“Mr. Jayden,” Evelyn calls his name with her high-pitched voice, jerking him out of reverie.

Jayden fakes a smile, trying to maintain his composure and run from his unholy thoughts. “W.. What were y.. ou say.. ying?” He stammers.

He hates himself and his dirty mind for having such thoughts about his innocent secretary. He should be embarrassed, it is just his feelings.

“Are you okay?” She questions him.

He nods his head. “I’m fine. Do I look like someone who is not okay?” He asks back, hoping that she hasn’t seen that his penis is erect.

Her mouth curves into a wide smile. “You look okay, but kind of absent-minded. I said I was done with dressing up,” She says.

He heaves a sigh of relief. “Oh, that is nothing. Are you hungry or something? Or, do you want to go to bed now?” He bombards her with questions.

She pouts her lips. “You promised that we are going to continue our party here,” She reminds him.

“Of course, I promised you and I am going to fulfill my promise. Go to the living room. I will meet you there in a few minutes,” He says to her.

He takes a deep breath. “I want to have a quick shower. I think I need it,”

“I will wait for you here,”

“Evelyn, I – ”

She cut off his words, “You can dress up in the bathroom. I am a good girl. I am not wild. I promise I won’t peep through the bathroom door,”

Jayden tries to control his laughter, but he is unable to do it. It still comes out as a soft chuckle. Her secretary is acting overly dramatic like a spoiled girlfriend. He didn’t know that Evelyn can turn from being a sassy lady to a drama queen. Her boyfriend is one hell of a lucky guy. “Okay,” He mutters and goes inside the bathroom.

“What are you looking at, Evelyn?” His voice jolts her out of her train of thought.

She forces a smile, running her hands through her hair. “Nothing, Sir. Can we go downstairs now?” She asks him.

“Sure. You need to give me a few minutes though. I want to wear something,”

“Is that too much to ask?” She shouts in her mind.

“I am done. I don’t know why the role is reversed now. You are the one who is absent-minded now,” Jayden mumbles, after putting on a t-shirt.

“I am not. Just thinking about some important things,” She lies.

“Thinking about what?”

She shrugs. “Not important, ”

He sits down, gazing at her. “Who do you love most in the world?”

Even him have no idea why this question slips out of his mouth, but he just wants to know about her. So, the question is not a big deal, it is a goal.

She glances up at the ceiling for a while, then faces him. “My boyfriend and Nanny Cleo,”

“Pick one person. Are you dumb that you can’t even answer a simple question correctly?”

“I don’t know who to choose. Raymond thought,”

His lips curled. It is not like he is expecting her to mention his name but, saying her boyfriend’s name makes him jealous.

“What will you do if he cheats on you?” He asks her.

Her brows snap together. “Raymond can’t cheat on me. He loves me a lot. I can’t cheat on him too, I really love him,” She states.

His hands tighten into fists. Declaring her love for her boyfriend makes him jealous too. Why is he feeling this way toward his secretary? This is wrong. Very wrong.

“What if your boyfriend breaks up with you for personal reasons?”

She laughs as if what comes out of his mouth is very funny. “You don’t know how much Raymond loves me. He can never break up with me. We are even planning to get married soon,”

His eyelids drop. This is too much for him to handle. He feels lonely right now. Maybe, his mother is right. It is time for him to get a lady. If he has a girlfriend, he will not be feeling jealous of his secretary’s relationship with her boyfriend.

He clears his throat. “Why didn’t you mention your parents?”

She shakes his head. “Nothing,”

“Why?”

“I don’t want to talk about it, Mr. Jayden,” She blurts out.

He nods his head affirmatively, “Let’s go and watch some movies in the living room,”

“Sure,”

They watch movies before Evelyn falls asleep. Jayden carries her to the bedroom. He also goes to the other room and sleeps off.

THE NEXT DAY…

Evelyn’s phone beeps indicating a new message. She beams a smile, seeing the sender to be her boyfriend.

Jayden glances at her through the rear mirror. He notices the smile on her face. His hunch tells him that her boyfriend is the one who sent the text.

It is early in the morning. Jayden is driving to her house so she can change her dress, and resume work after that.

‘I am in California. I hope you are in your workplace. I will pick you up during closing hours’ The text reads.

‘Okay. I can’t wait to see you’ She texts back.

Jayden arrives at her house a few minutes later.

“You shouldn’t be late to work,” He says to her with a gloomy look on his face, before he drives away.

Evelyn heaves a sigh of relief. Skylar will be the only one at home. Nanny Cleo told her last week that she won’t be coming today since she is down with malaria.

Evelyn opens the door to the living room, hoping to see an empty living room, but her mouth falls open as she stares at the sight before her. This should be a nightmare.

Skylar is laying on the couch with Raymond on top of her, as they both kiss passionately like he had never kissed her before…
