled in, covering its chest.
Finn did not say anything, just quietly watching it, and it had not noticed that Finn had woken up, and it
walked into the bathroom. After a while, Finn heard the sound of rushing water.
It did not turn on the light, as if it was afraid of being seen by the person outside.
Finn just quietly listened to the sound inside. A few moments later, it came out and wanted to leave.
But Finn said lightly, "Since you've come in, you might as well stay a little longer."
The figure leaned against the wall in surprise.
As Finn was about to light the bedside lamp when the woman said in a clear voice,
"Don't!"
Hearing the voice, Finn felt it familiar. He asked, "Florrie?"
The woman seemed to be quite surprised as well, and she asked, "Sir?"
"I told you that I won't help you. What are you doing here?"
The first thing Finn naturally thought of was that Florrie had troubled him again.
But it was all just a coincidence. Florrie said, "I really didn't think you live here. I just escaped here from
being chased."
Finn didn't believe it. "You are chased?"
"Since you refused to save me, I can only rely on myself."
"What about Sheppard?" Finn asked.
"He's probably dead." Florrie said indifferently, as she walked talking about an unimportant man.
Finn did not ask more questions, just said, "You can stay here until tomorrow morning."
This was all that he could do, but Florrie shook her head, saying, "No, there are things to be dealt with.
To escape is not the way to solve it."
After that, she turned around and walked towards the door.
Suddenly, a bang sounded.
The glass of Finn' room was shattered, and he avoided the shattered debris that rushed over. Then, a
man appeared in the middle of the room.
It was in the sixth floor, but the man jumped in directly. He must be a strong martial artist.
Before Finn could see him, the man recognized him.
"It's you." The man looked at Finn in surprise.
Finn then looked over curiously.
It was Cloud Barrett, Drifting Recluse, but Finn didn't expect to meet him here.
Finn laughed and said, "You know that all those who walk through the window are thieves. What the
hell are you going to do?"
Cloud Barrett did not think that Finn would say so, and he just laughed, "I actually did not expect you to
be here. You forced me to leave that day, and today I will let you know my power."
As he finished, he lunged at Finn.
Finn dodged to avoid his slap, turned over the covers and stood next to the bed, with only a pair of
underwear on him. Although Florrie was here, he didn't think she would mind. Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.
"Where is that woman?"
Cloud Barrett suddenly thought of something, and asked Finn.
Finn knew he was talking about Sienna. "Shall I go for her, or shall we have a violent fight and she
might just come over?"
Cloud Barrett stood there thinking about it. He was still very wary of Sienna.
Looking coldly at Finn and then at Florrie, he hesitated for a long time. Finn was in no hurry at all.
"Don't waste the time. If you want to fight, just do it, in case you will run away when she comes. It will
be very discouraging, then."
As Finn finished speaking, Cloud Barrett, as if he had made up his mind, said, "I'll spare your life today.
I'd like to see how long this guy can protect you."
He was speaking to Florrie.
He jumped directly from the window without efforts, which surprised Finn and Florrie.
After ten seconds or so, the room was quiet again.
Seeing that everything had calmed down, Finn said, "He should be gone."
Finn looked back at Florrie again. He didn't expect that the person she offended was Cloud Barrett. He
didn't mean to do it, but he did save Florrie's life.
And he did not expect Florrie to repay him anything.
Florrie said, "Then I should leave."
Finn thought for a moment and stopped her, "He should not dare to come back. Just stay here for one
night. I won't drive you away."
Florrie wanted to leave, but Finn said, "As you can see, he has a grudge against me. Since he knows
that you are with me, he dares not to come back."
Florrie wanted Finn to protect her, but when Finn declined her, she felt that Finn would not stay her.
Since he said so, there was no need that she should pester him.
"Well, then I'll stay here for one night, and I'll leave tomorrow." She was still worried Finn would turn her
down.
Finn did not say anything. Tomorrow was another day and he didn't need to think about what happened
tomorrow, but there was only one bed in the room. Where should she sleep?
