Psycho Boss And His Sassy Secretary

Evelyn stares into his forest-green eyes. Is he saying the truth? Why is her boss acting so nice to her? Maybe, it is because she is weak right now. She is weak and vulnerable. He probably pities her, that is why he is behaving like he cares. He is going to turn to the psycho boss tomorrow. Nothing is going to change. He will continue to frustrate her life at work.

She hates being weak. She hates when people pity her. There is nothing she can do, this time around. She really needs support. She needs someone to care for her.

She squeezes her eyes shut. She is beginning to overthink again. Her therapist had warned her overthinking state. It is really dangerous to her mental health.

“Relax your body and mind. Breathe in. Breathe out. Evelyn, that is what you should do anytime your mind wanders around,”

Still closing her eyes, she recalls what her therapist told her to always do, anytime she overthinks.

She draws in a long breath, then breathes out. After a few minutes, she heaves a sigh of relief. It is better now. Her mind is relaxed for a while.

“I will be fine,” She assures herself.

It may take time for her to recover from the heartbreak, but she will still be fine.

“Yes, I’m okay,” She answers. “Will you drop me at your house, then go to your workplace?”

Jayden shakes his head, starting the car engine.”I told you that you’re more important than my work. For now. You obviously need someone to keep you company or you may do something stupid to yourself,” He says.

She nods her head in the affirmative, trying to ignore the chills she feels in her body when he blurts out those words. At least, in the world, there is someone who cares about him. He cares about her and he is going to skip his work to make her feel good. Even though both of them know that he is so obsessed with his work.

Jayden is right. She is going to do something stupid if she is alone. She is going to unleash the crazy bîtch in her. Luckily for her, he is going to stay with her. She still doesn’t like that he is acting so nice because of her condition. She still considers it nice though.

The ride to his house is so silent, except for the song coming from the radio. The silence is not uncomfortable. It is rather peaceful. Both of them need time to think. To think about themselves and everything.

Jayden doesn’t know he decides to skip work because of Evelyn, her secretary. He has never missed his work before, especially because of a lady. A lady who is just a secretary. He should have dropped her at a hotel and even paid her bills. He will receive a “thank you” from her if he does that.

Evelyn, on the other hand, is thinking about her boyfriend who broke her heart. Why did Raymond do that to her? He really loves her. At least, that is what she thinks. But, he really does. The way he stares at her, the way he treats her like a baby, the way he showers his love and attention on her. That is love, isn’t it?

Then, why did he cheat on her with her cousin?

Tears welled up in her eyes while having these thoughts. Jayden steals a glance at her and notices the tears in her eyes. There is nothing he can do to stop her from crying or stop thinking about her stupid boyfriend. But, he can try.

LATER AT RAYMOND’S HOUSE

Skylar pats Raymond on his shoulder, pouting her full lips.”I don’t even know why you are acting moody. Why am I feeling bad? Didn’t you tell me that you want to break up with her?” She asks.

Raymond raises his eyebrows.”Of course, I told you that shit. But, don’t you get it? Are you a dummy? My girlfriend caught me cheating on her with her cousin. Do you expect me to be happy, Skylar?” He snaps at her.

She shoots him a deadly glare.”You didn’t realize that you have a girlfriend when you were having sex with me in Paris. You are an ãsshole, Raymond,” She insults him.

“Our first sëx was a mistake, Skylar. You literally seduced me. You got me high and we had sex tougher,” He retorts, defending himself.

She breaks into mocking laughter. “I agreed that I made you fûck me. But, you freaking enjoyed it and wanted more. Do you want to deny that you convinced me to come over to this place? If you really love your girlfriend, will you do that?” She rants.

His eyelids drop, covering his face with his palm.”I am stupid. A stupid jerk. What the heck was I thinking? Evelyn loves me. She really does. Now, I’ve messed up.”

Skylar let out a loud hiss.”Evelyn loves you, my foot,” She says.

“She is in love with me. She loves me, more than I do or you do,” He rambles, glaring back at her.

“She loves you, yet she is fûcking around with her boss. What a beautiful love story for the most adorable couple in California, Raymond and Evelyn,” She mutters sarcastically, tucking a lock of her hair behind her ear.

A line appears between her brows.”What do you mean?” He questions her.

“Well, your darling girlfriend is probably cheating on you. Isn’t it obvious? She always invites her boss to her house. They are always together, going to dinner parties and business trips. Well, why am I telling all these?”

He lifts his shoulder in a half-shrug. “I trust Evelyn. She can’t cheat on me. I made a grave mistake by messing around with you. She is not going to forgive me,”

“But, you told you that you’re in love with me, Raymond. Are you busy playing with my heart?”

“I have a girlfriend, Skylar.”

“You should better change that ‘have’ to ‘had’ because I’m sure that my cousin is not going to forgive a son of a bitch,”

“You just realized that Eve is your cousin, right? You should book a flight now because I’m also sure that she is not going to forgive an ungrateful bitch like you,”

“I hate you, dîckhead!” She shouts at him.

“I hate you more, hôe,” He yells back.

A bitter tear drops from her eyes, and she quickly wipes it off. “You’re going to regret deceiving me and making me feel like you are in love with me,” She yells.

With these words, she runs out of his house. It dawns on her that she is really in trouble.

There is no place she is going to stay and she is broke. What is going to happen to her?
