Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 852

Hearing Brad's words left Nadine with a complex feeling.

This afternoon, she had been so angry with him that she didn't want to see him at

all. She deliberately spent time outside with Sebastian until it was completely dark

before returning. They even had dinner before coming back.

Just moments ago, Nadine was filled with disdain for Brad the moment she saw

him at the entrance. But now, her heart clenched just from hearing that he hadn't

eaten and had been waiting for them to return. She felt a pang of pity for him.

However, Nadine quickly suppressed that feeling. She reminded herself not to pity

him, or else she'd be miserable.

Taking a deep breath, Nadine softened her tone and asked, "Do you need me to

order some takeout for you?"

Before the divorce, she'd immediately prepare some medicinal soup if she sawnoveldrama

him in pain. He wouldn't even have to ask.

Though Nadine didn't feel sorry for him now, her heart still softened. After all, Brad

was a patient, and she was a caregiver. Nadine couldn't just stand by and watch a

patient suffer.

Hearing Nadine's gentle inquiry, Brad seemed momentarily dazed. Before their

divorce, the slightest furrow of his brow would send her into a frenzy of concern.

She'd ask questions and worry about his stomach to no end.

But now, even though he was in obvious pain, she only casually asked if he

needed some takeout.

It was clear that Nadine no longer cared about Brad. The man she truly cared

about had to be Jack. After all, a substitute could never replace the original.

Brad gave a self-deprecating smile. His lips curled downward as he shook his

head at Nadine. "There's no need. I won't die," he muttered, then closed his eyes.

Brad believed that Nadine didn't care

about him anymore. She only cared

about Jack. Even if Brad were to die

from pain where he lay, she wouldn't

feel a thing. As such, he might as

well just die there.

Nadine was puzzled by Brad's

self-destructive attitude. "Hey, didn't

you just take the medicine? Is it not

working at all?" she asked. This was

the best medication on the market

for stomach aches.

It had already been 20 minutes since Brad took the medicine. Why wasn't it taking

effect yet? At this point, Nadine started suspecting that Brad might be faking it.

Still leaning against the couch, Brad

opened his eyes and glanced at her.

He scoffed before saying, "You think

I'm an eyesore, don't you? Fine, you

don't have to kick me out. I'll leave

on my own two feet."

As he spoke, he tried to stand but staggered.

Seeing him so unsteady, Nadine quickly reached out to support him. Brad

grasped her hand for support and fell back onto the couch.

Nadine noticed his pale face just then. She couldn't bring herself to scold him any

further. "Fine, I'll order takeout for you. Just lie down and rest."

In this situation, Nadine simply couldn't ignore Brad's suffering. Even if he were a

stranger, she wouldn't be able to turn a blind eye.

She walked back to the bed, picked up her phone, and opened the app to order

takeout for him.

As Brad lay on the couch, he smiled faintly. A trace of amusement flickered in his

eyes. She still cared a little bit about him after all, didn't she?
